    New Unit

Apparently a new unit, the Cat Storage, was added within new stages on the event map, which spawns random cats and like the many others we already have I doubt it will be any useful.
There are new cat-related missions too, with the 147 being seemingly impossible.
Also, there now seems to be a restore purchases option, but it doesn't seem to work for me.
Edit: Apparently I'm blind, there are new maps to complete in the event world with a lot of new units.

I've completed them all. No difficult at all and actually boring. All stages look the same.
I just use the black wall cat + Ring Laser and Red Ring Laser to pass stages.

    - Nokana Cat (500 medals): Don't buy it. It goes to front and gets killed fast before it can use the special (who takes ages). Its just like the Brain Robot.

    - Cat Storage. Haven't tested but as mentioned, probably a waste. Good to give fast AP to adversaries.

Crap update. Haven't tested for nerfs/buffs.

"Restore purchases" options in games typically only bring back permanents, not consumables. In Metal Slug Defense, that'd mean things like the KOF units that're sold for straight cash, but not anything related to medals.

It's possible the game might now start recording which units you've bought with medals from this point on, but SNK certainly wouldn't know which ones you had before this update.

This game has taken a good step by integrating a completely different game into it, however, they need it to be a different game. These cats were boring and easy, but another game could work very well.

As myself (and I'm sure just about everyone else) are sick to death of all the SNK characters being integrated into this game, why not do something else and take a fresher approach?

There's a whole world out there full of game characters to introduce into this game, not just restricting it to the SNK and Neo Geo World.

Now, I understand that the games out there might not be similar to Metal Slug, but the cats were completely different... so why not at least experiment with something else??

The Battle Cats crew have done "collaborations" with quite a number of other games already. I imagine SNK is eyeing that same list.

Ok but imagine if we had a Marvel or Capcom integration? Imagine guys like Juggernaut or Incredible Hulk locking horns with Stone Turtle or Jupiter King :D

Well the only thing that wasn't "refunded" (cause I don't really know if anything was really refunded at all) was the Korea Team, which I haven't bought again, so I'm sure I should be able to get it back, hopefully it's just my bad connection and once I get a better one I'll be able to restore them.

Anyone else having a hard time completing event world 2 stage 11? (Black bun bun with black wall cats and UFO with cat snowball) that stage hard as hell without ap max"

I found that most of the event world needs AP max to complete... funnily enough though, the very last stage, which is meant to be the hardest, is actually pretty easy :D

I eventually gave in and AP-maxed my way through to victory... I'd built up about a couple of dozen, so no big deal.

But even then it wasn't a cakewalk, and nor were the immediately following stages! I highly doubt anyone's S-ranked it without "relief supplies". Not that there seems to be any point in doing more than achieving a basic clear.

As Fio points out, the last stage of the second event world is fairly easy: the CPU doesn't send its full forces at you until you get a unit far enough across the map, so you can more or less sit back and build up your AP production until you're ready to spam bosses at it.

It's always been a fairly respectable unit. It wouldn't surprise me if you could record the same video under older versions.

He's saying he couldn't reproduce these results in versions prior to 1.35.1:

    https://youtu.be/ldcwqjWsEDg

Beats me whether it's possible or not. I kinda sorta feel like it is, even if he couldn't do it. Timing matters a lot - it'd depend on when it was sent out relative to its opponent (which further hinges on the map length), along with when each unit used its special.

the thing about giant caterpillar to be effective is it must dash thru an unflinchable unit to deal maximum dmg, but if its target flinched..the power losses..

it didnt get buffed in dmg thou.. only a decrease in ap cost and cooldown back sereval updates ago(i know cause its my main rush unit in 2v2 for grinding medals) it just got recognized again due to the release of many unflinchable unit today(augensterm/ giant slug/ big john etc)..
    (also in khus video)

althou powerful its still has many weaknesses..in the video of khu its a situational 1v1(unit vs unit battle), you cant really do that in pvp cause its a 10 unit battle.(green hazmat, blackwallcat?)can pop up in between, also the given its a risky unit cause its an ap feed if you dont know how to use it(even if you do its still an ap feed)

What I meant was that I couldn't replicate that in iOS. I know there's variables. Knowing that the damage inflicted in the video was massive (he killed sol dae rokku in a single charge) I decided to try in world 3, stage 1. I charged against the enemy's base. The Giant Caterpillar attack (4 bubbles that come out of its tongue) did little damage and the charge-attack not much.

So I'm pretty sure that Giant Caterpillar is a shitty unit it was not buffed in iOS (1.35 If I'm not mistaken).

If somebody is on Android, they can make the "World3/Stage1 Test" to see how much damage it does to enemy's base.

    About Variables:
He played against single units. Maybe they weren't fully upgraded. That doesn't change the fact that he killed boss-type units with few attacks. Usually a single tongue-spit and a charge.
How much HP Sol Dae Rokker has? Something like 35k to 40k. With that amount of damage, It would destroy the enemy's base in World3/stage1 Test. The damage was minimal.
