It would be funny if someone had an entire deck of the different Mordens that physically show his face
Leona's fast, and indeed can single-handedly S-rank most maps in the game, but she's been nerfed a bit since her glory days (as have many units) and can be more easily overwhelmed - especially in these new stages, which make heavy use of shielded soldiers and spam ranged units early. In some of them, you're better off not bringing her along. The stages you're having trouble with will likely boil down to two designs: ones where there's a single large bosses you need to deal with, and ones where the enemy spams units at you. I dealt with the bosses using characters with invincibility frames. Leona's special obviously grants her these, and Ralf has the same deal (though it doesn't last as long, and usually gets him into even worse trouble). This lets you "dance" them past eg The Keesi's giant engines of doom, and then they can then make short work of the enemy base. The rest of the time, you want to want to let the enemy feed you, then drop some hard-hitting units that can steamroll the map. There are so many being sent against you in some stages that a single MSA will probably boost you to well over 1000 AP, but you should ideally be sending out anything with a decent amount of range and a piercing attack so that you don't have to wait for one of those. Try to get any hidden map bonuses, heck send out some regular soldiers to throw grenades if you can't think of anything else, these maps tend to have a lot of them right near your base and if any AP tanks drop they'll be a big help. Once you find yourself with a decent amount of AP, instead of increasing production, go straight for something like the Rootmars Slug, which although slow, fires its special often and pretty much kills everything every time it does (which in turn will give you another load of AP, which you should then use to upgrade production). That allows units like Leona (or the more durable Slug Armor, if you have it, which also happens to be quite fast) to push your front line forward very quickly while you accumulate your cheap glass cannons behind them. The zombie's vomit lasers are a good piercing attack. Their lengthy invincibility frames granted after a knock-back, during which the special still charges, often allow them to fire it in cases where by all rights they should've been wiped out. You should have Zombie Marco by now, so give him a shot if you're low on "decent" units.
I appreciate your detailed response. I still think it will be very hard though. You see even if the larger units with penetrating abilities are released, these units generally move very slowly and won't reach the enemy base and kill it quickly enough to get the S ranking. The only way I find I will be able to beat the enemies that flood us is to flood them right back with as many units as possible, lead by Leona. After sending out a few units, then just flood them with Leonas - one after the other. I still don't think I'll be able to do it without AP max though.
Think of it as being like going up against a player who actually uses the Commander - you pretty much jump directly into your "end game" unit deployment patterns right away, because you're handed a lot of AP early. It doesn't matter if your big units are slow. They're fast enough, and unlike the cheaper units they tend not to get killed, so you only need to wait for them to walk across the battlefield once. Exactly how big you should go depends on the length of the map. Sure, stack fast and weak ranged units behind the big guys, but weak melee's just going to get lost in the chaos. You've probably noticed that Leona really doesn't achieve much online once AP production has ramped up midway. She's an opener who works in the right situation ("it's a short map and your opponent doesn't have one of her counter units"), but many of the stages you're talking about might as well be tailored to demonstrate her weak points. She'll walk up to a shield soldier, and either blow her special or get knocked back (doing nothing against his invincibility), and then get wiped out by the row of tanks standing behind him.
I once again disappointed in the SNK, because they have not returned cloud storage. More precisely, did not return a normal cloud storage, which automatically saves the data to the cloud without erasing their own process. Tired to be afraid, that all data will be erased due to some failure.
Now on Tapjoy discount given more medals. I took a few sentences and bought almost all the bosses, but I play very little in recent times.
Is Mai worth the investment? She's on sale for only 150 which is relatively cheap and I notice most good decks have her. You see the thing is I already have Leona, so is it worth having another little girl in my team? The bigger headache for me will also be whom I relegate to my 2nd deck in place of her!
Of course I bought her, even though she is not the boss. I think she is better than Leona. Leona is easy counter by Iori, unlike as Mai. Also thinking to buy a King, but I think it's a matter of time, perhaps they are now strong, and a couple of updates will be average, the SNK is nothing new in this regard.
