We had thunderstorms and strong winds in Pampanga. The banana tree in my front yard fell over, and the power was out from about 7am to 1am the next day. We did Siesta by candlelight! ... But no one came, so there's too much leftover food.
And this Filipino here (me) can only barely read Tagalog.

On topic post: Okay, guys. I've been giving the Snail / Slug opening a few runs, and it's a very good way to open. It's most effective against rival AP stacking decks and mid-range Caterpillar decks: the snails block most early game units, and are enough of a threat to force AP stacking decks to respond to them, and an escort of SV-001 Ex ensure that the Snails require a substantial investment to remove properly.

It has two weakeness: On small levels, you'll simply get rushed and have to rely on another strategy entirely. On mid-large levels, you have to add SamTanks and Clark in response to the SamTanks / Trevor / Snail rush strategy, and the combined spread explosions / tanking / knockback forces opponents to over-commit if they want to maintain a unit lead, otherwise they might start stacking and you can convert to a Caterpillar Rush, yourself. There's a surprising amount of counter-play and depth to this deck.

Anyway, I pose a question to everyone: Tell me the BEST and most indomitable rush strategy you've ever seen... in SMALL maps (where you can see both bases in the same screen). I always find myself sort of guessing in these situations.

going back to the game...

lately im been losing to those players with the following units in their deck:

samtank
big snail
trevor
clark
iron iso - i think this is the key coz its long range
caterpillar

they dont even need to pull out their other units =(. this makes me say what the f....oh sh*t, how the he.....while playing. i cant even release my jking and ther high ap units. last time i can counter big snail using slug guner but now i cant coz the iron iso is a good support.

electricity was cut awhile ago, but back to business again(sorry :) )

rush you say?
hmmm... my most challenging rush ingame was
opponents uses low ap units with all spread attacks with di cokka variant
...
.
1st
snail(just stalls because he uses its protect skill frequently if available)
2nd
followed by snail again+ ring laser mecha + clark
3rd
releases di cokka if available(always behind other units)
4th
releases iron iso if theres a space(he only uses once or twice on near the choke points(where you and his units will meet) ,if not sv 001 experimental...
5th
clark + caterpillar combo(clark is free from harm, enabling him to stack clarks because of caterpillar
6th
rinse and repeat until he stacks ap..

during medium sized to large locations... hes frequent with iron iso and sv 001 exp variant, but if where in close quarters(small sized location)..di cokka is his top priority to release first as support...

my records against a deck like these is 2wins 3 loses alternate.. sometimes 1w to 4L if i messed up early with iron iso positioning(critical for me,positioning is hard btw) on worst locations ever(yeah im talking to you desert with a hill in the middle stage)

if you mesed up your first MSA attack without a follow up your chances for survival is slim to none..unless he makes mistakes or coasts abit..
mid to late game that deck is still decent but if your deck is all about heavies, surviving his early assault you can probably pull off a comeback win ,

my graph of this rush btw:

on small areas

early:very strong(clustered units,he has the advantage on spread but can be taken advantage too)
mid: strong (is where he will.finish it)
late:decent

on medium areas
early: strong (be careful..he sets iron isos)
mid:strong(his army will be massive if left unchecked..will try to end you)
late: decent

on large areas
early:strong (he will try to stall a little..and end you mid game)
mid very strong (massive army stack up)
late: decent (if you survive mid game ,has many heavies and has decent enough ap buildup, you have 80% to win..depends on the damage he caused

your startup is quite deadly ... one mistake from my side, i am as well as gg. however to ppl who played with me on google platform before, they will know my startup is super conservative ... i gotta say .. almost nothing is out, only unit according to what deck my opponent have. and yes, the screen to view his deck before the game start is the key in winning the opponent. the skill is to have photographic memory of all the units he have, and immediately based on experience you could easily figure out how he would use them.

my strategy is to try to counter them once their offense reach my base and steal all their AP and one full force retaliation. of course they would be some exception in certain scenario, especially when i found out they using very strong mid/end game deck and shorter map. therefore i will need to risk all all the way offensive from start ... i couldn't take the risk of praying that i have better skill and micro management than him although on a lower end game deck ... unless after the first game and it's a rematch.

ok, i just wanna say, most important criteria in winning a game come with this priority.

