Are you talking about that solo at the begining that he did? If so, that was so distorted. Lightly, but that wasn't clean. hahaahaha
He's a great guitarist, but that song at the begining, Chaos, take however many he joked about, was totally distorted. You can even hear the distortion from the guitar when he pulls off to end it! How are you so sure it's not?! ahahaahaha
It was.. a little bit disorted, but I haven't really heard many less disorted things in any genre. BTW: this is the guy behind Ayreon if you didn't know. :>
HA! I win! lmao jk dude. That's all I was driving at. There would be no way in hell he would be able to pull off that sound with a fully clean guitar. trust me, over 8 years of playing will get you to the point where you pick up that shit retardedly and then obsess over it for hours Yeah I knew that was him, I'll never forget his ugly mug anywhere He is quite amazing though.
/bows Nah it's not too difficult. The hammer ons and pulls offs make it sound hard but it's really a matter of getting the timing of them, especially the tapping. Tapping is super easy and makes you sound good at the guitar =D One solo i tried to learn from him was the solo for Digital Rain, and man. That's a tough one. I'm not that good.
Oh really? I didn't know. Either way, it's f*cking hard. I can hang with like.. In Flames and Iced earth solos, but some of the harder shit is beyond me, ESPECIALLY sweep picking. I cannot for the life of me get that down and I have been trying for a long time. I wish I could though, that would make my lifetime. Kind of an unachievable goal of mine that I still hope to one day accomplish ahahah. I can do some, but the more complicated scales work my hards to death. I cannot co-ordinate my fingers to do it right. /cry
I can hang with solo's like: 2:37 and 4:39 Are a few very slim examples. Could post a Strato song or 2, or the obligatory DragonForce, but you get the idea.
Yeah I started playing bass. I actually learned bass from a mini acoustic guitar my mum had since she was a kid just using the top E-A-D-G string since I was kind of too poor to afford a real one in 7th grade. Just learned by playing along with Metallica and Iron Maiden, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Modest Mouse, etc. Then upgraded to In Flames and Iced Earth and went up from there. Picked up a few tricks like pinch harmonics, tapping and stuff from friends but like I said, for the most part I taught myself.
Yeah but totally worth it in the end. Definitely something to save up for if you are slightly interested. Especially if you are bored youth. Many hours of my day were saved by playing along with albums that I love. And learning new songs always makes you feel so warm and fuzzy inside, especially nailing tougher ones ^.^
You do have a point there, but it would be so much easier to decide for me if anyone I know had something similar. Planning to visit Hungary anytime soon? : DDD
Yeah I get where you are coming from. heh dude I don't even have my passport (much too lazy) let alone money to get there. hahahaha. I've never been to Hungary before.
