I haven't even had time or internet to even look for new music for myself >.<

I know I have been slacking in the music sharing dept. My bad!

Not a big deal, I find more than enough music to keep myself busy. Still, if you get some time... :X

Anyway, what do you think of A Silver Mt Zion (and lots of similar bandnames used by them)?

HELLO? I've been spending the whole of Saturday wasting my life by watching anime and not listening to soul crushing/reaching music.
    ----------------------------------------
Anyone heard of Nocturnus' The Key? I love the album art, and the album is great. A mix of low intensity death, melodeath (well, death metal style melodeath melodies :D) and immersing keyboards that push the album into the atmospheric genre. Really enjoying the album! :D
    ---------------------------------------
If you need to know, imo Guilty Crown is the best anime of the new releases. Love the story, animation and music! (although it's not metal related :p)

    Two more recommendations:

Forever Chaos by Shadow - melodeath.

Not the most original names... but their music is #%@!ing epic! The speed of most the melodies are like... Swampwar's (Kalmah - 12 Gauge) solo, or even faster.
Seriously, their (dual) guitar melodies are so freaking fast and awesome that the non-solo sections just feel empty in comparison.
I've gotta admit, it's the fastest melodeath band I've ever heard.

And there's a mathcore/progressive metalcore band White Wings of Athena
I know you two (or is it just one of ya?) don't like metalcore, but this album is absolutely amazing. It's even better than Protest the Hero (if you liked them...).
There's a huge variation in time signature and the melodies/riffs are catchy as hell (not, an irony...).
I won't blame you if you guys don't like mathcore... Not everyone likes a genre that disregards all sense of conventional song structure.

Downloaded this album per your recommendation, and it has not let me down in the least. Really really good stuff man. I'm impressed.

Have you ever heard of In Grief? I forgot to mention them to you, but they are a fantastic Melodeath band. Very very underrated.

Also, Nocturnus is awesome. Been listening to them for a while now. Kind of forgot about them, but glad you brought them back up again ^.^

Ah... no and their name and insignificance makes it almost impossible to search even on Google...

Can you give me some album names so I can refine my searches? I hate to search specifics named on commonly used phrases so you get a whole bunch of unrelated results.

I'm so sorry, with that post I meant to post a song too >.< LOL The quality in this Video is terrible, but the album is pretty worth it in my opinion. Kind of weird but yeah it's good. The album is called "Deserted Soul".

    Pretty decent Melodeath band there.

New Thy Catafalque album out since last week, pretty much amazing. :>
One of the heaviest songs from it:

@gunxsword: Just a quick tip, when Booch recommends some totally unknown band, checking on the Metal Archives is probably a good idea. :>

Dude that song was really good, I liked it. Looks like I am going to have to pick it up ^.^ Then again they never really have disappointed me.

And yeah Metal Archives is a great place to find pretty much everything metal.

Do so! The album's called 'Rengeteg'. :>
And tell me what you think.

It really is a useful site, I use it pretty much daily, along with Progarchives.

Already on it! Having a tough time finding it though, lol.

it is, for a lot of reasons. When I get some spare time, and internet at my house, I am thinking about writing reviews for all my favourite albums. That would take eons though. lol

Are you familiar with the wonderful site, that is filestube.com?

Yeah, I don't understand how people with over 200 lengthy reviews do it.:X

As a matter of fact I am, and I found two on that site, one was removed for "Violation" and one I downloaded and all the songs were 2 minutes long, so that' can't be right. lol. I'll get it though.

Me neither, but I wanna get to that point sometime hahaaha

It's actually something that can get me motivated to be honest. I am lazy, sure, but I can talk all damn day about a good (or bad) album. Plus I know enough about different genres of music and bands that I can make comparative assessments on an individual band or album. My problem is a severe lack of time and lack of internet at home (though I have been stealing my neighbor's spotty ass internet). I love writing reviews of stuff, and I really want to get into it. It would be really cool for me.

Got any music at all for me?

I will definitely do so! ^.^

You're going to shit yourself, but I actually do have something for you! You probably have heard of them already, but if you haven't, prepare for a real treat. hahaahaha

I think you will find these guys interesting. I mean... the whole album is really out there, but it all wraps around the folk theme. Good clean vocals, great harsh vocals, great project.

Yeah, I do know these guys, but haven't listened to them for a long time now. They're pretty good folk metal, but it is really cheesy stuff. :#
