Greetings all. ('w')>I used to be a 3 star in wifi battles, but lost all my data when i switched from a droid to the iPhone 6+. Last time I played the meta was somewhere around:
claw unit, donkey slug, patrol bot, utan, r shobu, varied air units and a bunch of bosses.
I'm currently grinding through sortie without using any medals, but I want to get back into the fast and furious world of wifi.
    - What are some current must-have units for wifi? I've heard Iori, Hi-Do and Rootmars are must haves, but don't know about others.
    - I've heard stuff about a bonus depending on your deck's unit affiliation (10% something for PF). What is this, and where can i find info on it?
    - Are there any links that you heavy users regularly visit with unit or meta info?
Sorry about all the questions, but info on this game is kinda limited. Thanks, hope to see you on the field soon.

Did some testing of units, here is what I found.

I tested units on the third world, area 9, 1st stage

    Crab Tank: Buffed
Its standard attack now does more damage but not to where it is capable for competition. Is now capable of killing a zombie woman with one shot, the other two zombie types with two shots. Couldn't calculate the shots for Tarman as the Crab-Tank shoots so slow.

    Ring Laser Mecha: Buffed
It's standard attack was increased in damage by a lot! It kills all three types of zombies with one shot and two shots for Tarman!

    Elephant slug: Buffed
It's special is able to kill all zombies with one hit!Though this might have been possible before the latest update, back then I clearly remember the special would kill all three types of zombies but would leave Tarman flinching.

    Slugnoid: Nerfed
I not sure about this as I had little time of using it before the new update came out. Now it seems (for me that is) to shoot slower. I say this because I noticed after attacking it seems to "shake" in about 1 frame before it attacks again. That little shake is what I believe to be a frame of its walking animation.

Thanks a bunch! I don't really feel like feeding regular wifi players by using my sandbag deck (lol) but I guess the best way to find out is to look yourself. Interesting seeing Hyaku go from great to bad to great again. Always liked Daimon as a character.

Hello, I've been playing this for some time. I thought this forum is helpful since it has so many posts so I'm new here, I hope the almighty senior member HYUN could read this because his posts are detailed. Anyway I thought I could get some help for my deck, I'm trying complete my deck (just two spaces to be filled). Here's my deck

    Deck-
    Mini huge hermit
    Tarman
    Samurai tank
    Samurai plane
    Airborne Melty honey
    Morden (tank)
    Rootmars
    <Blank>
    <Blank>

Note: before you say samurai plane is attrocious, I only used it for free prisoners in world 3 (they're like ninjas!)

    Units I'm considering to add:
Vanguard becuase he's like self propelled artillery with thick butt armour, Robot morden useful even when "killed", patrol bot I heard they're great for countering KoF units, Hunter walker same role for patrol bot to kill KoF units or Iori for early game (no?)

    Units I'm going to replace:
Samurai tank with ??? they work alright along with Tarman in early game so I dunno what.
Huge hermit with bear or Elite arabian solider or those shielded soldier because they look great.
Samurai plane with R.R shobu or slug flyer, can't tell what to choose.
Please don't say replace Rootmars because during the release of this alien, there's debates whether he's the rivarly of Hi-do and alternatives at that time. I spent about 500 medals to get Rootmars so don't tell me to get Hi do or Stone turtle unless it's important.

I have about 340 medals left. Too bad I can't refund have medals

The teenager zombie hasn't been released (yet). I hope he's good as Tarman. Like he could hit air units since his attack came from squirting above his heads.

    good pvp units

ok bros, senior forumers have been absent *including me* in the forums for days so ill try to help you with the units thats rampant on pvp..
    (competitive units on 1.21. 0 pvp( 1v1)

    kof units

iori-(nerfed..easily flinch now but still the strongest melee infantry)
    goro
    mature(nerfed..long special cd)
    kyo(buffed on previous updates)
    benimaru

    infantry/starter units

    hyakuraro(nerfed..althou still widely used)
    slugnoid(nerded)(still used)
    lv armor(nerfed)(still used)
    girida o
rebel zombie(usage effectiveness depents on skills)
    sandbag(i use this thou)
mortars(just be careful of goro)(needs precision now because has many counters)
    drill slug
nadia(only useful when its riding her slug)

