Just to clarify, I'm alright with emotion in music. For example, Shot in the Dark by Within Temptation is in my accepted for emotional vocals. Noticeable emotions, but not overproduced or forced so it sounds 'just right'.
Sinead on the other hand, is borderlining on forced (esp the first verse).

15 new albums in less than an hour... all melodic death (some melo D + -core).

This will take me some time to burn through...

I shall make more recommendations as necessary :D

When will you have time to listen to all that stuff?:Đ

I'll throw in some bands/songs tomorrow, I've got plenty you probably don't know. Even some melodeath!

Ok, I've listened to a portion of the new albums (total count of 16 actually) and I want to give some impressions:

The Agonist - Lullabies For The Dormant Mind
Metalcore with lots of (by genre standards) soaring female cleans and higher-pitch-than-normal male screams. Subtle and very nice symphonic background sounds.

As Eden Burns - The Great Celestial Delusion
Melodic deathcore - enough melodies to secure the 'melodic' genre prefix, and a mix of death metal and metalcore vocals (growls & harsh screams) + riffage. Love the blistering fast melodies (and vocals).
(not sure if either of you can like it)

    Neptune - Acts of Supremacy
    MELODIC DEATH METAL
Not as impressive as Solerrain. But you know why I brought Solerrain up? It's because these guys are comparable to them! Slower, but indefinitely catchy guitar melodies and solos, Nighrage-ish vocals (the last two albums) and lotta cleans (good ones!).

    Unto Acheron - Unto Acheron
Melodic death metal with some great (but not Insomnium-catchy) melodical leads. Kinda heavy on rhythmic chords (my love for metalcore FTW!); a lot of cleans (for the genre, the metalcore side of me craves for this!) for the genre and the vocals is too high and abrasive for death metal.
*I absolutely object against the overly exposed album art*

    *Btw forgot to mention:
    Unspoken Triumph - Vindication (EP)
The 2nd, 3rd and 5th song are very good.
    -------------------------------------------
    Response to Booch's recommendations

The Absence Riders of the Plague
GREAT melodeath! Wait.. melodic death? Is it just me or does the album sound more like a death metal album with a lot of guitar solos? Too chord heavy and 'chuggy' (not a word I know) for my expectations from an melodeath album. World Divides' chorus is very memorable though.

    DT
Em... I think I have some special resistance genes to DT for some reason. I just... can't seem to like them!? Some of the songs sound good, but most of the stuff just sounds like heavily layered sound to my ears, can't really pick out much 'melody' (yes I'm using EQ which highlights guitar melodies with all my melodeath songs and their songs still sound muddy). I'll have to pass on all DT stuff from now on.

    In Flames
I will save time and energy by not revisiting a foregone conclusion: early IF songs are CLASSICS of the genre! Haven't delved into them yet but a lot of the melodies have been ingrained into my memory bank after just one listen. Loving The Jester's Dance's tasteful melody!!!

Didn't even notice when I synced:
    0.24 GB free space .

What should I do if I find more good music?

Balu, I believe my world will end when you give me recommendations to melodeath that I don't know...

Not much more here either. :x
You'll just have to organize your music, that's what I do. It's in no way easy, though.

Sorry man, Christmas was busy, I'll post the stuff tomorrow. I'll hope you'll like. 'em.

    Lots to reply to here...

The Agonist and Neptune are awesome, heard of them already. But I will have to check out the other mentioned suggestions. I like Metalcore and Deathcore myself so I can give a few suggestions on both if you would care for them.

Checked out Unspoken Triumph, Vindication wasn't bad, the songs you highlighted were really good but I wasn't really impressed with the rest of the album. Still those songs were good enough to merit a listen to a few times.

In Thy Dreams was interesting, the EP was good, but for some reason their full lengths weren't as good. Felt like they kind of ran out of ideas or something lol. But I did like the Stream of Dispraised Souls.

Enthrope has made a new home in my iPod library. That was really good for me.

Faithful Darkness was really good, a nice Melodic touch of the Death and Thrash without making awkward transitions between. Really enjoyed them.

The Absence is more Death than Melodic Death, but I still felt a hint of the Thrashy and Riff Heavy influences that made AtG relevant whilst still maintaining a nice Catchy Melodic sound. I dunno what it was. I would agree though that it's less melodic though.

Dark Tranq requires a certain ear to enjoy. not for everyone, but thought I would have you give it a shot.

