This has come up before I think. I agree -- if Max Payne works, the sequel will be a no brainer. I played Max Payne 2 on the PS2 and enjoyed it, but even if I appreciate the gameplay improvements (especially the Havoc physics engine), it never connected with in the same way that Max Payne did. The original game is truly weird; there's more than a hint of supernatural horror to the proceedings and then there's that drugged out platforming sequence that would have been fit rather well in Silent Hill. Max Payne 2 played more like a standard action movie. L I'd still buy it, though .
The first time I played the original MP, near the beginning when you're on your way to meet Lupino and are looking through his occult books, I had thought that the game might be going to go down the supernatural path; it was actually rather disappointing that the game went and played things mostly straight after that. I can guarantee that one of the dev discussions was, or is going to be, whether or not they should junk the "platforming" blood maze parts of the dreams from the port, considering that they were the least favourite sections of roughly the entire gaming community (not all the dreams, just the tedious blood path/bottomless pit bits). ^_-
I appreciated the idea behind that level, but the execution was pretty horrid. I would be surprised if they get rid of it, though -- it's one of the most memorable moments in the game if for the wrong reasons .
First Sniper: Ghost Warrior, now this?! This is simply great to hear, I hope more and more console/PC developers recognize iOS as another platform that they can develop their games on.
so you know what MP3 is like right? nobody knows barely anything about the game, and actually the only fact is that it picks up right were MP2 left off, so it does have a lot in common with the 2 previous titles.
Max Payne 1 and 2: Stylised, over-wrought film noir stories with supernatural overtones, about a cop battling betrayal and conspiracy during "storms of the century" in New York. Both stories written by Sam Lake. Max Payne 3: Action movie about a chunky, bald, bearded gentleman belonging to a private security company, who must fight off South American gangs in Brazil to protect the family he works for, with the story taking place eight to twelve years after the end of the first two games. Story not written by Sam Lake. While screenshots have recently been released showing "original" Max in what will likely be flashback levels, nothing has been stated by Rockstar about these, so the only official information we have right now is about baldyman's adventures. People liked Max Payne for its distinctive style and tone, not just because it was an action game that had bullet time. The third game might turn out to be a surprise, but right now, as far as the officially-released information goes, in terms of direction they're heading about as far apart as you can get without changing game genres entirely. There's a gameplay trailer due to be released on Wednesday next week: with any luck, that'll allay the fears of the fans, rather than reinforce them.
Please, please, please leave out the levels where Max must balance himself on pipes laid out in maze form, one wrong step, death and do over.... My vote for best stage to ruin tempo, ever.
Should have some new information on this in the coming weeks guys, hang tight, February 29 at 12:05pm From http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/18801/the-original-max-payne-coming-this-fall-to-mobile-devices.html
Woah, I didn't know Max Payne was coming to iphone. Pretty cool. How about the dream sequences. My least favourite parts of the game D:
Oh, we are? XD And I forgot to mention the worst part being the crying baby sound looping over and over D:
Not fake, and almost certainly not dead. I believe it's supposed to come out around the same time as Max Payne 3, which is scheduled for May 15th in North America.
I didn't know that Max Payne will be coming on iPhone. I really liked the original game hope this game is not dead and we will hear more about it very soon. Looking forward to this