I guess if that's the case, considered with the fact we're getting 20 medals a day for a short time, I might as well invest in her. The trouble is who do I take out of my deck?! I'm thinking the slug chopper... although it is good to have him in my deck for air support. Man this is a headache.
Let me give my opinion about new units: - Jupiter King MK2 He is a melee unit. His attack rely on trowing a missile with his hand. Don't know what damage it can do but's not worth it IMO. Get the Bull Drill instead. - Flying Core: Not much HP but it's not a problem since it flies. His special doesn't do much damage. His normal attack is slow but causes a decent damage. The only new unit worth having IMO. - Mask Soldier: Like Commander. Summon some metal units that doesn't do much damage but the special (from the summoned units) has piercing damage (like Iron Nokana). - Allen Jr.: Weak HP and doesn't do much damage. When he dies, he recovers and goes melee mode. Don't know what to say. It's free and you can test it yourself. Not worth it. - Morden Di-cokka: Still waiting a few days to get it.
Must disagree. I think the Bull Drill is very weak. I can take it out with 1, maximum 2 Leonas. As for the J King, the initial missile might not be that powerful, then the kick from the explosion which throws about 4 or 5 fireballs into the air do a great deal of damage. It's good when you have clusters of enemies swarming in, and that's what has been the case lately with the newer stages having flood clusters of enemies.
You definitely need to take out the slug copter. It doesn't do much damage and its AP value shouldn't really be that much.
The problem I see with Jupiter MK2 is that, being a melee unit and a high AP-cost (900AP), the unit is mostly used during mid or late game. During that time, most players already developed a bunch of units with long range attacks. When Jupiter MK2 tries to attack, most likely he gets knocked-back or gets killed before he can do damage. At least that's my experience playing with and against it.
Right now the Flying core is a great unit and is also stackable. A great support unit. If you want a cheaper version of the slug copter try using the mini ufo. Its a mix of support and offensive. The only con to the mini ufo is that it has low hp and hovers around the battle field which sometimes puts it in the front lines.
Any Metal Slug Defense Veterans to help me? I need advice for the new event that just came out yesterday. I already beat the first 3 areas however the boss area is impossible. I managed to beat the first stage with no items and the second one with an AP Max. item. But then, when trying the 3rd stage, not even with the Ap Max. Item and the Fever Relief Supply (and spamming Sand Bags) I was able to complete it. My Units are: Sandbag Lv: 20 Soldier Lv: 1 Mars People Pocket Lv: 10 Hopper Mecha Lv: 1 Marco Lv: 20 Tarma Lv: 20 Fio Lv: 10 Eri Lv: 10 Fat Fio Lv: 1 Fat Eri Lv: 1 Ostrich Slug Lv: 1 Sv-Camel Lv 1 10000000Taro Lv: 1 Native Lv: 20 Mars People Lv: 20 Samurai Tanks Lv: 20 Abul Abbas Lv: 20 3-Ton Truck Lv: 20 Morden Bus Lv: 20 A.P.C. (Special Force) Lv: 20 Regimental MH.6 s Lv: 10 Commander Lv: 5 Parachute Truck Lv: 1 Giant Caterpillar Lv: 20 Allen Jr Lv: 20 Allen O'Neil Lv: 20 Di-Cokka Lv: 20 Nop-03 Sarubia Lv: 20 Sv-001 Lv: 5 Slug Copter Lv: 1 Mini Hermit Lv: 11 Mini Jupiter King Lv: 5 Mai Shiranui Lv: 20 Iori Yagami Lv: 20 King Lv: 20 Vice Lv: 20 Mature Lv: 1 Athena Asamiya Lv: 1 Sie Kensou Lv: 1 Chin Gentsai Lv: 1 Terry Bogard Lv: 1 Andy Bogard Lv: 1 Joe Higashi Lv: 1 Ryo Sakazaki Lv: 1 Robert Garcia Lv: 1 Takuma Sakasaki Lv: 1 Yuri Sakazaki Lv: 1 Kyo Kusanagi Lv: 1 Benimaru Nikaido Lv: 1 Goro Daimon Lv: 1 Big John Lv: 20 Gen.Morden Ver.Di-Cokka Lv: 10 Donald Morden Lv: 20 Crablops Lv: 20 Sol Dae Rokker Lv: 20 My