Real ambient isn't that good imo, but ambient mixed with prog rock is amazing, and ambient/neofolk is quite awesome too.

All metal videos suck. Anyway, not a bad band, singer sounds like a combination of Strato's Timo and Hansi. Only worse. : D

I like some of it, got to really be in the mood for it. But yeah when it's mixed with genres like Prog Rock/Metal it can be pretty rad.

Yeah pretty much. Then again I am not much of a music video person. Kind of think they are a waste of time. But hey, who am I to judge lol. Yeah I like the band they aren't bad but not near as good as Timo or even close to Hansi. (vocals)

Quality isn't near as good, but the style is similar I think. Don't you agree?

Oh yeah much similar, that's why I wanted you to check em out. He's really not bad at all though, just not as good as Timo's vocals that's all. He is like... all pro status. Can't really top him in that style of singing. Same with Hansi, only I couldnt count on one hand anyone that sounds remotely close to Hansi. I can count hundreds of singers that want to sound like Timo. lmao

True. They are two of the three best power metal singers for me (with thr third being Mathias Blad of Falconer for his uniqueness, I don't even know one singer who sounds like him in the genre).

Yeah he does have a unique folkish style of vocals. Nice on the ears. Not my favourite band though, but they are good for a listen to once in a while. =D

They are great. Did you know their next album will be sung entirely in Swedish?

O, what do you think of lastfm?

Wow that's pretty cool. Probably will sound a lot better. I like foreign language vocals. LOL

I have used Last.Fm on my 360 a little bit, and the bands I enter usually have some decent (often surprising) similar results which is pretty cool. But I will say that the few times I have used it, I have only discovered maybe 2 new bands. Currently out of net so I can't use it right now LOL.

Old school stuff redone with Barlow vocals (Old singer was miserable, lucky they had amazing music. I actually like the old music better than the new version, but like I said you should take a listen to the old version of this song just to hear how bad they used to be LOL)

    New

I'm not really a fan too much of remastering music, but I am so glad they put out an album redoing some songs from their first 3 albums, cause the first 2 albums' singers were awful. Especially the first one. Bleh.

What do you think of Tim Owens (ex Judas Priest, ex Iced Earth singer) by the way? He's got a good thrash/power metal voice I think, I don't think he get's enough credit that he deserves. Here's a couple songs to check out with his work in Iced Earth. Might like him more than with Barlow hahaha

Quite big difference, and even though I prefer Barlow too, the old one seems like a fine singer for thrash metal.
    I really don't like him. I prefer Barlow. Surprised? : D

Yeah it's a huge difference. They have come a long way. It's not that he was that terrible of a singer, I just grew up with Barlow's vocals (Got into them from their 3rd album when he started singing) and worked backwards from there.

But yeah a tad surprised, but not a whole lot. I think he was great for Judas Priest. When he joined the band, the band grew completely out of the whole 80's Thrash to the much better 90's thrash. I like Judas Priest though with either Owens or Halford. Just prefer it with Halford.

The funny (and equally sad) thing about Tim Owens, is that he joined Judas Priest because Rob Halford wanted to do his own thing. Then Tim got replaced by Halford because he wanted to come back, so he joined Iced Earth because Barlow left to do his own thing after 9/11 (he really freaked out by that and became a cop...) and then Tim got replaced, yet again by the original singer when Barlow came back. LOL

Yeah actually, he was the lead vocalist on Yngwie Malmsteen's last 2 records! That and he does vocals and I think some guitars in Beyond Fear, and Charred Walls of the Damned. I think he had solo work to but never listened to it.

Mmm, I'm not a fan of Malmsteen's stuff (except the first three albums). Anyway, good to hear he still sings, he isn't a bad one. Too thrashy voice imo though.

Any music for me? : D

I actually hate all of Malmsteen's stuff but yeah it's good that he jumped from Judas Priest, to Iced Earth to Malmsteen. At least he is keeping productive lol.

I actually, do not. lol. Havn't gotten into any new bands at all really. Shame :(

Cause it's boring and all sounds the same. He is a talented ass guitarist, but lacks any real music composition. At least to me, I always found that stuff boring. It might be because I had to put up with all that shit hanging out with some old band mates, I was in a band playing rhythm guitar for a guy who played nothing but that stuff. I got out of the band quick cause it just got so boring.

Speaking of boring, the bass in that song was so bad! But that song was amazing. I wish I could play 1/8th as good as him. But that bassist... poor bass players. LOL

Meh, I guess Jens made the first three good for me. : D

It's really rare when I care about bass. I find it a somewhat pointless instrument.

hahaha I see. I getcha, but like I said, I could give a f*ck less about Malmsteen and his self rightous music. ^.^

I love the bass, it's actually the first intrument I picked up really and learned to play well first. But some music just makes it sound pointless. I need a new bass guitar bad. Tried recording with my current one and it is so f*cking old (about 7 years old) that it just needs to be put down. That's why I didn't even include bass in "Living the Dream" cause I don't have one.

The bassist for my punk/metal side project I have going on has a really nice bass. His aged well, but his is about older than mine. But it was a good one to start from anyways. just needs new strings. I need a new bass all together. >.>

Meh, the only genre bass is really needed is prog imo. Even there, I prefer the Ayreon-style where acoustic guitar/synth gives the rythm with the drums.
