  1. Implemented this today! Thank you for suggesting it!!

It broke the Little Ben level. See replacement below. OK?

WHY? I want to understand... (I'm making it a menu option because I don't understand)

Cool idea, made my iPad mini sweat :)

    I love this description :)

I've been using the Mekorama menu so much that I'm sometimes surprised, and a little disappointed, when swiping in iOS just slides the app icons left or right :p

Oh how cute! B keeps its balance on the ball!

I can't decide whether this is a bug or a feature. You can type your own name once, for all future levels. Maybe I should only disable editing of the + card's level name but leave the author name editable?

I recommend this as well. You'll need to "buy" one of the IAPs to activate hints, but in beta it'll say "test purchase, no charge" or something to that effect.

QUESTION: Are the collision sounds annoying? Sometimes the physics is under stress and produces a huge number of collisions. I haven't been able to come up with a good way of not also stressing the player out by also playing a huge number of sfx. Anyone have any ideas?

I made a level to illustrate what I mean. Some tiles are just too hard (or impossible) to touch if you can't tap while rotating and don't have free rotate. For example, you can't solve this while you're on any of the pre-defined angles. EDIT: forgot to attach the level!

Yeah, not sure. I like being able to name a level before creating it, but when it remembered it for the next level it made me think that I'd accidentally overwritten my first one.

Regarding collision sounds, they're a bit grindy on a couple of levels that I made, but mostly I haven't had a problem.

Looking forward to getting a new beta version now and seeing the changes!

Crush on you seems to work fine. Obviously haven't got the latest changes, but you might be able to fix Little Ben by adding a hidden Draggable which is connected to the slider but can't actually be touched (like I did with Frogger).

Out of the new levels, Cup Toss by Mr Bez is my favorite!
Multitouch is nice but it kind of ruins my perspective maze level :( Oh well!

  5. It's the Odd Bot Out dude! :D

My kids are going to love this, looks pretty fantastic and the creative freedom will be great for them as well, to make levels and whatnot. They've dived into Toca Blocks and WON'T STOP PLAYING IT when they have screen time.

I can't find anywhere where there's a release date... Any ETAs on that? If so, maybe putting it on the App description on the front page of the Upcoming app description would keep people like me from asking for it haha

  6. Good to hear. Your clever mechanics for back-n-forth movement made the most noise. Hopefully the new auto-slider feature will resolve this!

This illustrates my problem too. If you have free-rotate, you can design levels that require it. If you don't, you can design levels that work best without it. With free-rotate as an option, you can't do either but people will do both

Personally, I think a free-moving camera leaves the problem for the user to solve, when it could have been solved in the level design instead. I guess what I don't quite get is why so many request a free-rotating camera when I designed all 50 levels to work without it?

It's not my first choice of name, but I will wear it with pride!

Also, Toca Boca are (is?) great.

Soon? I work best when not stressed, so I have a strict no-deadlines policy ;)

Put it where on the what?

5 more levels to go to finish the game, but I want to make some more levels, but I want to put some thought in them, it's not easy to come up with something special.

Just got the update in and when you wrote is anybody still reading this makes me LOL ha ha very funny.

Gonna try the new levels and still got 5 more to finish.

Wow, lots of changes in the update! I like all the new levels, but a bit sad to see the old Modern Art go, I liked that puzzle. I suppose the original one could have been a bit too abstract though. Bug fixes are great, as they always are xD
It's really great to see issues getting addressed so quickly and effectively.

Finished the game, the End was funny, great experience this game so lovely.

I think the free camara movement is great, I like it way more than the before camera set.

  12. Yay, someone read it all :)

You and me. I was so proud of that puzzle. I even wrote a Python script to try all possible configurations of the "sculpture" to make sure it only produces one unique code!

Well done! And glad to hear the menu option idea might work.

I'm going to post another TestFlight update, as soon as iTunes Connect finishes "processing" the binary, because I got a crash bug report about 3 seconds after posting the previous update

Swipe to flip the page is still not seeable after the new update on my Ipad Air, I didn't know I could swipe after the first five levels myself ha ha.

  14. Here's what you're supposed to see:

    1. "Bookmark" in upper right corner says "1/5"
    2. Your curiosity is piqued and by scrolling you discover the "Swipe to flip page" message

Is the message not showing at all on your iPad? Or is it still too subtle you think?

Yeah the1/5 is enough I think, when I first played the game their was no 1/5 so it's good now.

People need to discover things that's part of the fun or not.

Here is another simple level, don't know what else to make ha ha:

  17. Lol! Mekorama was missing a Tetris reference, now it has one :)

I happened to make a pool type level too, inspired by TheGreatEscaper's Spin Cycle:

Hi Martin, do you plan to add more levels to the 50 you now have or not, or do you wish that people make lots of levels with the QR codes, wonder how that will take off, do you make a special Facebook page for user created levels or what are your plans about that.

Agree with TheGreatEscaper that I miss the old Modern Art level a bit, but I totally understand. You can still make the original available by QR code after launch, maybe?

Have replayed the base levels and I think it's a really good set. The hints for the Sarlacc Pit are a little "on the nose" but I think that they probably need to be, and it is level 46/50.

I think I miss the multi-touch more in the level editor than I do when playing levels, but the Free Rotate compensates for that just fine.

Haven't had chance to really play with the new slider yet, but I can see a lot of potential. :)

  20. I was dismayed when Odd Bot Out got 1 star reviews because it hasn't been updated! But I learnt a lesson, and this time I'm planning to add more levels in an update. Unless the game flops. Then I plan to cry.

I'm hoping people will come up with new ideas and mechanics that I hadn't thought of (especially given the new slider) that I can use as inspiration for the level update. Sort of like how you guys did in this thread :)

Yes! It's already live at facebook.com/mekorama

In fact, it would be great if you could try writing a post on that page and include a QR card. I'd like to know how it works when someone who is not the page's admin posts.

Also, to everyone who posted levels in this thread, do I have your permission to feature them on the Mekorama Facebook page?
