Wow... initial folk riff... I'M BUYING EVERY SINGLE ALBUM AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE!!! Omg I'm going to crack my head open trying to fit all the new music and apps into my device... *Edit: forget that. 4 full length albums??? I will be broke after that! Do all their albums sound similar?
Evocation I is acoustic, rest is pretty much like this. Glad you like 'em. :>> It's not my favorite kind of folk metal, but it's still pretty awesome.
ACOUSTIC! (sorry for caps) Gotta love that Ah... I'll now perform the forbidden arts of asking you to recommend me your favorite kind of folk metal (I can say sorry to my device later...)
The symphonic folk one is pretty good but the second one is a meh. I didn't like the vocals and rhythm guitar...
Haha, that's why I didn't recommend these at first. You generally like.. harsher music. :> While we're at folk, what do you think about this?
Correction: I generally like melodic music, but prefer harsher genres Hm... strangely captivating... I shouldn't be falling for this style of music. I mean, I object against the verse vocals, the verse guitar riffs are cheesy, but everything else I don't dislike are very likeable. Good stuff!
Maybe, but if I gave you something really melodic (like power metal), you probably wouldn't like it at all. ^^ Haha, it's cheesy, but fun and actually good.
Strangely, I never heard any power metal music! Symphonic power metal is the closer I've come to power metal. Are they similar? If yes, I might have to rent a temporary iPod Yup, fun is definitely the word there. ---------------------------------------- Want some thumping chords and harsh metalcore vocals? I recently found a lot of that stuff (aggressive and energetic!)
Well, there are similarities between them. And there is also symphonic power metal... I'd probably die if I ever said I wanted metalcore vocals, but I'll give it a shot. :>
I actually enjoyed the first one! The second one was meh, intersting riff but horrible vocals. :x Listened to the Celesty song I posted?
(incredulous gaze) YAY! Ok, so you didn't like the vocals... I actually thought they were pretty interesting compared to the rest of the metal/mathcore scene. I'm going to load you up with more metalcore!
They definitely were interesting, just not in a good way. ^^ Oh, poor me! :< Asking again.. listened to the Celesty song? I'm really interested in what you think.
Hehehehehehehe Muhahahahahahaha! Oh sorry! I got caught between the folk discussion and metalcore that I forgot about it! Mmmmm... WOW! What albums should I get? I love how the bombastic symphonic arrangements! Some ppl don't seem to like it (calling it pretentious) but I seriously dig that stuff!
Unearth style vocals. Very angry and melodic. If Booch can get pass the vocals... That should kill you for now
I don't think I've ever heard anyone call it pretentious, more like cheesy, but it's enjoyable. :> I'd go for Vendetta, their latest. It's by far their highest quality work, their earlier stuff doesn't sound nearly as sophisticated. First one: Loved the instrumental work, not that much the vocals. Second one: Better vocals, brilliant intro, good main riff. Still, too metalcore. >.< Can't check the third one, it's not available in my country.
You the pretentious stuff in some of the more critical reviews. That's gonna save me some space The 3rd one is Mutiny Within's Awake. Try it, it's very metalcore... Glad you 'liked' parts of the songs
Not nearly enough space! Booch and I could throw so many recommendations at you, that ten iPods wouldn't be enough. :>> It was.. surprising to me that I liked 'em, since they were metalcore. :x
That's why I'm not opening myself to more genres It's actually more of a logistic than personal consideration . Plus, I rather enjoy a narrow, though selected and highly refined spectrum of music which allows me to place emphasis on quality (not to say quality and quantity can't coexist). If you like those, than you could probably like most of my metalcore collection. I collect only the best songs for the genre (for eg, I took out the best 1/3 of the songs in 3 of Unearth's albums). Want more? Or do you want a break for now? Anyway, what exactly does people have against metalcore? The vocals? I actually find the genre to be exciting (the better songs of course, can't help the fact that there's too many shitty bands in it).