current Decks are: Native, Samurai Tanks, Mai Shiranui, Iori Yagami, King, Giant Caterpillar, Big John, Crablops, Donald Morden, Sol Dae Rokker. And: Mars People, Samurai Tanks, Morden Bus, Abul Abbas, A.P.C., Commander, Regimantal MH-6 s, Allen O'Neil, Donald Morden, Sol Dae Rokker. I normally use the first one in Wi-Fi Vs and the second one in Sortie when rescuing pows but I decided to use my first one for this missions. I tried replacing the Native, Mai and King for a Sandbag, Allen O'Neil and Di-Cokka Morden and like I said using the Fever relief supply combined with the AP Max. and the Satellite Items and spamming sandbags & other units but it didn't worked. I have about +1000 Medals (and will get more if necessary) I'm %100 willing to spend in items and units to beat those stages I only need to know which items and units should I get to beat those stages please. Also: I have freed every POW in the first map and almost every POW in the second map (I only have to free Stage 10, 11 and Final I think). I haven't goetten past the second level in Map 3... I have everything in Home upgraded to Lv: 22 Please, I'll do anything to complete those stages.
@Hideous_Ex Try to be more specific in your question. Your deck seem decent but not completely upgraded. Keep upgrading and try again next time. See if you can find some videos on youtube explaining how to pass certain stage. It's not going to be easy to explain a bunch of stages.
But I already upgarded all of my units to Lv: 20... The problem is I get swarmed before I can even send a good unit. I guess like you said Imma have to wait until someone uploads videos of the event boss stages. Also used the third deck that was full of KoF characters to create the following one: Samurai Tank, Mai Shiranui, Iori Yagami, Parachut Truck, Giant Caterpillar, Big John, Crablops, Di-Cokka Morden, Morden, Sol Dae Rokker. This is pretty much what I think I'll use with the Ap Max. and the Fever Upgrades but I'm not sure yet...
Aight bro.. I'm gonna drop some wisdom so listen carefully.. (1st) u gonna need a shit ton of MSP...& I mean a shit ton..millions & millions actually.. Trust! after getting that u MUST upgrade all of ur units to LVL 30. Not 20..not 25 .. "30"(U can do this by RADING the worlds so u can upgrade All of the ones u want to use!) - All of the Boss units for sure! (2nd) u gotta rescue all the POW's from all the worlds that are not in the special event! To get all the benefits from them.(u have to do this if u want to stand a chance) . (3rd) know what type of deck/style u want to use! I say use: Robert iori King Mai Takuma parachute truck crablops Morden sol dae rokker & u should have elephant slug already unless u just started then u need to wait till u get it. Great free unit! Don't use the clock forward hack cus u will mess the sortie counter & it will never go up & u won't get any MSP. The other units u have r really not that useful! Maybe a few r ok to use but this is what I would use if I had those units available from the list u have provided. But no matter what deck u build it won't matter cus u r not fully updated to level 30 on UNITS & MAX @ HOME so get grinding & im sure once u achieve this, u will have an easier time beating the events. Also u don't need to spend a dime on the game! Just be patient & do one thing at a time! Start by getting all POWs in all 3 worlds. Save ur MSP for the HOME upgrades & after u r maxed out then u can upgrade ur units lil by lil.. The SORTIE MODE is a bit easier cus the units are somewhat weak but they get tougher as u go on. Upgrade ur units as the events start getting challenging or u can not longer advance! Good luck & hope this helps! (Btw i would take advantage of the sale & get brain robot, hair buster riberts stone turtle hi-do & other half off units..)
