Yeah my mother was a hardcore christian and my dad was kind of forced into it. I mean no one should be forced but he went along with it. My mum threw out all his non-christian albums. It was harsh. They divorced though after 10 years of marriage. Which is when my mum stopped giving a shit, and I only saw my father on every other weekend. Thus started the rebellious teenage years shortly after and I listened to all kinds of shit. But enough of that. LOL
Don't know if it has been said but I think Bullet for My Valentine is good. Your Betrayal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qz6IMjdthr4 This one has A LOT more screaming in it Her Voice Resides http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLLclK1aPYE
I've really grown to like Seraphim as of late. Iced Earth, Blind Guardian, Stratovarius, 3 Inches of Blood, DivineFire (even though they are Christian), Primal Fear, Helloween, HammerFall. A couple that I have really like that you got me into was Falconer, and Celesty among others. Good shit. I know I missing many though, I just don't have my iPod ahahahah I've never really been huge on BfmV. I had a friend who passed away some years back who loved the shit out of them and tried to get me into them on multiple occassions but just never did it for me =/
Yeah you'd might actually like them. Pretty rad Taiwanese Power Metal hahahaah. Check out the album "Ai". It's good shit. So long as you don't mind the foreign lyrics. Never heard of Kiuas before though.
I'll check it out tomorrow, doesn't sound bad. Kiuas is some kind of power metal with partly harsh vocals and a little folk influence. You'd probably like them. : D
Yes sounds like my style of music hhahahaha. By the way, what are your favourite Folk Metal bands? Like Wintersun, Old Children of Bodom and Ensiferum (I got an Ensiferum ringtone for my phone last night ^.^). I could always use more of that in my catalogue.
My favourite must be Eluveitie, just plain amazing. Other than them and the ones you listen, I don't listen to much, though I count Falconer and Wuthering Heights as folk too. Also try Elvenking for some folkmetalcore. : DD Somewhat offtopic, but where do you get your music from?
Hero In A Dream ^.^ Yeah Elvenking is the shit. I get my music simply by google-ing "<Band Name> <Album Title> <Year (if it's a self titled album)> then Filestube" and then I mediafire them. Most of the time it's mediafire. Sometimes MegaUpload. Yes I illigally download music. F*ck off I'm poor.
I mostly just use Youtube downloaders and set it to high quality. I've never had an issue, and it's never given me viruses, so it's all good. Plus there's stuff on Youtube I haven't seen on iTunes or anything like that (ex. Human Error). It works out in the end. And I'm not too big of a fan of Eluveitie tbh... Idk, I was just expecting some screaming vocals along the lines of Ensiferum. Elvenking is pretty sick too, loving "The Scythe" right now. I swear though, no song right now can top From Afar by Ensiferum for folk metal. That stuff just blows my mind. And time for some more requests: Just give me the most over the top screaming stuff you guys have. Preferrably higher-mid pitched vocals (along the lines of The Devil Wears Prada, In Flames, Blinded Colony, Bring me the Horizon, etc.) as opposed to deap growls (Bloodbath, Cannibal Corpse, etc.).
Dark and ominous. I loved it. Kind of exactly what i was looking for really. I am really starting to get fond of that guy's work. But I didn't listen to much, just the first 3 songs from "On This Perfect Day". But I am going to get that CD as soon as I get my laptop cord. It's really good. But alas, today I am in a much better mood.
Sweet! I shall check them out later. I like happy stuff ^_^ Oh and on your question earlier on avant-garde metal, I like it just don't know too many bands. Anything experimental I try out at least once hahaahha
