I love the look of the gameplay, but outside of that I actually couldn't work out what I was supposed to be doing. I just drove around, didn't see another vehicle and shot nothing.. I think I missed something? The vehicle physic were good though. The sound will get on people's nervous, the constant revving sound everytime you touch the pedal even when the truck is already moving at speed. Plus it seems the truck sound is always just ticking over even when you manage to get it to drive. Granted it does look nice but until the steering and sound let it down. There was some textures that slipped through that were more than the idea size. They have been adjusted and will hopefully quicken up some of the loading times. If the issue persists, I will look into what I can do with how much art is being used and see if we can start to remove or combine some of it so less has to be loaded to start play. d.) We do not have control over how long the ads are but I do think we can look into how frequent they are playing. I will talk to the others on the team and see what we can do about that. The AI definetely has some quirks. We are actively looking at making them a bit more intelligent to avoid the occurrences you have pointed out. -- I am also going to be adding a third control set that offers players arrows for left and right turning. I have also added a option to turn off the gas and brake pedal sounds (They are there to be a response to hitting the button. During our testing we found that there were times that having some sort of verification that a button was pressed was better than having no sound) I also made some of the options menu more clear as to what the control schemes are for. You probably should load up the Level Editor and put some invisible Wall so someone can`t get as far as I had managed to get. Besides that the Game is solid but those couple of issues really make it kinda look worse then it actually might look like at the current moment. I somehow believe that instead of an worldwide Launch an Soft-Launch might have helped more to fix everything before the Game was released out into the wild. The patch notes are as follows: Version: 1.0.4 – Maximum Overdrive Patch Notes Steering sensitivity now starts at double the max of what it was. It will also scale between 0 and 5 times the normal input. This will hopefully allow devices to be more finely tuned and give a more reliable driving experience. All maps have been revisited and through a combination of removing and replacing assets, load times are significantly better. All maps are now under 200MB, meaning more devices should be able to load and run the game much more smooth than before. “Overdrive” has had a revamp. The map is now smaller but keeps the same feel as the older version. This is aimed to give you more action and less driving around unattested. Lighting has been redone and is now more unified and complete. Collision has been revisited on all maps and was remade to fit the levels with much more detail than what we had been using before. The Bot logic is now using its way point system to the fullest. This will result in less times that a Bot will get stuck in a corner or is caught in a loop, doing donuts. Bots do still suffer from not being able to reverse, meaning they will sometimes drive up walls to “turn around”. Filling a single player with Bots is now three Bots, instead of two. Added an Arrow control scheme to the Options menu. This will give you a more familiar approach to controlling the vehicles. Added options to turn on and off the Gas and Brake sound effect while drivng.
