wow they did this one right! Everything from the controls to the effects to the sounds are all excellent. They made the game so your finger does not block the paddle like most brick breakers so you can actually see the paddle hit the ball 100% of the time. Also the "so called paddle" is curved in this one allowing the player to predict and angle shots better. The speed of the ball and paddle are just right. The game has some cool effects but its not so flashy that it bugs you like some of the other Brick Breakers. Overall its a very well polished Brick Breaker, one of the best ones in the store.
freedog, you are 100% right. i played the easy and hard levels once and it's absolutely amazing. the one thing i really like is the position of the pause button, on the top left corner, which wouldn't disturb the gameplay. for me, this is the best brick breaker game ever.
I agree, this is definitely a nicely done brick breaking game. I like the variety of bricks and powerups. I also liked the new twist of having ships in some levels that are shooting at you.
does the full version differ a lot from the lite version? i have bricks of camelot and block breaker deluxe. curious to see how this game fare against those two, i downloaded the lite version to try this out. sorry but i am a little underwhelmed... meteor brick breaker just doesn't provide any sense of accomplishment, it is just levels after levels of bricks to break. the latter levels are not necessarily more challenging than the earlier levels, ie there seems to be no progression. just mindless block breaking with the sole aim of surviving and getting higher scores. in block breaker, the levels are memorable, as in you will remember certain levels, and some actually require some strategy. there are also boss levels that play out differently from the usual brick breaking. you also get to spend $$$ collected on persistent upgrades. in bricks of camelot, the levels are played in packs. so you get a great variety of levels, and once again, because of the themed levels, they are a lot more memorable. the levels are beautifully crafted. completing a pack unlocks another pack, so you get some sense of reward. don't get me wrong, i think meteor brick breaker is still a good game, but i don't think it is fair to rank it as the "best brick breaker game ever"...
