Well, they don't add anything to the peasure. :x

Yeah, but check it out. I've already wasted over 50 hours with its co-op multi. :>

Meh, I somewhat get you here.. hopefully that stage will pass.

    Any luck with finding music?

    @Booch
2nd and 3rd songs in Unspoken Triumph's Vindication
Quality melodeath. Most guitar riffs are played at a flat and constant pace that sounds very good. Dual vocals is a mix of raspy At the Gates vocals and deep, heavy growls.

In Thy Dreams - Stream of Dispraised Souls
Old skool melodeath FTW! :D Songs have some very catchy (chorus) melodies that make the otherwise not-so-hot songs worth listening to.

hahahaha this thread is too sexy to die.

On the subject of that song though, it was very Accelerated Evolution-esque (imo) and it sounded great! I loved it!

Hah, it's the second biggest thread in the Lounge, we can't let that happen. :x

It really is, but it was supposed to be on Addicted, but it didn't make the cut for some reason, so now it was release on the boxset with loads of interesting stuff. :x

    Found anything for me?

Hey! Why aren't you two posting as often? It seems da two of you don't post during weekends or something...

Anyway, I'm in need for some smooth atmospheric music, preferably no/minimal vocals with minimal melodical hooks to drown out my surroundings without diverting my attention from reading. My own music library is too... distracting for that purpose so, I need help

Got any recommendations? Balu, plz throw me the slowest/most uninteresting music you know at me :p

    Exactly! hahahaah

Oh that's cool. Wish I had the money for that box set ^.^

Nah I haven't even really found anything for myself. Life sucks when it's busiest. >.<

I don't post on the weekend (Fri-Sun) because I have no internet of my own at my house. I will sneak over to my neighbors yard and mooch there's when I am having a cigarette, but I will just post or read something on Twitter or iMessage *cough* Balu` you need to get iOS 5 *cough* But other than that, I post on here when I can but it usually only happens at work.

I would highly suggest some Post Rock for atmospheric music that isn't too distracting but good enough to keep attentive to while reading. Maybe like some Explosions in the Sky, or Mogwai. If you want album suggestions let me know.

Also, and I think Balu` is definitely here with me on this one, The Flashbulb's "Soundtrack to a Vacant Life" is a fantastic album with a good solid feel to it. Very mood setting.

I briefly checked out the stuff you recommended, lemme just say that I like instrumental music of most genres and, the stuff is quite good at setting the mood but way too captivating and distracting for my cause .
    Great stuff nonetheless.

I was just expecting something with a more drone-like sound. Something like Esoteric's Paragon of Dissonance (funeral doom) which almost put me to sleep when I listened to it :p. Thick, heavy (as in sound) and slow, perfect for drowning out noise without keeping me interested.

Sounds like you need some Agalloch in your system. Download "Ashes Against the Grain". Beautiful album.

    Beautiful?

Will listen to it later. Got two free periods in school today, hope the new albums can isolate me from my chaotic surroundings (and we're in the FREAKING LIBRARY! Can you understands how annoying they are!?)

Beautiful as in, very dark and gloomy. I find that stuff beautiful ^.^

Check it out as soon as possible. One of my favourite albums.

And yes, my wife works at a library, so I know how annoying they are ^.^

    Won't ask why what? hahaha

And what do you mean, what do I label the Agalloch album? Post Doom Metal for me... if I had to label it anyways.

I'm afraid to reach a conclusion of you similar to quote Guilty Crown (anime): "Am I (you are) really a gloomy guy deep down?/." :p
(just joking of course... does music indicate a person's personality?)

Oh ok... I wiki'ed the album and it was loaded with different genres that can't possibly fit into the iTune genre tag for da album.

I started listening to it and I swear, Falling Snow could pass for a melancholic melodeath song!!! I will be sure to skip that song so it won't distract me from ma book :D

Booch is way too lazy to post from home, and I just got used to this rythm when this was only for the two of us. I'll be more active on weekends, though.

Heavily seconding Booch's recommendation of that Flashbulb album. Also chrck out Ulver's Shadows of the Sun, which has plenty of vocals, but it's worth a shot. Also, Devin Townsend's The Hummer! It's mostly just humming and buzzing noises for an hour, but there's something brilliant about it.

I need more bands that sound similar to Eternal Tears of Sorrow. Can anyone hook me up?

It even takes a lot less effort than it would take me to install 5.0. :X

No clue. All the kinda similar ones I know are really popular.

I might know some bands that sound similar, as in melodic death + symphonic + some cleans.

Tomorrow's Dead Days by Enthrope - sounds like Omnium Gatherum's New World Shadows with more symphonic elements. Very good album.

In Shadow Lies Utopia by Faithful Darkness - good melodic death with some symphonic and (overused?) cleans. I personally love the more-than-normal amount of (good quality) clean vocals and symphonic sound of it.
    ------------------------------
Also, got some time for some old skool melodeath?

Try Dust of Time by Obtenebris. Good stuff!

Well see, for me, installing iOS 5 had two things going for it: 1) I wanted it really bad for the new features and such, and 2) I could do it during work, and I would much rather do so. lol

    Like?

I shall try all three mentioned bands and give them a listenin' to. Looking forward to them! Thanks!