Glad you are digging old In Flames. I can talk all day about them, but you already know that. The Jester's Dance is just too fun though ^.^

This was strange but I did like it. I did like it in TMM, though it made it an interesting piece to swallow. Now I am going to listen to Decon. ahaahahha

It is a really weird song.. it's kinda Devlab-like, but less experimental... The last part is the best one, I think.

If you like Melodic Deathcore, here is something to check out that I would highly suggest. I actually played the drums in that song (and had to learn them in 2 days!!!), though I was, and am still not an official member of the band. I used to be the Rhythm Guitarist, but a lack of time and clashes with some of the members kind of influenced me to leave. They were in a bind in the recording of their EP process and the (now) drummer of the band only got to record some of the songs himself, before having a conflict of time with his other band. So they asked me if I wanted to do the drums, and was more than obliged to. Now enough tooting my own horn. Check them out, they are pretty good.

    Also, more melodic deathcore:

Not much music talk in me right now, trading stuff on Steam is tiring. >.< I'm searching for mostly relaxing modern classical/ambientish stuff and found plenty...
How was Christmas for you, Booch?:Đ

I've got some time, so I'll try looking around for some stuff for you. Hopefully can find something good and worthy for you.

I'd rather not discuss my Christmas. All I will say is that my son had a good time, and got plenty of gifts. It was a blessing for him, so for that I am very happy about. Everything else... well. Like I said, would rather not discuss here.

Well, good for your son, then. About the other stuff, where else if not here? And please don't say "upgrade to iOS 5". :Đ

No problem. I'll let you know if I've found anything after lunch. Kind of hungry...

I would tell you to make the switch to iOS 5, but if seems as if you have done a good enough job of reminding yourself, you lazy bum.

    @Booch... ... ...

Do you have something against the size of my music library? I had to cut albums, delete individual songs just to make space...

Anyway, will listen to the stuff you posted. Already heard All Shall Perish and it didn't feel melodic enough to warrant a position in my library.

Fleshgod Apocalypse is hands down one of my favorite albums of all time (since, like a few months ago).

On the topic of metalcore, I assume you have Unearth, Heaven Shall Burn, Killswitch Engage, last FP & EP of TDWP albums right?

*Edit: March of the Mutes??? That's one of my fav songs of the album!!! ALL HAIL METALCORE! (read: Megatron)

That's why I highlighted them! I found the intro track to be redundant and the 4th to be long and boring.

Yeah same here, the debut EP wow'ed me but the rest sounds... flat and uninteresting.

Glad you like it more than I do!
Faithful Darkness was really good, a nice Melodic touch of the Death and Thrash without making awkward transitions between. Really enjoyed them.

Hm... no wonder only 4 out of 12 songs survived my onslaught... (track 1,2,4,5)

I tried giving the a shot too, including listening to Character again (yes I tried it before) and even listening to The Gallery. Nup... their 'melodies' sounds like a string of notes rather than melody to me.

Woot! please do talk about them! I'm kinda cut that you didn't recommend Clayman to me though... had to search that up myself but I enjoy the cleans and more (vocally) melodic approach a lot.

I will not forgive In Flames for playing the 0:30 melody in December Flower only once throughout the whole song. WHY SO CRUEL? I especially hate them for almost playing the riff near the end of the song... they never did.

Yes I do have something against your music library then. hahahaha. But seriously, I deal with having to delete music and apps to make more room for new stuff on an almost daily basis. So I know your pain ;) (and I have a 64gig!!)

Yeah, All Shall Perish is not particularly a melodic band, so I can see you not liking them much. They have some really great songs though.

I've liked Fleshgod since their debut album, but this most recent installation in their series, is just godly (no pun intended ^.^). Seriously, I listen to it almost too much hahaaha.

