Come on guys use something new. I've been crushing Leona Utah donkey claw rushers all day and nothing like a good salvo round to stop that lame double Leona openers.

I've originally used morden to stop Leona but I figured that shobus are effective against flimsy rushers.

Who do you think is the best boss unit? I like morden because he can win stall games but J.King do a bit more damage and support from the back line.

    What.

You mostly won that one because you had a better selection of heavy units. He had nothing to stop you pushing him back except Metal Rear; that sort of tactic usually ends poorly.

Frankly, I think you need some more heavies as well.

(Edit: Skimming through your longer video, I notice that at least two of your losses (as shown at the end) were against a guy who didn't use Patrol Robots at all.)

Read down this page for a bit of a discussion on that.

Donald Morden is really slow; not just in terms of moving, but he also takes quite a while to fire (considering that there's a good chance he'll be pushed back before he can do so).

His AP cost doesn't really matter in stale-mate scenarios (where it becomes pretty difficult to spend all your AP, due to maxed out production). His main pro is that his bucket-loads of health nearly ensure he'll get one special attack off, and that special is arguably the best in the game - unblockable damage across the whole map, base included.

I've lost count of the number of times I've beaten JKing decks with him. However, he's relatively bad against decks that rely on cheaper, more numerous heavies. Consider pairing him with at least a couple of ~400 AP units.

On the topic of non-top tier units that we like, I wonder, has anyone tried Nadia?

I like the idea of a transforming unit but she doesn't ever get used so I can only assume she's bad.

She has low health and a weak looking normal attack but her special puts her on a little mech thing which I assume increases her health and damage.

The new special she gets while on it looks fun and has a big AoE, I think it'd be cool if she were competitive (or maybe she actually is but no one tries).

She tends to die before she can transform, which really limits her usefulness.

Yeah I thought as much, but if she did manage to do it though is that unit then good for its cost etc?

Just had a quick look through the mission list, she's not in any of them as far as I could see so I can't try her out :<

I bought her (along with all the commandos).

Her first special charges really quickly, but the crawler she rides on has to catch up to her before she can hop on. On a short map this makes her useless, because she'll hit the front line right away (while still "weak"). On a long map, you still have to control something like half to three quarters of it to "upgrade" her (and while that boosts her damage, I doubt it does her hitpoints any good). Timing her, it looks like it takes just over twenty seconds to get her riding, assuming nothing stops her moving away from your base as fast as she can and you're there to fire her special as soon as it charges.

The firebomb looks ok in terms of spread and throwing range, but it sorta feels a bit weak to me. Good for mopping up squishies, I suppose.

She might be good for stacking (assuming you already control most of the map and are probably going to win anyway), but on her own, or if the enemy's already got the advantage, she's a bit rubbish.

So who's your favourite out of the lot of em? Ralf I'm guessing, Leona is all of a sudden in every match, people have noticed how strong her early game is...

That's a pretty damning point, shame really, it shouldn't be so hard to get her kitted out, would be nice to see some more interesting viable units... buff please SNK P:

    Game gone bad

Is it me or this app crashes a lot? I got a note 2. I'm writing a review about this.

It's only crashed on me once or twice in several months of playing it I think, I'm on a galaxy S4.

Yeah, Ralf. A great accompaniment to the Claw Unit, he's excellent for clearing out groups of Utans/Martians/whatever, and can mince larger units fairly quickly. Think of him as Leona but weaker and slower - but much easier to use effectively, and with better range. It's doubtful he's worth keeping in a top-tier deck, but what the heck, I enjoy using him. He's like a miniture MSA.

Note that both Ralf and Leona can take a lot more damage than you'd think, and if you time their specials right, even a MSA won't take them down.

Clark is probably the third best commando, but not quite good enough to actually use, in my opinion. Though I've seen him used in the decks of some experienced players, and on some occasions I've been beaten by them, too.

Fat Tarma gets a worthy mention, but he became pretty much obsolete to me once the Morden Robot was introduced. Although he can one-shot a lot of more expensive units, that's not one of them, and he just takes too long to recharge that shotgun. Don't think it works on Claw Units, either... I used to have both normal and fat versions in my deck, to save on cooldowns, but I've long since gathered more medals and incorporated better units.

