    I never got to beta test this (never received the adhoc build or anything) even though I was supposed to be on the beta team :[

    Hey Aldex, we have you on the list, don't worry. We split beta testing up into 2 rounds. You're in the 2nd round, which hasn't started yet.

    Thanks for all the anniversary wishes, guys. Y'all are sweet.

    We're pretty lucky to be able to work together on games full time. When people find out that we work together (at home, full time, 24/7), most of them look terrified and say they could never work with their spouse. Haven't killed each other yet! :)

    Quick update...

    We've been working around the clock the past few days to submit Max Adventure to the Independent Games Festival (IGF) I'm happy to report we successfully submitted last night!!! This is our first game ever that we've submitted to a competition like this. We are extremely proud of how it's turning out.

    A side benefit of submitting to the contest is that we made HUGE progress on finishing up the game:

    - Fixed all the bugs found during the first round of beta testing
    - Made some huge improvements to game play based on everyone's feedback
    - Polished a lot of little details.

    Of all the changes, I'm most excited about the changes we made to the power-up system! Before we had power-ups activate automatically when you picked them up. Now they go into a holding slot until you want to activate them. A bit like how Mario Kart does power-ups.

    The new system blends really well with the style of game play we're going for and ads a lot of strategy. Found a super awesome weapon? Maybe you want to hold on to it until you get to another part of the level. Find another powerup... Hmmm, which do I want to keep, the one I have or the new one. Can only hold on to one at a time!

    The new powerup system will also carry over to the store. You'll be able configure Max with permanent powerups. You'll be able to mix and match a few powerups at a time to customize Max's abilities however you see fit. That's the final piece I have left to code before we start the second round of beta testing.

    We're getting so close!!!
