You'll grow out of it... :Ð

I have no idea, but yeah, it is interesting. Worth a listen at least.

School starts at 10 for me tomorrow, still I'm getting tired. Reading Oedipus the King by Sophocles doesn't make it any easier. >.>

Possibly. My taste for music is evergrowing it seems. Soon I'll be listening to Contemporary Country... or worse *gulp* DUBSTEP

Rofl. Nah that will never f*cking happen.

Athenian Tragedies are definitely not my forte. hahaahahaha

It's just... it all sounds the same. And it doesn't sound good. lol it mixed with things (Like what Wovenhand does) it's awesome. But yeah.

    ^.^

So Iced Earth got a new singer, and new album out next week. I just picked it up, their new singer Stu Block ain't bad. Not Barlow good, but definitely better than Owens. Haven't heard the new album yet though.

Meh, you like/listen to mucn worse stuff (even without counting Kesha). :X

Heard this a while ago, not bad. He won't be my new favorite singer either, though.

That's it for me, sleepin' time.

    ...

Don't (even) have time to read all the post now. I'm overloaded with a new year's worth of school work.

Anyway, one thing's for sure: Insomnium's Through The Shadows is EPIC!!! I love the folk-ish sound of clean vocals. Unsung is also pretty good. I especially likes how the song just seems to flow seamlessly from verse to chorus. The breakdown and clean vocals are a bit weak though.

Pre-ordered the album off iTunes anyways. Can't wait for it to download :D (Oct 21st in Aus...)

HIGHLY RECOMMEND: Insidious by Nightrage. It's apparently a melodeath album.

A warning beforehand though, the vocal (and to an extent, the album) sounds more like a melodic metalcore album than melodeath. The vocals utilize screams and a limited amount of cleans. You many not dig it, but I love the hell out of the vocals :D.
Also, the guitar melodies are somewhat lacking, or restrained in comparison to typical melodeath songs. There's a much heavier (and frequent) emphasis on rhythm guitars pumping out chords than melodies. Some of the solos also feel extremely out of place and even awkward (Cloaked in Wolf Skin 2:24), and others feel longer than they need to be (The World is Coming to an End).

Oh well, guess the two of you may not enjoy the album as much as I do. I do consider it to be an extremely well made album how, if it was labelled 'melodic metalcore' instead of melodeath.

9 days until Insomnium's One for Sorrow releases in Australia :D!!! Can't freaking wait!!!!!!!

Yeah we tend to write a lot about senseless shit ^.^

On any event, I actually love Nightrage to death, especially when Tomas Lindburg sang for them on their first album ^.^

But Jimmie Strimmell's vox were cool for their 2 albums after that, but I like him better in Dead By April, because I think that Antony Hämäläinen is the perfect Nightrage vocalist. In any event, I got Insidious like weeks before it actually was released, and loved it. But you are right, I have a hard time suggesting them unto Melodeath fan because they kind of are more "Core" influenced than "Death" influenced. Great none-the-less though.

    hahahaahaha yeah.... Chiptune is magical.

So, the new Iced Earth album? One of the best albums I have heard from them since 2001. In fact, probably my 3rd or 4th favourite album from them overall. It's f*cking amazing. I know you're not a fan by any means, but good lord. This album is amazing.

To be honest, I haven't bothered to listen to it yet. Will do sometime, but I have a huge backlog of music (including the new Steven Wilson and Dream Theater).

I almost refuse to listen to Dream Theater without Mike Portnoy. To me, they are a bunch of pussies for what they did to him. *scoffs*

But yeah, I have plenty to listen to as well while I finish up my work. >.<

Eh, I don't really care about that as long as they make good music. It's like not listening to Stratovarius without Tolkki. >.<

Still have work to do? What kind of workplace is that?!

Well, most of the time I would agree with you, but Dream Theater is simply not Dream Theater without Portnoy. It simply isn't. That dude poured heart and soul for f*cking YEARS into that band, and all he wanted was a break. But those cock suckers just wanted to keep pushing shit. Whatever. I am not in the band so I shouldn't be worried about it, but I can totally see where he is coming from. Mike Portnoy is one of the few drummers that when he drums, you f*cking know it's him. >.<

Yeah man it's retarded! hahahahaah. How dare they give me work!

I really don't think he will tbh. They really like this Mangini guy, and from the sounds of things, they really don't want Portnoy back. lol

Nah, I still had work to do when I left yesterday, and I don't have internet at my house atm, so I'm stuck looking for shit at work when I am done lol.

Yeah he's great, and smart as f*ck as a person in general. But, his drumming lacks any soul, especially in the wake of Mike P. I mean, even in the latest Avenged Sevenfold album, Portnoy MADE that shit ahahaahaha. Portnoy is one of my favourite drummers of all time if you couldn't tell...

Yeah man... it really does suck ass. Thus is the price for being poor. lol. Oh well I'll get it back in a few months time. And trust me, I am trying hard get this shit done as quickly as possible hahahah (whilst maintaining data accuracy anyways)

Meh, I couldn't care less about drummers if they don't write songs. It's a totally boring instrument. :>

    Few months? Pfew, that's a lot. :|
