    why? i think when you include creativity he is the best guitarist on the planet that i have ever heard. but for a fellow metal-head to say they hate him more than anything kinda hurts me deep down:p

    His music is just... uninspired. I admit that he is really talented, but he puts out so many albums that his talent is just used for tons of mediocre stuff.

    @Booch: Sounds good. Also, I probably asked already, but do you know Skyclad?: D

    To be honest I'd expect a lot of material from someone whose Wikipedia article lists his genre as: avant-garde, noise rock, funk, bluegrass, instrumental rock, progressive metal, heavy metal, progressive rock, experimental rock, funk metal, ambient, dark ambient, alternative metal, electronica, folk rock.

    ...and instruments as guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, bouzouki, drums, synthesizers, percussion.

    29 studio albums (and probably more, it's from wiki) for a 22 years old carreer is far too much.

    Well, nothing I heard from him was any good imo. Anyway, I prefer musicians like Arjen Lucassen. Lots of talent, many instruments and an amazing songwriting ability. But fewer albums.

    I don't really think number of albums has anything to do with it. Most bands tour extensively between each album because they need the money, whereas other people just love to write music. If you've got a lot of ideas and a lot of experience in different genres and instruments, then you've got a lot to write. Seems like a bizarre aspect to judge someone on to me.

    Or... because most people only use their good ideas, not every crappy one like buckethead.

    my guess is that you have only heard his funky/metal albums but you might be more into his mellow albums like 'colma' 'a real diamond in the rough' and 'electric tears'. not trying to convert you but one thing i found with buckethead is their is usually at least one album that everyone would enjoy.

    Arjen has definitely (and quickly) become one of my musical heroes.

    No idea what I listened to, just had a similar argument on another forum. :D
    Enjoyable isn't really good enough for me lately. Music that's new for me has to be either something completely new or brilliant (or both like Ayreon).

    @Booch: Good to hear! : D

    If your pushing Ayreon over buckethead we will have to agree to disagree on that one :)

    Ayreon is the best thing that ever happened to metal.
    What's your problem with it? : >

    Haven't heard much but what I did was pretty gimmicky but don't have much of a problem with it just don't see it being over buckethead but I have been a buckethead fan for over 15 years.
