Here's three PvP against experienced players. I'll share the strategy. Might not be worth since there's a new update already on Android. For entertainment purposes only. In all games you think I'm going to lose in the beginning. Two Elephants combo: https://vid.me/CqNN Both elephants build relatively fast and both specials do decent damage, piercing everything with a good range. At 400ap each, I think they're a great combo. 10.000 HP is not much but it can work if protected behind Turtle Stone. Another strategy you'll see is the sandbag. Instead of having a bunch of early units to win small maps, you can use the sandbag to protect your base while you build AP. I could build a deck mostly of bosses (+900AP units) having sandbag and Red Laser Ring. Air Deck: https://vid.me/0rSf Something that bothers me a lot is how my units are pushed back due to MSA. I decided to try two air units not commonly used. The new Shobu and the slug flyer. The purple shobu cost 400 AP which isn't cheap for 5000 HP. Attack doesn't do much damage but since they stay in fight, stacking them makes a good difference. A "hidden gem" is the Slug Flyer. It has the best anti-air. It builds fast and his special does good damage. Unfortunately it returns to base, his normal attack doesn't do much damage and dies easily because of its weak HP and because it goes down and get attacked by ground units too. Green Hazmat on big map: https://vid.me/tCTl Don't have much to say in this one. The quality of the videos are kinda crap because you have to pay to save in better quality. Here you see very offensive decks with a lot of micro-management due to green hazmat. Having the Morden special makes the difference in huge maps. The green hazmat is extremely useful in small maps but you can see they're useful in big maps too. Di-cokka future ver. (blue) got nerfed I think (less reach in normal attack) but still build relatively fast so you can stack them and resist attack better than the elephants. As I said, for entertainment purposes only!
1.32 introduces a new event map involving "gigant" robots, while closing off 1.31's zombie event map. The gigants form a new meta on their own.
Best Possible Free Unit Deck? As some of you already know I lost all of my game progress so I have to start all over again, so I was wondering what would possibly the best free unit deck be? I have hardly unlocked any unit as of yet but I'd like to plan ahead. And of course I've also bought some medal units too (Hyakutaro and the Ikari Warriors (With the latter replacing my old Mai/Iori/King combo I guess (Leona=Iori, Ralf=Mai, Clark=King))). My current deck is: Hyakutaro, Sv-Camel, Di-Cokka, Leona, Ralf, Clark, O'Neil Jr; Slug Trolley (Oh, yeah I also bought this), Mini Hermit, Di-Cokka Morden. Of course I'm eventually gonna buy the Slug Armor and maybe the Smasher but which units should I eventally replace with unlockable free units? Oh, but not only that I'd also (as the title says) like to know which would be the best Free-Unit-Only deck out there, just out of curiosity. Edit: Also, good news, I contacted Google Play support and they're refunding everything!
If I were to start over, I'd be downloading the oldest version of the game which offered a limited-edition event unit (1.23... I think?), and playing that until I unlocked it. Then updating to the next such version, and so on. Medals I'd save until 1.29, where most everything worth having is half price. There's no point in online battles until most POWs are unlocked again anyways, so the extra time it takes to get up to the latest version would be relatively unimportant. Catch is you wouldn't be able to get the old versions from the Google Play Store. There are backups of past builds online, but you'd want to check the integrity of your sources before trying them. Your current deck may not be the best for collecting POWs. Leona for eg will S rank most stages for you, but about half the bonus nodes are out of her reach, and she'll probably walk past half of the ones she can hit without striking them. I'd concentrate on levelling her and Ralf up and then using them to unlock the daily units - Samurai Planes in particular are great for hunting with, and should be within your reach by the time you've sucked up all the POWs from World 1 (if not before). In the meantime, regular soldiers can grenade-spam most areas of a map. I wouldn't know what the best free deck is, but I'd imagine it'd include Dai Manji, the Blue Hi-do, and Donald Morden. I'm also partial to including at least one zombie.
Hmmm, thanks for the tips, just one thing and sorry but, how do I get older versions of the game? Do I have to download them as a different game? Or are they installed to my game? Then what, do I start all over again? And when I get what I need how do I update?
Android apps are installed from APK files - you figure out the game and version you want, download it (from a webpage you believe is trustworthy), then use your phone's file manager to open it. This then installs the package (after throwing up the usual "are you sure?" messages). If you already have that app, then it'll get replaced by the version you install. If going backwards, you need to delete the newer version of the app from your phone beforehand (in order to remove any existing save data, which won't be compatible with the older version - so yes, this is a "start over" deal). When going forwards, you don't delete, you just install (meaning your save data carries on with you as normal). This is more or less the process you use with games from Humble Bundle - if you've not looked for Android games there, I suggest taking a peek every now and then. Obviously you need to configure the Play Store app not to automatically update your apps if you want full control over your game version. Once you're ready to start sticking to the most recent one again you can change that setting.
Thanks, had no idea I'm kinda new to android. I don't really have a problem with starting again as I only have a couple of days in. So it's just like installing something on your computer but on a phone. Just one thing, is there any important update other than the limited unit ones? Like free medals or something? Maybe I should simply download the next update to that one until I find something interesting. And also is there any limited unit other than the ones you unlock (Purchasable basically)? And if I recall correctly the units introduced store in the past event were gonna be limited. Yet I can see them in the store right now. Oh, and one last thing, will I also be able to purchase medals with discount in the 50% off event?