    tanks

    di cokka f
pt slug(has good medals to actual use on pvp ratio)(cheap on medals and effective)
    slug gunner
    protogunner
    shoe/karn

big bosses(a must have if you want to be competitive on 1v1 pvp nowadays)

    rootmars! (no need of explanation)
brain bot(for 330 medals.. quite good special)
hi do(if you wanna take rootmars down fast)
metal rear(in a few specials, can help takendown hi do)
stone turtle(mother of all walls, 350 medals is a bargain)
donald morden (a good free unit that carpet bombs all over the map)

    miscellanious units/(either for support/offense/defence/skill users)
elephant slug(been.buffed on previous updates, a good rootmars killer along hi do)
zombie marco(i think has a special.comparable to elephants fireball)
    clone fio
    caterpillar(buffed)

these.in my personal opinion. are thee most seen competitive units on pvp now.. i think i miss some units too but it will do for now

Yeah, the iron nokana mkII were fun to use. I noticed the description for Iron nokana mkII says the production rate is "very slow", while iron nokana ( red one) says the production rate is "slow". Is there a difference between in production rate between those 2?

It takes 13 seconds for the Iron Nokana MK.2 (green) to be able to use again. I don't have the Iron Nokana (red) so can someone else confirm the time it takes for it to be able to use again?

Hello, sorta-experienced metal slug defense player here.

I've got some questions regarding units.

Is the vanguard any use as a late game unit?

How is the native compared to hyukataro?

Are the nokanas good for anything? Better than giant caterpillar?

Is the elephant slug more useful than shoe or karn?

All hackers in online games with vs multiplayer should go to prison and that's no joke. They ruin online multiplayer games, they cause more lag, website crashing, app crashing, computer viruses, freezing, and many times are the same ones that commit identity fraud and hack to steal people's money with cyber crime being the big majority nowadays. The dumb thing also is that as far as the online multiplayer game hackers, their wins are not real wins and they have no skill and are just not only wasting everyone's time but also their lives. Another thing is every time there's a new update, hackers make it harder for non hacking players to test changes that are in the game such as units that have been nerfed or buffed other than when players test in single player mode.

I don't have iron nokana (red) either and I never see it used in matches so I have no idea how fast it produces, in comparison to the green one. I guess we will have to wait for other members to check for us.

So far both Iron nokana aren't that popular online. I think there are better units for ~400 ap range. Shoe/karn are excellent 350 ap units and you can't go wrong with them in your deck, but I am using elephant slug for fun in 2v2. As chigga64 wrote about in earlier posts, the fireball special from the elephant slug is very useful in 2v2. The elephant slug is pretty strong for a free unit.

    ill try to help bro..
about vanguard.. its an ok unit, personally i havent have one but hes special is a penetrative projectile and its decently shoots far..only downside is his standard attk is kinda meh..

hyakutaro>native.. due to dmg..because 1 special hyakutaro that hits is totally worth it than say 5 natives combined, native althou has higher hp than hyaku, its also easy to kill

today.. ill say caterpillar is by far better than nokanas.caterpillar provides cover, huge instant dmg and decent standard attks.msa blocker too

elephant and shoe/karn has different roles..(ok for everyone too its important about unit roles in the field..a lead, wall, dps, aoe dmger and so on.. a balanced combination of it can give you a higher chance of winning)..but about your question
shoe/karn: dps category, they break units down hard(wall breakers)..because of their ability to dish out strong repetitive bullets in matter of seconds..
elephant: spread aoe dmger(like a skill user or caster type).. an excellent backup unit that penetrates(special).. if your fighting a rootmars, its a good counter along with hi do..elephant helps chip away hp of opponents hp so your units can have an easier time killing them..the best free units for me as of now

    btw.. welcome in this forum

    about nokanas

red is more useful now than the white/silver..
    es

red nokana has 5k burst special, walks faster.. is alot tougher and easier to produce than the mk2.. althou i havent tested them yet in this update tho..

When you mean easier to produce, do you mean it takes shorter time for it to be deployed again?
