Again it is wrong and still should be pointed out that units that cost a lot of medals can be overpowered or better than units that cost way less or even free especially since all units can be obtained in the game without spending any real money. Just because the argument that "devs do it all the time" doesn't weaken or prove that my point is wrong or that it shouldn't be addressed and exposed. Yes the motive or their reason is money but still doesn't mean to not point out the wrongs. Yes it's true win people respond by saying that if we don't like it we can always leave or stop playing but the wrongs should still definitely be shown and exposed regardless of wether we decide to leave or stay. Especially when a game is good enough and worth pointing out the mistakes so that it can even be better than before.

With all due respect, but most of the oldest members here have faced a lot of nerfs to the meta units. Tar Man, Natives, Trevor, Snail, Iron Nokana Mk.II, Utan, Donkey Slug, Claw Unit, Hover Units/Commander, Patrol Bots, Leona, Bear, Mortar, Hunter Walker, Sam Tank, all popular meta units that were nerfed. Yes, I understand the frustration, no one likes it when their hard earned medals are wasted right? Well, SNK does need to maintain balance of the game and it maybe shady of them to nerf them when they milked as much "medal" profit as they can, but let's be honest, would the game even be fun if you had all the same meta game? The thing I liked about the nerfing of Utan, Donkey Slug, Claw Unit, Iron Nokana Mk.II, and Patrol Bot insured other decks can survive and encourages diversity. While I agreed some units are nerfed too hard (E.G Tar Man), it is a necessary evil for SNK if they want players to keep playing. Frankly, I believe SNK does a good job on catching onto the meta game destroyers and put the nerfs on them. As players, we should adapt to the new changes, it has been this way with most multiplayer games. I would rather play a MSD where nerfs are frequent to meta game units compared to a MSD of where you're required to use that units. Also, I'm not sure if I could use this logic (From TCGs), but the phrase goes; Weak units are fundamental to the game. Yes, SNK's pricing system is a bit weird, (Flying Parasite, who would pay 100 medal for that poop?) but it is literally impossible for a game to always have "good" units that are worth the price. Also different units may have appeal to other player. Heck, I remember when I was like the only one using Karn and Shoe in the game, as people back then thought it was bad (400 AP, 9k HP, they have come a long way). Maybe it's wrong of me to say this, but MSD is very akin to a TCG imo, and diversity encourages new strategies that would have never existed. Who would have thought Nadia was gonna be such a good Hyakutaro killer? Some units are "bad" because they don't fit your deck. Some units are "bad" because the right deck or strategy doesn't exist. Now, we obviously have different opinions, you bring up fair points, but it looks like we're just gonna have to disagree civilized.

    Well said, Hyun.

and brother KillSin, welcome to the community first of all. as one of the first generation players of this game, i am one of those mentioned in Hyun's post and can testify the rise and falls of various units, which goes in sync with my frustration in time. still, we have gone through the tough periods and remain strong.

btw, i think i have no objection at all if you decide to complain to SNK, afterall i think they have prepared an official fb page to receive user feedbacks (in addition to announce news), its your personal user experience after all and totally respect that. chances are that SNK would not change this style of buff/nerf pattern tho (as theres also a majority which favor the constant attributes adjustment to make the meta more diversed as hyun has explained)

about what a unit should worth, again, this is also a very subjective view. no one (esp not SNK) ever guarantee that a unit's ability would be proportional to its medal cost. and also one could not exclude the possibility that some players would purchase a unit at all cost regardless of its ability, purely just because that it is his favorite units. in fact, purchasing the right unit at the right time is also an art.

as a passer-by, however, i think the best way to hedge against this risk of unit buff/nerf is to not purchase a unit when it first come out (wait for user review and observe from wifi games whether that unit is commonly used and how that unit in oppenents team fare against your deck), and also save up medals to a certain level at all times, so that even if your wrongly purchase a bad unit, u still got some back up medals to immediately fix your deck.

    good luck with MSD

Thank you for welcoming me Chigga64, but like Hyun said as we're gonna have to agree to disagree without a vicious circle of posting back and forth and never getting anywhere. Just for the record though. I am very familiar with MSD also as I've been playing MSD since it first came out and familiar with all the units that have been nerfed and buffed. I am currently ranked 17 in the world with a 4 star rank. Nobody likes people who brag or boast about themselves but I just mentioned this from my opinion and experience sake and so to shut the mouths also of those who might say that I'm just looking for excuses for why I lose sometimes even though I know there are people who are ranked close to me or better that are more along the lines of you and Hyun's thinking. Like I've said before, I like the game a lot and just want to see it get even better. No offense taken by me at all of you guys and hopefully you and Hyun feel the same. Also just for the record I respect Hyun's tier list of the units and consider it as I've built decks in the past and even up to today.

Buy Leona then. She only uses 80AP and re-generates fast.

I've noticed a lot more players now are using that hoping machine and the PoW character. Is there a reason for this? Have they been buffed?

Hey, Kill, no offense is taken, but quick question. Are you iOS or Android? The ranking system is separate from the two communities, there are a lot more 5 star generals in android (More than 16 thats for sure) and chigga himself is a pretty high ranking 4 star general as well. (Me, just a three star)

Joseph1234, nice review on the pf units! I think augensterm is useful, but it seems to get destroyed relatively fast (even in a pf deck). Is the augensterm special any good? My unit dies before I can even get close enough to activate the special.

Would you say the slug gunner is better than sv-experimental? There both near the 200 ap range and Im not sure which one to keep in my pf deck.

yeah.. augen is usefull but not to the extremes.. hes good alongside allied units but not on its own.. 450ap is extremely high on early games(where hes most effective) too so its abit difficult to pull off..must have a deck that specializes augen.. and about slug gunner..just like augen, he plays many roles well but falls short late game.. pros is its standard attack is buffed greatly and he seems to be more durable than usual.. i think he has the strongest dps (dmg per second) among pf tanks..

Interesting, they finally brought out the sprite of the unused boss from the possibly rushed Metal Slug 5.

I remember seeing that graphic when Metal Slug Database was still online and there was a fansite that was dedicated to all the unused content from all the Metal Slug games.

    I wished it had a cooler attack though...that stomp looks a bit...bland.
