Only their last one has a different one. Also, you can hear the first on Ayreon - Loser.

    Good to hear! : D
My favourites are the two Universal Migrators and 01011001. The second UM features lots of metal singers (Bruce Dickinson, Timo Kotipelto (Strato), Andi Deris (Helloween), Russell Allen (Symphony X), Fabio Lione (Rhapsody of Fire)) and more. It's probably the most metal Ayreon stuff.

Well, good for you, I guess. : DDD

Anyway, anything Haggard-like you can recommend? I'm really in the mood for that kind of stuff.

not really man, you know more about the Symph metal than I do, so I unfortuantely am out of em. Ever heard of Power Symphony?

I used to be into them when I first got into that kind of music. They are ok but you might like em. =)

Yeah that's what I destested. Her vocals are just not great at all. The music is ok but you have to deal with the vocals first and foremost.

Escape the Fate is ok. I have band mates that are really into them.

Really! Sick! I love ETF! I wasn't exactly sure how that'd go over in a metal thread, but I guess it's all good.

I've heard Massacre and Issues so far, and loved them both. I gotta check out the rest.

I personally hate them, just noticed on the usual leaked stuff site I visit 'cause some friends are big fans.

Some slower stuff, again from Arjen Lucassen. : D

Metal is my entire library, virtually (as the rest of it is rock)

In Flames are very good, so is Anthrax, Megadeth etc.

I like some of Killswitch and Avenged Sevenfold's stuff, as well as lamb of God, Dark Tranquility, Amon Amarth etc, and also Coheed and Cambria but i don't think that's really metal xD.

    + Opeth

I dig everything you've said cept teh Coheed. Can't stand them, though I have a funny story about them.

They came to Warped tour some years ago (I wanna say '04 or '05) and they were playing their set and bunch of friends and I were throwing water bottles at the stage and one almost hit the singer. So he started getting all mad and he yelled out "IF ANY OF YOU MOTHER ****ERS THROW BOTTLES AT US AGAIN I WILL FIND YOU AND ****ING KILL YOU", it was at that very second that my friend chucked the holyest of holy waterbottles at him and stuck him right in the head. He threw his guitar down and walked off the stage and that was the end of their set. Months later after I had forgotten about it I was watching some Warped Tour thing they had back when FUSE Was good, and they were interviewing him and they asked what his worst moment was on the tour and he got all mad and mentioned "The Pricks who ruined our set in Arizona" and I thought to myself, "What a f*cking pussy" hahahaahahahah

But yeah sorry I know you like them I will just never forget that about them.

Seeing any metal fan is great, but why are there so few prog/power/symphonic metal fans here?! : <

No idea. It's a rare thing to see people into it, at least from my eperience. Probably why I know so little of the bands out there is because I never realy got any suggestions cept from you ^_^

Maybe, but the weird thing is that power metal is one of the most catchy etc genres within metal and is stikk pretty unknown.

Btw, some weirder stuff, do you know the band Waltari?: D

Whats the difference? I honestly can't tell the difference between all these types of metal.

Meh, wiki is more useful than me almost asleep but I'll give it a try...
Power metal: fast, melodic, guitar and often keyboard based, double bass drumming, clean usually high pitched vocals, sometimes orchestration
Progressive metal: less fast, less melodic, often unusual rythms and melodies, clean singing more popular, but some harsh also, keyboard and guitar based sound, power metal often has prog elemeents and vice versa
Symphonic metal: orchestrated, heavily influenced by classial music, usually female vocals, often combined with harsh male, also has fusion genres with power metal

More tomorrow if you want : D

The name actually sounds familiar, but I can't recall anything. ANy good? What kind of weird? lol

There huge differences between the metals we have listed. Some of us have posted Progressive/Power Metal, Symphonic Metal, Thrash Metal, Death Metal, Melodic Death Metal, Technical Death Metal, Metalcore, Math Metal, Deathcore, etc. There are differences (some small, some huge) in the genres. But they all derive from one type, and that's metal. They are all subgenres and for me, sometimes are hard to classify bands in.
