There was once upon a time when I was actually in an indie/post-rock band. It was cool cause we all switched instruments, which seemed to confuse people the few shows we played at. LOL. I usually either played the bass or the drums, and sang for a couple songs back up, but only played the guitar rarely (Indie music on guitar = lame, Indie music on bass = win). We used to cover some Modest Mouse songs live too. It was funny, even with some of my die-hard metal head friends, they still liked Modest Mouse. It was like that one universal band that everyone could agree with. What was sad though, is like 2-3 years after we all got into them (all as in my main click of friends), they started getting overly popular, and then they *dun* *dun* *dun* Sold out and got really terrible. Bolded made me lol. hahahahah That's just too bad... MM has some extremely great songs if you can learn to get past his vocals. They are really rough but I couldn't see any kind of other vocals in their music. I'm actually listening to them right now hahahaha. New stuff isn't so great though (Ironically, you would probably like it more than their old stuff...)
That sounds interesting.. didn''t know you could drum. >.> Why is indie rock on bass better than on guitar?:> But seriously. Here, it makes sense. Well, more sense. It's either grade 1-4 elementary, then 5-12 highschool; 6-12; 9-12 or 9-13. It's a lot more logical! :# I might give them another chance, but I'm not really hopeful. :Đ
Back in the day I used to be able to drum. To easy indie rock stuff. Nothing too complicated (I suck at rolls for some reason). When it comes to metal music, I am even better, I used to be the fastest out of all my friends on the double foot bass. And I idolized the drummer for Vital Remains, so I practiced all I could learning from his videos. I used to be briefly the drummer (and singer at the same time) for a death metal band as well... but that ended quick when they used heroine and shit while at practice and stuff. That was a garbage-like experience. I can actually sing and play the drums better than I can play bass and guitar and sing at the same time *laughs* Indie rock on bass is fun because I can go nuts with fun ass scales and walks. I had some of the most fun playing bass in the indie band. Next would be playing bass in the Buktooth Slug band. Cause i was just and intricate in that band. *misses being in a band badly* I dunno. The education system has changed a lot here now too though. The growing trend is just K-8 elementary, and 9-12 High School. Seems simple enough. ahahahaha That's what I want to hear! I'll pick out songs that I think you may at least come close to enjoying. Can't promise anything though. If you don't like any of those, I will accept the fact that you hate the Mouse. haahahahaha
That's interesting - why are you programming your drums now, then? Ah, alright. If you miss it, why don't you find/join one? I'm sure there are some in the area. Yup, that does make sense. And I edited my numbers, because, thanks to my tiredness, those didn't make sense. >.> Listening to some of these.. not much enjoyment so far. ^^ Did you try Swans?
Cause I don't have a drum set, nor the proper amount of mics to record a drum set good ^.^ Time brotha. I'm sure I could always find time but it would have to be after work, and I just feel bad because my wife watches Ian all day, and when I get home from work, I am her break. Then there are the weekends, but the people I could band up with have schedules too that usually conflict with my own. If I found the right people I could make it work. Since I have joined FB I have been offered to play bass, guitar, and drums in quite a few projects. I just don't know when I would be able to get around to it... but it's really getting to that point where I just need that band connection again. hahahahah yeah they didn't make much sense at first... lol but I just figured it was that crazy over there ^.^ Blasphemy! hahaahaha if you don't like it, you don't like it. *queues Symphony X rants* Not yet, got to step away from my desk for 15 minutes and then I'll get on it!!
Makes sense. Well, if you ever do join one, I'll be the first one to hear the results. RIGHT?! Nah. US is crazy, no we. SX is awesome! Sounds good.
So in one fell swoop, my day, and pretty much life as we speak, is currently f*cked. Government decided they no longer can help us with government assistance. So no health insurance for my wife, child, and no food assistance. Also, I didn't get the job as a detention officer like I pretty much figured I would have a shot for. Also, my wife won't be able to get her medicines cause she won't have health insurance. Also, my son is f*cked for insurance. Also, it looks like it's time to get a second job. Talk abotu no time for anything right? Also, if god is the one doing this shit to me, I'd like to give a big, hearty middle finger to him. Well played, god. You f*cking asshole.
OUCH. :|| This sounds horrible, isn't there any upside of anything happened? I'm having a damn hard time trying to be positive about this. :\
There is no upside, bright side, or greener grass on the other side metaphors for this shit. We. Are. F*cked.
Well good news, my wife talked to the people of the government, and sorted shit out. We get to keep both the insurance for my wife and son, and food assistance. Thank the f*cking gods. Still, the job thing is mega shitty. But I have to keep applying and taking care of business. In the meantime, I think I will still be getting a second job. I have a guaranteed job at this place that calls people and does surveys. Pretty lame but it's another job. They are flexible with hours so it would work.
That's better, then. :> Well, that's something.. things aren't as bad as you thought, I guess. On a lighter topic, tried Swans? I'm really interested what you think.
Yeah for a minute there I was ready to kill myself, just to find god and beat his ass. hahahaaha Judging from Better than You and Power and Sacrifice, they are definitely one of the most impossible to genrename bands I've ever come across. That's great though, cause it's awesome music to listen to! Definitely unique and genrebending.
>.< Agreed. It certainly isn't happy music, though. And it takes a lot of talent to write a song called "Love Will Save You" with some of the most bitter and depressing lyrics I've ever seen. >.>
No not happy music indeed. That's not always a bad thing though. I will be listening to them more now that I am back from lunch. Had my fill of Talapia Fish Sandwiches. Noms.
What the hell are those? And alright, continue telling me what you think.. Swans are an interesting band.
Delicious. That's what they are. Hot Talapia Fish in between 2 Potato bread Buns, Chipotle Mayo, and Cheddar Cheese. *drools* Music will be put on hold for a bit. Gotta order like... a lot of money worth of Dell products. Want me to order you a laptop? What a few hundred bucks missing? AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA jk.
Hah. I wouldn't like it probably. I'm not a big fan of fish. Haha, that was exactly my first thought after reading the first part. >.<
I love me some fish. In fact, I love like... almost all sea food. Fresh or Salt Water. Especially when it is Sushi ^.^ hahaahahaha I figured as much. I am ordering like $15,000 worth of Ink and Toner for Printers. hahaahahahaha
I've never tried sushi, seems far too disgusting for that. :x I could think of more fun stuff to order for that money. >.>
