Yeah definitely. I gotta get albums from them. It's good stuff. They are f*cking awesome. Really strange but in a great way. Though the album cover of the song I just listened too makes them look rediculous. I love the whole black metal dressup face paint scene. It cracks me up to no end. LOL
:>> Tell me what you think after some more. Yeah, their covers suck absolutely, but their music is good. :x
Just downloaded Shadowheart from Kivimetsän Druidi and Arany-album from Dalriada. Giving Shadowheart a full listen over first though, cause I am addicted. LOL
Haha, have fun. :> Sidenote: Arany-album songs are based on poems by Hungarian poet Arany János. Also, its title is a play on words (arany means gold). :] Btw, Townsend's Deconstruction will be epic. From his Facebook:
Nice that's pretty cool. I am digging this shit so far. It's really cool music, haven't quite heard anything like this before. LOL That is freaking perfect. Good ol' Townsend showing em what life is all about.
I need something swift and powerful right now though. Gotta smash out on some paperwork due asap. Listening to Manticora atm. Got anything for me?
Quieter stuff eh? Whatever phase it takes for you to get to your Melodeath liking phase man. Well that was awesome. And any band that has lyrics regarding Middle-Earth get a +1 in my book. Going to download some of their shit now. So busy at work though. busy busy busy.
Quieter like.. Townsend's Ki and some Arjen stuff. So mostly prog. And sometimes atmospheric folkmetal stuff. And some Strapping Young Lad. : DDD Glad you like it, how come you're busy btw?
hahaha I was more or less kidding. I've just really been into mixes of Melodeath and Power Metal as of late, with Symphonic influences and such. Hardly listen to anything else right now. Bosses have dropped some major projects on me due by the end of the week since we have a Federal Review coming next week. It's hectic but it will all die down once they leave (they will be here all next week). They just come in and try and pick apart all departments and find anything wrong. As soon as they find nothing wrong, they leave. LOL
: DD But melodeath is actually a mix of death and power metal, isn't it? :x Symphonic stuff is fun tho. Ouch, that sounds like shit. :< Also, I think I have an idea why I don't really like melodeath and other really agressive stuff. Those things are just... angry, and lately, I've been insanely peaceful. No idea why, but I really like it this way.
Pretty much. But I just mean't I have been listening to them both. And yeah Symphonic stuff can be really fun or really boring. Yeah it is shit. Everyone needs to take a damn xanax or something to calm down. That makes sense. Melodeath is generally really agressive. It's good to be peaceful though. I stay peaceful and patient and still listen to crazy music though. Maybe it's the inner anger in me being satisfied somehow. I generally avoid confrontation unless it's necessary.
Well, what symphonic metal do you consider boring? Ouch. Meh, I don't have a problem with crazy music (Ants power!), in fact, I have a bigger problem with completely sane people. They are boring. But yeah, agressive/angry music usually bothers me, except few minutes daily.
Newer Therion. It's so boring compared to their previous work LOL. Yeah I hear ya dude. Nothing wrong with that at all ^.^ But yeah boring/sane people bore me too. Not as attractive. LOL I'm now listening to Kalmah. Pretty good Melodeath stuff.
True. Secret of the Runes was their peak I think. Do you at least like Epica? : DD Meh, not good for me. :>
Yeah I would have to agree. That was a good album. Epica is rad as shit. I have the Phantom Agony on my iPod. Good stuff. Listening to Theocracy right now. Mirror of Souls, as you suggested a long time ago in this thread, is one of the most epic songs evAr.
You managed to pick my least favorite from them. :} Yeah, it's a great song. Few can compete, like Strato's Elysium and BG's ATTWS.
Rofl. Well if that's the worst, I gotta get more and complete the collection. Cause that one is really good to me. Yeah definitely. I like really long epic length songs. Like Opeth's BRI too. ^.^ By the way, I converted my father to "Devinism" if you will. He is more into mainstream stuff than myself, but he likes the occassional good band that is not so known here and there. Played him "Sit in the Mountain" and he nearly shit. He loved it. Then went off to buy most of his early stuff. He really likes it all so far.
You definitely have to! Who doesn't? Hah, good job there! I guess people either love or hate Devin. But you didn't show him SYL, did you?
