Well give these bands a try. Consulted my friend about these so I have no idea. Cept the first band, But I don't like them much. Kind of too doomy for me but meh. Give em a try. The rest of their stuff is similar to this song but with annoying vocals.
First: Couldn't play. Second: Mainstream crap Third: Not bad, not atmospheric enough Fourth: Quite good, very, VERY weird. Later ones weren't at all what I was looking for.
You would have liked the first one a lot. Regional issues? Weird. But Radiohead is crap? That hurts. Easily one of my favourite bands of all time. Especially that song... I love that song. But yeah Coil is weird. I listened to more of their stuff and it was very bizarre but sounded good. I'm still hurt by the Radiohead coment though. *cries*

Ahhh that sucks. You should listen to it soon. I do as well, unless they are actually good. But Radiohead isn't good, they are amazing. But it's all personal taste. Especially that song, that's probably my favourite song from them, and it's one of their less upbeat songs. I would describe them to someone as "Ambient/Experimental" hahahah. No idea man.

I f*cking love Be'lakor. I mentioned them probably 50 pages back LOL. I am a huge Melodeath fan, and Be'lakor owns. I liked The Frail Tide more than the Stone's Reach but both mega f*cking awesome.
Yeah, I thought they could have been mentioned, but it's a LONG-ass thread and 50 pages without Be'lakor on them is too many. Stone's Reach is definitely my fave, though, BY FAR, but their debut is fantastic as well. But yeah, I'm really not a big melodeath fan, since a lot of it is pretty boring, formulaic, and derivative, IMO. The only bands of that genre I listen to regularly would be Be'lakor, Insomnium, and Amon Amarth (which is kind of funny considering my last sentence). Also this: Best band ever.
Opeth is my 2nd favourite band. Got a big Opeth "O" on my arm tatted to prove it. LOL. What's your favourite Opeth album? Mine is definitely Black Water Park. Then My Arms, Your Hearse. Then Still Life. Then Damnation ^.^ I love Melodeath probably for the reasons you are bored of it. Most of it is somewhat fomulaic with some bands I know that stray from the path a little. But for the most part it all goes well and in my head, works wonders. I try very religiously to convert @Balu` to listen to some Melodeath hahaahahah.
Still Life, without a doubt, followed by My Arms, Your Hearse, Blackwater Park, and Ghost Reveries. I'm also a huge fan of Porcupine Tree, Symphony X, Riverside, and Agalloch. Great stuff.
That's about enough out of you. LOL jk man. It does suck ^.^ Aweomse man, good albums either way. I love Porcupine Tree. Definitely up there in my favs. And I recently got completely hooked into Agalloch. Like Real bad, they are f*cking awesome. Wish I would have found out about them sooner in life. But Symph X.... ugh... no comment. LOL me and Balu` had this discuession about 15~20 posts back. I just can't get into them. And have been exposed to all of their music pretty much (as I have buddies who like them as well). Just not music for me.
