As someone who plays all kinds of different games on a variety of different platforms, I can honestly say that a big part of the reason I like these old games is that they are MORE FUN than many new games.
did not see that coming either, and i would happily pay $7 for it, i mean, a lot of japanese ports cost around $10, this is pretty much the only one that's worth it. maybe FF too.
No meant disrespect to anyone, I was just pointing out the fact about ios gamers. iOS gamers are cheap that's all. We haven't even seen a gameplay vid (before Sanuku even posted his impressions and we have some people already making their mind up because it is $7 Anyway, I can't wait to grab this when it comes out tonight.

Nice, you can adjust video options such as aspect ratio, scanlines, and disable or enable "pixel" rendering. It is universal BTW.
Metal Slug 3- with iCade support This game appears to be a MAME port of the arcade version. It's playing fine on my iPhone 4S and iPad 2. It's also universal for the iPad, and supports iCade! When the iCade becomes active the on screen controls disappear for an authentic arcade experience. The touch controls are responsive and adjustable in the settings to move the buttons where you'd like. All in all a great port by dot emu. Well worth it.
