Not sure if it's been mentioned here, but they announced the release date. April 12th! http://rsg.ms/IdmTag
Good work but the game is the same of the pc version, I don't notice improvement. Iphone4s is more powerful than a pc of that time!
Ever since I upgraded my Mac to Lion I haven't been able to play Max Payne -- a yearly ritual for me. So glad to get my fix in a few days. I wonder what younger gamers are going to make of it, though. The gameplay mechanics are decidedly old school: linear levels, no regenerating health, no cover system, no "missions," crazy-hard boss fights. I personally love it, but I can imagine some folks being taken aback.
I've never played this game, but I've only ever heard good things... So may just check it out anyway. Also, if it gets into the top charts, Rockstar may allow other games to be ported... I'm looking at you Vice City/San Andreas!!
I think they're already looking at that anyway, regardless if MP ends up anywhere near the top charts. GTAIII did well enough.
Funny to see all the Vita fanboys popping up for this one. Obviously there's been a crapload of great games on iOS over the last 3 months, with another bucketload in the horizon. But it's definitely nice to see a classic that is unavailable in other portable systems .
So is the story good in this one? I Don't know a lot about the series except the last one was supposed to be a let down on the series.
The plot itself is nothing original (and kind of preposterous). But then again you could say the same thing about most film noirs. What really makes Max Payne special is the atmosphere and the mood. The dialog is incredibly over the top (in a good way) and the characters are delightfully cartoonish (with the worse goombah accents you've ever heard). There's a hint of a mythological/supernatural background that never amounts to much, which is disappointing to some but not me. The characters stay with you after you shut down the game, which is a rare thing. And of course the gameplay is awesome .