1.31.1 gave 30 medals in "apology" for a Tapjoy bug. I dunno if you get them if you skip that update. I'm fairly sure all the other medal give-aways aren't locked to certain versions, but I could well be wrong. I don't think anyone's researched the matter. Some people misinterpreted SNK (... somehow) and spread around that idea on their own. The actual deal is that units marked with the "event" bubble are more powerful when used in event stages. The Blue Hi-do, for example (only obtainable from the event prior to the past event) was marked as an event unit during the zombie event, too. In terms of buying medals with money from the online store, I'd assume their prices aren't tied to your game version - I could be wrong, though. When buying things with medals in-game, however, discounts are certainly tied to your game version.
OK, that's all I wanted to know, anyways, thanks for replying, really helpful. Now off to get back on my feet! By the way am I the only one who thinks Clone Eri is underrated? She's pretty strong and spammable I don't really think so in Wi-Fi vs but she's pretty useful in PvE. I recommend it to anyone who's just starting the game. Oh, and another unit I consider highly underrated is the Ptolemaic Slug it's got a great range and useful special. Also, I have an Xperia Z1, anyone with this phone can confirm me if the Backup & Restore app works for saving your MSD progress? Or does it just restore the app itself? If so is it possible to do it, cause I wanted to download Helium but it said in the description that Sony diabled third party backup apps for Xperia Z. I really don't want to lost my progress again. Ooh, and a last thing if there was someone in here who's still in the 50% off update and could tell me if the medal prices are also with discount I would really appreciate it, if not I'm gonna buy the medals asap.
1.32 just came to iOS. Any help getting the Slug Gigant parts? EDIT: Nevermind. Figure the parts are in the last map of each stage.
How's the game now? Meta is just like this: Have two or three units to protect your base for small maps. Build your AP, release one of the Gigants and that's it. Keep building AP and release boss units. Any unit with less than 20k HP gets decimated.
She's a staple of my decks, but isn't as good as she used to be. Two things work against her these days: there are now units which can block projectile attacks (King's special, for example, can redirect her vomit laser into a weird sort of blood-clump), and the level cap went up (meaning she's less likely to deal enough damage to actually kill stuff even if she hits with it). (Likewise, raising the level cap from 25 to 30 knocked out the utility of lots of other cheaper units - I blame it for the overload of "tons of boss unit" decks seen these days. The attack bonus granted per level seems to be out of balance.) I mean, sure, in PvE those things aren't factors... She's great for collecting stage bonus icons. Samurai Planes are similar in that regard. Online, an early rush of Clone Fios (alongside faster units, eg Slug Armour/Leona) can make things very difficult for an opponent on longer maps. She's good for maintaining a lead, but not so good for obtaining one, and if you haven't won by the time the boss units come out her usefulness wanes. 1.31's event added a number of zombies, all basically the same as Clone Fio but balanced with different power/cost levels. I suspect one of those might be a better bet than her, but I've not really experimented with them yet. Told ya. I suspect they'll be hit with the nerf hammer come the next update (as new units so often are). For now, 1.32's giant robot event is just as much online as off. Actually, it might take a few updates worth of nerf hammers. I guess we'll see.
Ummm... But I was talking about Clone Eri not Clone Fio... The reasons I like her are: Cheap but resistant. Sure, it's a light unit but that doesn't quit the fact that it can take quite some punishment from other light and even medium units before dying. Spammable. She regenerates relatively quickly, by the time one has been killed you'll probably already have other 2. Great special. It regenerates pretty fast, has decent range and pierces through units dealing decent damage, usually killing other light units. And with it regenerating that quickly and having a great range it comes pretty handy for rescuing POWs. Once you've stacked multiple of them behind any resistant unit like Leona you're guaranteed to really pack a punch. Another one I consider pretty good, as they're pretty similar, is the SV-Cammel. Almost the same but costs a bit more AP however it's special seems to make a lot of damage. Same deal, just stack some behind an unit to tank damage for them and you'll decimate everything with their special. Those are just my opinion, I'm not really sure if they're as good as I claim, but they're nonetheless fun to use.
Oh, Eri... Don't mind me. Pretty popular when she was first released. If I'm not mistaken the point where she mostly went out of fashion was when Ralf came along; certainly he made her lose all value in my eyes (what with the way he fires her special as her regular). The camel (and its close relative, the ostrich) aren't bad if you're hurting for medal units. Their decently strong and fast-charging special does a lot to make up for them otherwise being very weak - splash damage is always nice and the thrown grenades are handy on certain stages for killing dangerous units hiding behind meat shields. I don't see the Ptolemaic Slug in action very often; there was a bit of use when it was first introduced, but that seemed to die out very quickly.
The update was good. I am not spending 500 medals on that new unit though - the Gigant is way stronger and was free.
you might want to reconsider.. rebel gigant special hits harder than slug gigant.. some(or most) android players uses them both