I gather Trevor was popular once, though at the moment he's a pest to play against at worst. I consider him to be free AP for me when facing players who use him. Ditto for Nadia.

Eri's laser is great against squishies, but all it takes is one semi-solid unit between them and her to neutralise it.

Leona's very powerful, especially for her AP cost. This goes triple on short maps, where a super-early Leona is very hard to react to. She's nearly unusable late game, though (as it's very very difficult to use her special correctly when units are everywhere, and she'll die nearly instantly if you miss her reaching the front line), and a lot of players haven't mastered her early game rush (sending her blindly may be suicide - there's a time and a place for everything).

If you also have Leona you can expect your opponent to send her out very early, as in, "after one AP upgrade". They do this because they expect you to do the same, and in cases where players both use her as an opener, being first matters.

Play mind games! You can guess a lot about how opponents will react to her by remembering previous battles and paying attention to what units they have in their deck. Play around with their reactions and surprise them. You'd be surprised how often you can trick experienced players into doing something stupid.

... and of course she's great for collecting S-ranks in sortie mode. Once you've got all relevant upgrades, you can send out one of her and she'll win most missions.

It doesn't crash on my Huawei Y300 any more often than other games. In your case, I'd suggest looking closely at your RAM usage.

Personally I find it a very nice touch how if you spent sortie points to start a battle, if you're pulled away from it for whatever reason (ranging from a phone call to the whole OS crashing and rebooting), you get an offer to restart the mission without having to pay those sortie points again.

I just got an update for Android that fixes several bugs. I wonder what those are.

One of the so-called "bug fixes" that I am aware of is that you can go re-visit all stages in sortie mode again and pick up 48 medals (i.e. 3 x 16 stages) in each World 1,2,3; plus another 48 (9 normal stages and 7 boss stages) medals in Map 2 (Green World).

Anyone use Sarubia ver PM? I think it's one of those things that's surprisingly useful as a tank with an ap ratio of 40 hp:1 ap. That puts it as one of the beefiest units with practically 9k hp for only 220 ap (10k with the upgrade), no knockback as far as I know, and excellent anti-melee shots. Great for protecting squishies especially early on. I just need to find a good, cheap backline unit with high damageoutput to pair it with.

    hi there,
i have bought and maxed out that unit when it's out a few weeks ago, but only use it for a few matches before putting it into side bench.

agree that it has one of the highest hp:ap ratio, and also its steel body nature (anti-knockback) making it a competitive candidate to serve a tanker role.

my only issue with this unit (as compared against other tankers such as MKII) is its slow movement, and relatively slow and short range attack - which make it quite vulnerable when under heavy long-ranged fire from opponents team; and when the first unit is destoyed it leaves a wide time gap before the replacement unit can reach the frontier to protect the fragile units such as utan and patrol bots.

having said that, the most remarkable opponent i have met recently (which beat me 4-0, this kind of result had only happened when I was still a newbie 4 months ago...) has this unit in this deck and make a effective combo tgt with black hound, clone fio, donkey slug

pls share with us if you have already found your winning formula using this unit :)

Don't rely on Leona too much guys. It's a dead character against experienced players.

She's extremely flimsy against biker + utan combo, but even that deck has it's own problem against other players.

Dead character? I wouldn't say that. Granted, there are scenarios where she should only be sent out after a wall of tougher units, and late game she doesn't really pull her own weight.

But I've even seen her (as in, "one of her and nothing else") take out a guy with something like a thousand wins. Her usefulness has a lot more to do with the length of the map than the skill of your opponent, and while she's not a "must for every deck", she's certainly worth considering.

Does the dude standing on top of the Sarubia Ver.P.M do anything? What's the special like?

If you have updated to 1.10.1, there is a good news to old players.
You can obtain the World 3 bonus medals AGAIN. Objective: Clearing the stage in S-rank.
That's talking about 100+ medals. So generous SNK :D
