iPad Meteor Blitz by Alley Labs (v1.6 - Retina Display)

I thought about this game today for some reason and remembered a talk of Retina update. I decided to write a short e-mail to the devs asking if its still happening. Well, guess what? UPDATE WITH RETINA SUPPORT WAS SUBMITTED TO APPLE YESTERDAY.

Thanks to Alley Labs for supporting their game still, after all this time.

Those who are new to App store and don't know about this game should definitely check it out - one of the best Dual Stick shooters that has ever come out on an iDevice.

 

Alley Labs is da bomb. So looking forward to their next game, Rogue Element.

The update is here and retina graphics look great but for some reason my full version became lite version with only 3 levels and prompts to buy full one. Don't really want to experiment since I already bought the game once. Perhaps Hyung can tell us what's up.

Do not download this update if you have the full version. You will lose access to all other levels.

Let's hope the developer fixes this soon. It's a shame as the retina update looks simply stunning.

 

Same here, NOT COOL.

Interesting note, I was mid-game when I upgraded, it let me play to the end of the level, then prompted me to buy the full game, and dumped me back to the title screen, all progress lost.

 

Clicking on the link just takes you to the App Store where it shows that the full version is already installed

 

Same problem here unfortunately, I was mid game too, same as drelbs, it let me finish the level and then prompted me to upgrade.

 

doh wish i read this before updating oh well a fix will come soon enough, dude this game looks hot in retina tho! thx for supporting this awesome game still.

if you delete it and re-dl it does that fix the problem? i mean you will have to start over but do you get the full version that way or does it say to buy the full?

 

ill try it , ill delete it and re-dl it see if it gives us the full version, it will be fixed im just jazzed the game is in retina it looks freaking awsome, still one of the best dual stick shooters out.

 

ya its broken when you dl the full game it says its the trial thats when deleting it and re-dl it so there you go..

 

i emailed them, sent hyung a message and left a review im sure it will be fixed quick, maybe apple got confused and uploaded trial as the full version!

 

Yeah maybe! Proper bummer though! With the gorgeous RD visuals I've fallen in love with Meteor Blitz all over again!

 

Got reply from the dev: they made a mistake and are working on fixing it. They are going to try and get the correct versions approved by Apple quickly.

 

I'm really sorry but we screwed up this latest version of Meteor Blitz (v1.5).

We have some code that detects if a copy of Meteor Blitz has been hacked, and it's not working correctly. It thinks that your download is hacked and so it only gives you 3 levels.

We're working really hard on a fix, and we're going to try to resubmit it to Apple today, and ask them really nicely if they can expedite the review.

I also took down the game from the App Store for the time being.

Retina support sounds great. Is this update (or a future one) going to add Game Center as well?

It seems unlikely as the game has been out so long but is there any chance of an ipad/universal version of this awesome game? I've been telling people for a long time that I still think this is the best iphone shooter, would be amazing on the ipad.
