@nattylux While I appreciate how your game will be doing something new in a dual stick shooter via the environmental puzzle elements, please don't get too crazy with these aspects. Just a little puzzley elements could make for richer play but too much and the game will lose a lot of it's replayability (who wants to have to trudge through the puzzle again once they've already solved it?). Then again, if you are planning two modes, Story and Survival, this can all be remedied pretty easily. The Story Mode will be where many of the game's more clever puzzles could be thrown in as it is where the player really wants to face some clever challenges but then with endless continues and maybe not so much a score but best time through all levels combined, whereas the puzzle elements could be kept to a minimal in the Survival Mode which is all about making the best score and with a lot of randomized elements to increase its replayability.
is it going to be more arcade'ish or more laced with RPG elements? RPG a la character development, equipment management, shops, ect... arcade'ish is just pick up dropped guns, health, power ups, ect i wonder which would work best for Max Adventure? assuming its an exploration type game im willing to bet its RPGish or loosely loot based/equipment management... otherwise what incentive would the gamer have to explore? im just curious
We're still cranking away. Not really sure how long we have left yet. We want this game to be awesome, so we'll just keep working on it until it's an awesome game. In the meantime, we've added iPhone 4 support, and it looks amazing on the retina display. We've also been working a lot on the upgrade system and level progression, making sure it's balanced properly. Yup, we already have the two separate modes. Survival is the endless survival shooter that you can play over and over again, while story mode is where we're throwing in the puzzle elements. Thanks! A little of both. Survival mode is arcade-ish, and story mode is more RPG-like. Workin' workin' workin'
Someone needs to give nattylux an award for one of the most active developers on the platform. Seriously, great job getting so many questions answered and keeping everyone updated with the games progress. I'm really excited for this game, can't wait! Keep us posted on beta testers! I want in
No news yet. I'll definitely post here when/if we need testers. Love that you guys are so excited Haha thanks. I'm definitely not the most active though. I try, but I do have my lazy days LittleWhiteBear comes to mind...

Me five! Ahaha well it's somewhat small, but there's some tough competition out there! But this game already looks amazing, self published right?
