Well I don't have the experience with power or prog so that's probably how I could tell that they sound great I probably wouldn't mind more albums like that one .
You sure like giving me work. >.< Finding melodic progmetal is easier. How about these guys? Vocals need some time to get used to. Also check out the two other albums by DSO. They're pretty good too.
The third song is especially nice. I didn't have time to listen to them intently so I'll return to the first 2 later .
Haven't gotten the time to listen to the full album of that 3rd song yet . However, I have found the time to listen to FangorN - Where the Tales Live On. Top tier folk metal, makes you wonder why none of the more prominent bands are pumping out quality music of this caliber.
Souls Of Diotima What Remains Of The Day (prog gothic metal). Pretty good imo. Soft sections are melodic enough to stay enjoyable (even for me ). Give it a listen.
Alright stuff, but I'd say that they have too much chugging for my taste. :> Pretty enjoyable powermetal:
. Encyclopaedia Metallum: Melodic Heavy Metal (!???). Anyway, sounds great to me. Album recommendations?
New Dying Fetus album: Reign Supreme New Nile album: At the Gate of Sethu New Whitechapel album: self-titled All winners
I don't really care about their genre descriptions, if it sounds like power metal to me, I call it that. :> Albums? I don't really know all of them, but their debut is good. @your later post: This is annoying..:Đ and you sure have some shitty homework assignments!
Hi guys. I haven't been on in ages, been busy with a new job and such. Just thought i'd post some of the more recent stuff that i've been listening to. Still in love with the entire Hypomanie album that I linked a song from a month or so ago. But got some new stuff too: Dopamine - Melting. Chinese "depressive black/shoegaze". A lot of it has a post-rock vibe but then has heavier sections. I'm not sure how to describe it, but they have really interesting guitar picking in their songs. Especially at the end of this song i'm posting... I dunno, maybe you guys can describe it better. Unfortunately they only made like 3 songs or something I think
I've checked out that Hypomanie album since then and I really like it. :> I don't think I'll be too into this post-black genre - I really dislike black metal vocals, especially if they ruin the mood of a nice post-rock song. :x The first one's instrumental parts were awesome, though, and the second one's intro sounded pretty nice too. Maybe you'd like post-rock as well? I feel it's a really nice genre for times when one's in the mood for something quieter. :>
Yeah, definitely. I've been listening to quite a bit of post-rock lately, too. Just haven't posted it in this thread cause it's not exactly on topic That song was really good, I'm going to have to check them out in more detail later on. Here's some of the post-rock I've been listening to: Aurora Borealis - Rainlight
Meh, I don't think anyone really cares about whether the discussion is on or off topic at this point. >.< Anyway, I knew some of those, but the rest were pretty good too. I know an insane amount of similar post-rock bands, there are lots of them out there. Some of my favorites:
New single "A Light for the Shadows" from my new band Before I Wake!! Check it out and let me know what you think ASAP!! www.reverbnation.com/biwmusic |m|
Whoops, late to the party. But, nice! Honestly, not my kind of metal these days, but it is pretty awesome quality.
