I picked at random, the album "Ashes Against the Grain". This first song so far is awesome. Reminds me of a metal version of the band Explosions in the Sky. Edit: Woah, didn't expect those vocals. LOL
Well after listening to the first 2 songs from this album, I am strongly interested. I will be downloading some more from these guys. I really need internet back at my house. I am so missing out on so many bands on my iPod.
Can't think of anything off the top of my head that it sounds directly like. Why? Should it? hahahaah I'll check the song out in a minute. Hooked on this Agalloch album hahaha
Nah, I just want some more. : D The most similar thing I know is Moonsorrow but even that's really different. YAY! : D Prepare for some awesome weirdness though.
Yeah I guess you could say they have a bit of a Moonsorrow vibe but yeah still pretty different. Listened to that song. Very Neoclassically Industrial =D it was pretty good. Another one of those songs I didn't think you would like, since it has a distinct doomy-industrial sound to it. Vocals and all.
Cause it's really industrial oriented and I didn't think that was your type of music. In fact, I assumed you pretty much hated it ahahahah
I think this isn't really industrial. In fact I could barely hear anything industrial in it, just some neoclassical.
Well, there's no doubt it neoclassic that's for sure, but like I said. It definitely sounds rather Industrial to me. I listen to a lot of industrial music though, so yeah. ^.^ Either way, the song is awesome. Definitely weird, but not ina bad way at all.
Mm, maybe some industrial feel in the vocals, not more tho. : D Anyway, glad you liked it, and even more glad I got you hooked on Agalloch. : D Sucks that I don't have anyone irl to talk about music.
Yeah man Agalloch is the shit. Really like the feel and atmosphere of thier music with this album. Can't wait to check out more. I know how you feel man. I don't really talk to as many friends as I used to, and I talk to my wife about music sometimes but yeah. I dunno. Oh well. That's what teh interwebz is for. LOL
Surprised you like them so much. I guess the atmosphere is where the ambient influence kicks in. Meh, right. : D Still, wouldn't be bad if my classmates liked some good stuff.
Yeah it's rare when I hear a bad that i am so fond of right off the bat but these guys sure have done it for me. Glad you suggested them. Really unique stuff. Yeah I definitely hear that. In school I was a diplomat. I had my core click of friends and band mates, but I was friends with everyone with specific music clicks. My main set of friends didn't listen to half the shit I did, especially in the metal category. They all thought I was f*cking weird for being able to tolerate so many different types of music. Blah whatever. When i switched schools I mainly stuck to myself. I talked with friends and even made some bands with a few people, but for the most part kept to myself because everyone was f*cking retarded. lol
You ARE weird to like that many kinds of music. : DDDDDD Anyway, I really can't get tired of Devin Townsend stuff now. No idea why.
I am not! *runs and cries* Nah I know it's weird. I find it funny that like most of the time Rappers hate Metal music, and vice versa. Punks hate techno, and vice versa. Everyone is so comfortable with thier own selves but won't step out of their shell. But it's all about taste. Not all music is for everyone and I get that. I just enjoy watching people argue over shit like "Rap music isn't music" and stuff like that. Or people like my mum that claim "Anyone can scream death metal stuff, that takes no talent". It amuses me. lol. It was funny, a few co-workers were arguing about what to put on the radio and were about to give up cause they couldn't decide what to listen to, so I chimed in and said "If you guys want, I can put something on for everyone." and they all looked at me and started yelling at me "No one wants to listen to your death crap" and one of them went as far as to saying quote "No one wants you to put on your 'blood evil' music" hahahahaa> I laughed hysterically at her. Blood Evil music? wtf is that?! I don't know but that's what I am going to start calling the music I make. I'll be genre defining! They just automatically assume that "Blood Evil" music is all I listen to. Sad I listened to some SYL last night playing Call of Duty as a matter of fact. Well not a whole album but a couple songs from Alien.
