I don't have a problem with the event... nor do I have a problem with the amount of POWs you need to free. What I do have a problem with, however, is the amount of play points every damn level takes of you. I played level 5 on the final mission today, and it took 70 damn play points away, and no POW was freed. It seems the idiots over at SNK make stupider decisions with every update.
Sortie points, you mean. Even at 70 points a go, that's about twenty attempts a day. Maybe more, depending on how many crates you get clearing missions. There's no need to rush, that's plenty. Also consider that your reservoir caps out at 690 (assuming you haven't been lazy in building it up). You don't exactly need to spend all day looking at your phone in order to ensure that no points are wasted.
I finally managed to get Red Tar Man http://i705.photobucket.com/albums/ww51/WrongLuthor/rrMzvbbe5s.png It's one hell of a support unit, but I'm still way outgunned by mostly everyone who has three or more boss units... Damn those Big Johns...
There is a glitch. You can restart the stage without spending sortie points. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YqpWkN9QfE
The only stage that seemed unreasonably stingy with POWs was the Zombie Tarma one, I had to use the restart trick there to save sortie points because it would take a dozen tries to get a drop. The other three were pretty easy to complete.
Lost all my stuff. Anyone has this issue too? I installed an "update" and as soon as it finished downloading I'm met with the game's intro and I'm sent to Wold 1 Stage 1 with only 100 Sortie Points... Now this is really shitty as I had a ton of premium units, all KOF characters, S in every stage, and about 100 wins in Wi-Fi Vs. I've spent a lot of time and money on this game and I don't want it to go down the drain. Anybody else has this problem? Or am I the only one? Another thing, I don't know if it's related, but this happened after I launched the game, the screen instantly froze and I couldn't do anything, the phone started overheating until it ran out of battery. After that I can't recall if I tried to play MSD but as far as I'm concerned I did manage to play the game before this. I already put this in a review in the Google Play app page and hopefully will be read, if not I might have to send an email or something. I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this issue, if I'm not the only one that means SNK will have to do something.
It's been known to happen - with this game and others. I'm not sure it's within SNK's power to "fix". All I can say is backup early, backup often.
Well I hope they can fix it, and if not, at least restore all my purchases (and hopefully my limited units). If not even that... maybe I'll have get them by my own means...
Deleted data As some of you might know, there is a chance that your game data might be deleted when updating, whenever I heard this, the victims always seem to be using android devices. I've never heard anyone mention data deletion on an ios device. Can I get some kind of confirmation from your guys experiences of this occurring problem? I personally think it's a android only thing
Yep, I'm using Android, however, it didn't seem to be a normal update, it took and awful long to download, which makes me suspect that, for some reason, the game decided to uninstall itself, taking with it all my progress. I never did anything, I didn't moved it or whatever could have caused that, it just randomly happened...
Did this "update" occur "in-game", as in, while MSD was running? If so, then that was it trying to fix itself after deciding part of it had become corrupted. Actual game updates are installed by the Google Play Store.
Nope, all I did was launch the game and it told me I had to download additional files which was weird since I had auto updates off. I turned on Mobile Data to download it as I wanted to play (but had no connection) and see what was all that about but it got weirder when I got to the game's Google Play page and it didn't say anything about a new update. So I just waited until it downloaded, which took a lot for a normal "update" and Bam! All my stuff was gone. But I guess then it did got corrupted when/before the screen froze as I launched the game as I stated in the first comment. It sucks that I lost all of my stuff, specially for something I had nothing to do with (Like I said, I didn't move any file or download anything weird, there's absolutely no reason that should have happened, unless MSD was jealous I started playing Fallout Shelter). I already sent an email to [email protected] but they haven't responded [yet]. Hopefully they'll be able to restore my stuff, otherwise...
Damn, why are there so many hackers in 2v2? Only played against several people and two of them were just outright cheating. I mean, who can possibly have a Crablops as the first thing to come out of your base? I was fortunate enough to be on the hacker's team but damn...
I remember once I played (I'm not hacker btw) and as soon as the 2vs2 game started, it immediately let out 2 of my purple J Kings. How do I know they were mine? They have the blue glow going off and you can't see the units glowing unless they're your units. So there was something weird going on. I didn't even get a chance to play it properly... it's as if someone hacked into my device and was controlling the game remotely.
Likely the game had a bad shutdown when it attempted to write your save data. Yes, it'll take that as an excuse to redownload about 34mb of data before allowing you to play again. If you're lucky, they'd have a record of any purchases you made via their Google Play link-up (for medals or specific units). But any medals you earned by playing? They'd have no record of them, so unless they've got some sort of gifting mechanism and are willing to hand you a random pile of the things, you're SOL. Remember, this sort of thing can happen with ANY game. Now'd be a great time to think about a backup system for anything you care about.
Damn, I wish there would be three Di-Cokka Mordens whenever I started 2v2 matches. It was horribly unfair for the dudes that were on the receiving end of three Crablops right off the bat.
Well, I finally recieved an answer, and apparently they won't restore anything, not even purchases...
Can you please post up their email back to you - just the text so we can identify exactly what they said?
Sure: Dear Mr. Avila, Thank you very much for contacting us this time. We unfortunately do not restore all customers' game data on the basis of MSD's Terms of Service( http://www.snkplaymore.co.jp/us/games/apps/metalslug_defense/terms/ ) even if the customer lose local game data. Thank you again for your understanding and great support to us. -- SNK PLAYMORE USA [email protected] And yes, I indeed read the Terms and they don't restore purchases, and yes, we're talking about a game that has no way to backup your progress (unless you use third party programs), curious huh?
