Thanks I'm going to give it a shot since I never tried it before.

Why is 2 & 3 so highly regarded?

    Also how is 4.

What about 9 and 10? Porting them should be easier right? They don't have to dig the sprites from ages ago, maybe those could actually work...

This question is coming from a newbie to Mega Man games, and my curiosity really had to know why this franchise became a 1-star review.
After "rock, papers, scissors, spock" my decision went with #5.

Does it difficulty wise matter which enemy i start with? I started like this, going clockwise now...

PS: I've played way worse controls than these. Actually, i get along quite well this far. On the other hand though, i have no experience at all how the game could/should be played, but so far i'm really enjoying it.

I would google megaman 5 boss weaknesses. That's how I beat the game. Once I had a weakness of a boss I would do that level.

I know these aren't the greatest ports but for someone like me who doesn't have an emulator and commute and travels a lot I love having these simple games on the go.

On the plus side thank god for the unlimited continues on normal and checkpoints

Thanks for your tip and with all my respect, but that does not make sense in this early stage of the game. Figuering out the boss' weakness by ourselves is part of the (frustrating) fun. I say frustrating because this Star Man is beating up my ass in no time. Yet. Just saying, i toy around with the speed options and very important, i learned the very helpful sliding.

Fully agree on the (pretty quick) continues, lol, this helps a lot to not throw my iphone to the stars.

Edit: phew, beat this fothermucker after 40-ish tries.

Part of the problem I see, if I'm not mistaken, is that (apart from the framerate issues) the games are fundamentally different from the originals. Things such as timing of jumps and rate of fire to things like how many hits an enemy takes or certain boss weaknesses are completely different.

This is awful if you're expecting to play the same game you've played for 30 years. In that game, you have the timing down, you know all of Guts Man's secrets. Now, it's like someone moved all your furnitiure a few inches in different directions, randomly, and with most of the things in your house. You find yourself stubbing your toe often, and it just doesn't feel like home AT ALL.

The frustrating thing is that it looks so much like your home that those small differences are just so damn irritating, and therefore much more glaring because of it.

Put all that alongside the awful framerate and janky controls, and it's no wonder people who were looking for a port of one of their favorite games feel so insulted.

I imagine if you've never played Mega Man, or haven't played it in a couple decades, this will be a pretty decent game. 3, maybe even 4 stars. If you've got a broken toe from violently running into your Toad Man end table, however, 1 star isn't few enough.

Actually mm3 should be regarded as the miltestone of the series since things like dashing and rush were introduced in this... It was actually my entry to megaman serires or rockman for that matter since that what I played back then... I truly believe it grown popularity only after 3...

Love this! Super analogy. My only Mega Man experience is Maverick Hunter X on the PSP, which was great. So I have no strong feng shui feelings about MM1-6 - but the frame rate is almost offputting enough on its own. I may end up giving one of them a try somewhere down the line though. Even if only to justify using an emulator...

I completed Mega Man 3 Mobile. After I got used to the touch controls, which didn't take long, and put the speed to fast (which seems like normal speed to me), I was able to breeze through it thanks to the infinite lives mode. Since it was actually pretty enjoyable, I am now thinking of getting another despite my previous post. Anyone care to share their opinions of Mega Man 4, 5, & 6 on any platform? I've played them all, but I don't really remember anything about them other than that one time we rented Mega Man 4 for the NES, and my brothers and I could not figure out how to charge the Mega Buster (we were idiots). I'm looking for these qualifications: not that difficult (In recent memory, I would say 3 is easiest, and 9 &10 are hard AF with 1 & 2 somewhere in between that spectrum.), good music, and fun/useful weapons. I'm leaning towards 4 due to the music that I remember. Thanks.

Played through Mega Man 1 and beat it, but it was more frustrating than fun. The first section of Gutsman's stage with the green levers took about 15 tries (as opposed to once when playing the Legacy version on the 3ds). The "combat" on each level is easy due to Mega Man's life meter taking very little damage with each enemy hit (unlike other versions). I could go on and on (like many others have)...Even beyond the poor frame rate, it just isn't the "Mega Man" that some of us grew up with. Really hope Capcom responds by revamping this mess.

Why are people buying these games?

No one should be buying them.

Don't support this garbage cash grab.

I think a lot of people (including myself), were really looking forward to these being released and bought one before any reviews were written or impressions were given. Can't imagine these are selling very well now that the cat is out of the bag.

    Very well said.

I finished #5 and i had quite some fun, as well as some frustrating stuff. I don't expect Capcom to read this, but my gaming life could have been made easier with some more efforts to the options, at least. Let me place the d-pad/buttons myself, opacity and leave the cursor on the speed options or place it in first position.

As a newbie to Mega Man i would rate it with 3 stars as it is. There is also no GC for time or score. And since hard mode (only the bosses) is impossible for me, i already deleted it. I'm still glad i gave it a try.

How do you beat Dr Wily without the old Nintendo cheat?
The old Nintendo cheat is shooting him with lightning and pressing select nonstop when it hits him until it drains all of his health! #
