Sick song there man! Gotta love that kinda stuff... They need more epic power whatever metal with screaming (or is that something else... not too good with genres :D).

I'd post what I'm listening to right now, but it's not even close to metal. At all. So instead, I'll leave you guys with...

    Happy you like 'em.
That Skyfore song wasn't bad, though I'm still not a fan of harsh vocals used in this way. Pretty much the only way I really like them is on The Human Equation, so that they represent some emotion.

Btw what kind of stuff do you play? : D

EDIT: 'Dude, just post it! I'm listening to Blackmore's Night stuff atm, who cares if it's metal? : D

@Balu` What do you mean what stuff do I play? Like instruments? or were you not talking to me lol

I actually read into it more, and on that album "Wintersun" he didn't do the drums. But he did the vocals, guitars, bass, and keys. Which is still amazing LOL

I play Guitar mainly, but I first started playing Bass Guitar. Picked up keyboards, and drums in between. I am pretty damn good at the guitar (should be, been playing for 8 years) pretty good at the Bass (9 years) but I am only slightly decent at the keys and drums (only 6 years on and off). With guitar I love playing Metal shit, but not much else (the other stuff kind of bores me) but on bass I like playing Punk and Indie (metal Bass bores me too lol) On drums I can't play anything other than metal. I am pretty good with the double foot bass shit, but I can't really hold blast beats very well. And keys, well aside from a few Final Fantasy covers and stuff I have worked on myself, I am no where near as good as I should be (I am in no way a Jens Johansson =P).

I have been in bands in all breeds of music. But the one I currently am in is somewhere between a mix of melodeath, and metalcore. You probably wouldn't like it too much cause of the vocals, he sounds kinda like the singer of As I Lay Dying. The guitar's you would probably like though, we tear shit up. But my lead guitarist is really really good. I feel like I am holding them back sometimes cause I can't keep up with the sweep picking shit very good. We only have 3 songs so far but havn't gotten to write alot with them as of late since I have been moving and work has been crippling to my home life.

I just started another project though with an old friend. It's straight melodeath though, like In Flames' first 3 albums, That being the biggest influence. He plays bass and I play everything else and we just record. I'll send you some shit when we get more things together =D

Sounds interesting, also makes me want to pick up some instrument. Too bad I have about zero musical talent. : D

I taught myselt by ear. I fortunately had that ability, but the ironic part about my music playing is, is I cannot read music. For the life of me. I can read chords and stuff like that but a music sheet means nothing to me. Kinda sucks and I know if I applied myself to learn I could, but bleh... to lazy I guess? I dunno lol. You should pick up the bass! It's really not that difficult to play and learn.

The problem with bass is simple: my favourite genre is power meta, and that has some insanely boring bass parts. : D

Yeah... that's my problem with bass. I mean you can always make it interesting enough, but still not to the point that entertains me like punk rock or anything.

Really a choice or preference. I mean depending on what style of music y ou want to play (In your case, progressive/symphonic metal) Guitar requires a lot of alternate picking, which took me a while to learn cause it's so fast. The drums require a hell of a lot of stamina, cause often times they are fairly fast with lengthy songs. With keys, well I can't say much there since I suck at them. Bass is really the instrument to go and learn the chords. Once I learned chords on the bass it was only a matter of time before I wanted to move to the guitar. Had my friend show me power chords and once you know power chords, you can play a lot of things right there. Especially power metal.

So. More work for more fun. Bleh. Anyway, keyboards is my favourite instrument, no idea why though, too bad you can't say much about it. How hard are vocals btw? : Dd

Yeah I mean keys are fun, and I can do leads decently, but like I said, I am no Jens. That shit is impossible for me to do. I've tried to learn some songs and I just can't keep up no matter how hard I try. My hands get way to tired way to quick.

I have sang for a death metal band, and the band I am in now (doing death metal growls) and they are hard to do in a whole set (like playing at a show). It's actually just as tiring as playing the drums it feels like. And there are things to do to keep up with them (like sips of lemon juice) and certain tricks to help from not throwing up LOL. But singing singing is fun. I love driving around singing along to Opeth and stuff like that. You pretty much have to get an outside opinion on vocals though, it's hard to hear what you sound like to yourself.

Haha... Pig Destroyer... actually, I'm kinda surprised that hasn't been brought up yet... So, why not?

    There ya' go.

And Balu, it's the background music from an anime I watch. It sounds amazing when put in the show, which, admittedly, is quite weird at times. Nonetheless, it's some awesome sounding stuff, although I might appreciate it more since I like the show a lot.
