Hey guys! I'm finally back from WWDC and can catch up on the thread. Thanks for all the nice comments on the video. We're really excited about the game! Hopefully we can make the end of July deadline now that we announced it to the world Yes, we'll be doing beta testing. We already have a team of really great beta testers, but if we need more, I'll announce it in this thread. Thanks! Yeah, we worked a lot on the 3d engine. It works really well. Hopefully not much longer! Thanks! Just take deeeeeep breaths Thank you! Definitely lots of variety. Probably not in the first release. We haven't totally decided what to do, but as far as leaderboards go, we'll probably release with our own leaderboards and then migrate to GameCenter in a bit. Or we may go nuts and just release with GameCenter right away.
yeaah. definite gonna buy this one. I like the 3D graphics and all. its very hard i think to do that, i tried it but it didnt worked. heh.
Hey guys, wanted to give you a quick update on our progress. We've added a whole bunch of cool weapons and effects, and are currently working on the upgrade system. We have lots of ideas on what kind of upgrades we want to include, but we'd love to hear from you on what you want. So you tell us: what kind of upgrades do you wan? It can be as crazy or practical as you want. Of course everyone wants to upgrade their health or weapon strength. But maybe you've always wanted to turn into a frog and eat enemies with your tongue, Yoshi style. We want to hear from you. If something is cool and feasible and actually works with the gameplay, we just might implement it! Thanks! Can't wait for Ivan
Thanks for the update! Sounds like it's coming along well, and I really cannot wait for the game to be released! Take you time, and release something that kills every other dual-stick shooter.
I'd love to see some sort of "ambush" suit, where you can dress up as an alien, then they don't shoot at you. When you shoot at them, they become more and more suspicious of you, but also shoot all the aliens to find the human hiding.
I am not sure about turning into a frog... maybe you would then have to name it Max's Crazy Adventure... Some power up suggestions: The only level I saw you demo'ing was in a neighborhood - seems like a kid needs some environmental help against aliens - so perhaps a powerup that when the fire hydrant is shot - the water sprays for an area effect, and kills, or damages the aliens... A grenade or brief spray weapon that turns those aliens that are "hit" into "allies" who shoot their own kind for a brief time, then die An rpg type weapon that when it hits either a human vehicle, or alien vehicle explodes, thereby creating an area effect of damage A grenade type of weapon that "infects" aliens to take off damage - additionally as they run into other aliens - these aliens would also become infected. A drop item of some crazy kid toy - maybe a laugh box, or chattering teeth - something outlandish - that totally confuses the aliens that come near it, so they forget they are supposed to be attacking, and just stand around to become easy targets. A skateboard, or rollerskate powerup that lets Max move very quickly. Umm.... that is all for now. The demo video looks like it will be a really fun game.
