maybe its just the premiere unit, the other ones must be covered behind its back because of its size.. jokes aside, its practically impossible for them to let just a single unit on an update, there must be more edit: sorry i didnt get your post earlier, that aside.. it has the iconic machinegun in its head.. probably like a machine gun fired augensterm style
Thanks for the tips about the well soldiers. Yeah i'm terrible with units that have the miner come out to set up the unit. For some reason I always click it too late or enemy destroys him. Hmmm gonna try your set up and see if I can get the well soldiers to last longer. Getting Iori has made me so impatient in this game lol. I'm always trying to rush nonstop to win the game early, but its definitely the longer matches that are more fun. Looking forward to the Rootmars slug! I hope it doesn't cost too many medals, but I'm going to guess 300 medals? I wonder if they are also going to release the Brain Robot in the update. Maybe keesi too if we are lucky? I know someone on this forum really wants Keesi haha...
no problem man.. you just need a very solid early game for well soldiers, thats all.. about the root mars,yeah..lets hope its affordable
Great update, one of the better updates for a while! Inital thoughts, the actual review will come later after some time: Rootmars Slug Amazing, wow, was first skeptical of its 500 medal price, but its definitely worth the 500 (300 kinda since we got 200 for free). Eliminates Patrol Bots with absolute ease with his special, does insane amounts of damage with his normal attack. Brain Robot Wow, once again amazing, might be the push for Martian Deck and is still amazing standalone. This thing is absolutely the best melee counter imo, that bus attack does a lot of damage Future Rebels Meh, not amazing as the rest, but damn they have a lot HP for humans. They also seem to do an insane amount of damage for their AP cost, don't underestimate them. Final Thoughts: Man, missing the Keesi, I'm gonna hold on until next update before fully giving up, the Brain Robot release gave me some hope. Also the auto mode is only available when you complete the level (Not sure if it requires S rank or not, someone confirm for me). Auto mode is extremely useful for determining how the AI behaves on Wi-Fi and you could observe to find weaknesses in the A.I
I got 2 out of 3 guess right for this weeks update lol. The units look promising. Hmm which to buy first.. Anyone liking the new units? 500 medals is a lot for the rootmars! Just looking at what the stats say for the production rates of the future rebels... They should be decent. Got to edit post.. Hyun left a quick review right before I posted haha. Next update you'll get the keesi!
It would be nice, if in the game on Wi-Fi, auto-mode is automatically activated when the player takes no action within 5 seconds (for example, did not even move the screen). AFK is big problem on 2vs2. Now mode is possible in the campaign, for me personally, it has become a great tool for the mining of MSP at 6 level on world 2.
Quick question= Is the game reward 3 medals everytime you do wi-fi battle regardless of the result? If so, that's awesome. I also wonder how SNK will balance the game this time. I hope they didn't nerf patrol bot. I am just 30 medals short of that unit.
3 medals for every 20,000 experience points. Also Rootmars eats through Patrol Bots like nobodies business, so I would hold off on the Patrol bot purchase. Edit: I could kinda see why the Keesi isn't released yet, it just ate through a Rootmars in 2 shots like its was nobody's business
New bosses for me became a pain in the ass. Now I try to remake my deck under them and not yet obtained. However was able to save up on the brain robot, but I still continue to save to Rootmars. Because, just as there are options to confront the Brain Robot, but Rootmars except himself does not know.
Brain Robot serves as that extremely bulky, good damage boss unit, while Rootmars is there for its board clearing special.
So I've tried some of the new units, and here's what I know of them. Rootmars Slug is the most costly unit ever released by SNK, with a whopping 999 AP to deploy and the longest redeployment time (4x Donald Morden), which means you'll probably only get one over the course of an entire battle. It has an extremely wide hitbox despite being considered long-range, meaning it is almost impossible for it to not take damage apart from spamming melee units or other in-your-face blockers. Though, having the second largest HP pool in the game (according to the in-game stats), it'll last long enough for you to pull off at least one special, which is the big draw for Rootmars, as its special is akin to Zombie Marco/Clone Fio's special, but with more range and less recharge time. It does share some similarities in function with Donald Morden's special, however, despite its appearance, the range on its special is not infinite; on small maps, it can easily hit the enemy base, but on larger maps, you may find it hard for Rootmars to get in range, unlike Morden whose carpet-bombing can hit everywhere on the field regardless of range. Its standard attack is relatively basic, but still effective due to its high DPS. Overall, this unit is a definite game-changer if you can successfully use it. Brain Robot is a slow and massively bulky long-ranged unit, with the highest HP in the game. Its normal long-ranged attack is slow, but does a fair bit of splash damage and can swat down aerial units. Its close-range attack may be a disadvantage; while powerful, it is horrendously slow to use and leaves it open to attack, much like Big Shiee's special. Its special attack is good for pushing back the opponent's frontlines and can counter infantry spam. Despite costing less AP than Donald Morden, it has a 25% longer redeployment time. Mini Jupiter King is exactly that: a miniaturized Jupiter King. It has the exact same attack as the regular Jupiter King, but with a massively reduced range. The one advantage it has over the original is that it has a faster production speed. With all these good late-game units, I am struggling to decide which ones to use in my deck. Rootmars Slug is pretty good, but it shares some overlap with Donald Morden, and having both in my deck would displace some of my early-game units. My setup so far is this: 1) W. Mortar 2) LV Armor 3) Special Force(Rider) 4) Iori Yagami 5) Airborne Melty Honey 6) Ptolemaic Slug 7) Karn 8) Shoe 9) Hi-Do 10) Donald Morden I've been trying to experiment with Ring Laser Mecha to see if its piercing attacks are worth something, as I didn't like the low HP of Clone Eri and Clone Fio. Also I've been playing around with SF Rider as well, to see if it can take the place of W. Bazooka soldiers and Iori.
Ouch... to many new units... So let´s try to test them! (but no medal left now...) First test will be the f. Bazooka... If he has infinite range like the w. bazooka it will be amazing! Will be bougth on Saturday!
Rootmars can be a game changing unit. My team was spawn trapped at our base and we only had a slight tick of health left (another donald morden special would have destroyed the base). Then I spawned Rootmars and that thing just soaked all the incoming damage while we spawned our units and drove the other team all the way back to destroy the base. Wish I could have recorded the gameplay! I was a bit skeptical about the 500 medal price, but its well worth it. Thank you SNK for Rootmars. Just dont nerf it! Does anyone know of any major nerfs (besides Iori) or buffs ?
Decent options now?... Has anyone put together an alien deck worth mentioning? With all the new units and a good mix of the old ones, ill bet there is enough to cover early/mid/late game and get that 10% hp buff. Any thoughts or strategies? Thanks everybody!