Of course I have Unearth (hence the March of the Mutes ;))!! I have been a fan of them since the Oncoming Storm. The Great Dividers was one of my favourite songs for a long time, but ironically, the song was on a CD a friend gave me with a bunch of misc metal music, but he gave me no list. Lost contact with the guy and never got around to figuring the song out. Fast forward a year or two later with me being together with my girlfriend (now wife, soon to be ex-wife) and I was playing that song on the guitar and she was like "Hey! Unearth right?!" and I was like "THAT'S WHO THAT IS?!?!" and I bought their only two (at the time) albums and found the song, and was in heaven. One of my favourite bands of all time, and have seen them like 6 times live. hahaha

As for Heaven Shall Burn, they are meh for me. Had a friend really into them, so I have heard enough, but I wouldn't own anything by them. As for Killswitch, I only liked "Alive or Just Breathing" and their self titled album because Jesse leech sang. And he was way more raw and superior to the new guy (Howard Jones or something like that lol). The new guy can sing WAYYY better, but Jesse Leech had a more raw and passionate voice. Alive or Just Breathing is still one of my favourite metalcore albums. I just can't get into the new stuff much, but there are songs I really enjoy, like "When Darkness Falls" "Rose of Sharyn" and "My Curse". Those are really fantastic songs. I simply do not do TDWP though. Could never get into them, or bands like Bullet for my Valentine and shit.

That's cool dude! No sense in continuously trying to listen to stuff you just can't enjoy hahahaah. At least you gave them a try, and that's all they can ask of you. ;)

Well if you would have asked for more I would have suggested Clayman next! Here is my personal list of In Flames albums that I would put in order from best to not the best, and the order in which I would suggest to anyone.

    The Jester Race (1996)
    Whoracle (1997)
    Colony (1999)
    Clayman (2000)
    A Sense of Purpose (2008)
    Reroute to Remain (2002)
    Soundtrack to Your Escape (2004)
Sounds of a Playground Fading (2011)
    Lunar Strain (1994)
    Come Clarity (2006)

If you like the melodic cleans and harshs together, I would HIGHLY suggest "A Sense of Purpose" first and foremost. When In Flames released "Come Clarity" I was a little shakey on how consistant of a "good" sound they would have from there on out, because Come Clarity was, in all honesty, a disappointing album. It had it's good songs, and it's really great songs, but it also was full of shit, and sounded terrible. Fortuantely they completely redeemed themselves in what I would almost consider the best modern day Melodeath album of all time. It's just... so good. hahahaah then their most recent "Sound of a Playground Fading" came out, and fell short. I didn't expect anything less though, they lost their main music writer and lead guitarist, and switched to a whole new label. Something off was bound to happen, but it too had it's good and great songs.

Their first album, Lunar Strain, is good for it's time. It was their first album, and didn't even feature Anders Friden as their vocalist (their main vocalist since The Jester Race, their second album). The vocalist was instead the vocalist of Dark Tranq LOL. So I would probably avoid that one if I were you, or at least wait when you are more seasoned to In Flames. But try a sense of purpose for your next album.

Touché, young Balu`. Touché. hahahaah.

Just PM me if you really care to hear of things about my boring life lol.

As for anything, I have not found anything of interest yet. Still looking though.

HSB's Iconoclast Pt 1 is one of my top metalcore albums of all times. Pure, harsh vocal, guitar riff feast, some pretty good lyrics etc. I find it hard to find anything to dislike about the album.

TDWP's Zombie EP is a whole different league from all their other releases. It's heavy, rhythmic and good supporting sound effects (chainsaw anyone?). At 20,9 minutes, its one of the shortest but sweetest metalcore albums I own.
Dead Throne is somewhat similar to Zombie, esp in sharing similar degree of heaviness and melodic dual vocals (...). It can be a bit too melodic and 'soft' at times though.
    ------------------------------------------------------
    Time for recommendations!

    Artas - Riotology
Simply awesome. Memorable guitar riffs, (imo) great vocals (cleans->1/4 cleans->half cleans->3/4 cleans->harsh vocals) and everything I like about metalcore.

Blood by Dawn - Upon the Horizons of Fate
New discovery. Great stuff. Worth of the title of melodic metalcore.

    Codeon - Source
Melodic/technical death. I like some of the songs while others were too technical and didn't sound like melodical riffs.

    ***DieVision - Black Deep Down***
OMG my new found obsession! Not sure what genre this is... death growls, metalcore harsh & cleans, melodeath guitars, metalcore rhythm guitar progressions, soft-ish drums (not intense, very slow for both metalcore and melodeath, sounds more like rock).
VERY GOOD STUFF HERE! Esp the vocals.

    Erra - Andromeda
Mathy/proggy metalcore with sci-fi synths. Good guitar work.

    Inhaled - Synopsis
Another well composed melodic deathcore album.

Instil - Fire Reflects in Ashes
Melodic metalcore? Good stuff. Haven't given them much attention but its one of the albums that you know sounds good by skimming through the songs.
    --------------------------------
Guess that will do for today.