1. a good glimpse of the deck your opponent have
2. figure out the size of the map and do a calculation of how much ap u could stack before the enemy your base
3. knowing how to destroy the units your opponents will apply in order to steal all the free APs
4. if all the 3 above practice by a strong opponent, the decider will be the deploy timing of MSA ... honestly luck factor is there ... even 1 or 2mm different in the location where both msa hit each others will decide the winner

about my deck ... i got nothing special to tell ... with limited medals without using real money to buy I only bought what is necessary to stay competative

Ok let me share something with not so pro players here on what is a strong deck, and it's definitely not my deck. These are 2 variants of style u could play which can give u a good start from early game to late game ... but definitely not for the surprising rush.

Variant A

Variant B

As you can see J.King is no longer needed to give you the amount of firepower and spread damage ... as in variant B shoe/karn is doing the job while g.morden is doing the tank. with correct deployment of iron iso ... even if variant B is actually doing the defensive you could hardly push it backward because j.king now can be push back all the time.

the winning part of both variant will be the skill in using your giant caterpillar and elephant slug which can give sure damage with one move all the way to the front of the line, and another strong piecing damage all the way to the end.

Variant B can be improved by replacing the sv-001 type-r with slug gunner to increase the amount of crazy fire power.

Finally my 900th wins ... my ratio dropped a lot because most players now have great stack and already found out the right strategy ... one wrong move of lack of concentration i will give a game away. but glad that I am still going strong and still competitive even among the greatest players

I wouldn't be too surprised if they implanted ads for people who haven't paid any real money for medals. All the more irritating money-squeezing tactics. If the game wasn't so cute, I would have dropped it before I got so invested in it, lol.

That's a nice strategy to diminish an irritating part of the game. Still, that translates to a whopping amount of money! Speaking personally for me, I can't justify spending that much money for in-game currency. Though sometimes I'd like to, the freemium limits they put on the game certainly make it feel like an extortion sometimes.

Yeah, snail definitely feels powerful now. I love it and I'm opening with it.

I don't have that, but when I got the Samurai warrior, I tried rush tactic with it, and at the time there were a lot of players with only heavy machines decks. It was very enjoyable to cut them before they can produce anything to counter. Or when a unit comes out, it gets interrupted by 7-8 samurai.
By the way, today I played against someone whose deck was just the three different samurai units. I wanted to be sportsmanship and give him an easier time, and I noticed that when you gun down a samurai warrior(but not when you burn him), after he falls dying, he pulls out a bomb and explodes. Possibly with harmful effect. Can someone confirm, and is this new or was it there before but just didn't notice?

My deck still consists of:
- Snail - good stalling and opening, buffer between my units and the enemy.
- Samurai Tank - cheap and effective.
- Trevor - firepower.
- Caterpillar - ram in the enemy!
- Sandbag - stall and protect.
- NOP-03 Sarubia - Wall.
- Zombie Marco - push everything away, if I'm able to have enough cover for him to survive until his special.
- SV-001 Experimental - Mostly because of the range.
- Elephant Slug - piercing long-range damage.
- Allen O'Neil - firepower. Though now I'm able to release him only in late game, when I've accumulated a lot of AP. I give preference to Caterpillar and Elephant, who can make a big difference in the balance of power with their specials.

After a lot of online matches, update and mission rewards, I've been able to save up to 319 medals, so now I can afford Jupiter King. I'm wondering how should I change my deck, I'm rarely able to save up AP for high cost units, it's one of the reasons I exchanged Morgen for Elephant. Morgen also usually eats up lots of damage in the front lines and I was even rarely having him survive to activate his special. But it's been a while since then, and my current deck has let me win a lot of times.

So I guess decks and playstyle will change every time they tweak something. Anything else of notice?
