Hi Steelfires. Sorry, but I don't know if I have understood what you mean... If you mean substances, yes - MoA is a puzzle game based on the manipulation of colorful streams of solid, liquid and gaseous elements. We have implemented a realistic physics engine (starting from Box2D), so particles interact each others and have different behaviors according to their material state. You have a lot of tools (alembics or stills - you are an alchemist -, like crucibles, pipes, coils, blenders, steam engines, condensers, etc.) to transform one element in another one (so, you can blend, fuse, sublimate, condense or break up elements). Moreover, you can create big solid block (i.e. to press buttons o plug holes) or fill hot air balloon with gaseous elements. Finally, each stream of substances is also characterized by a color - you have a lot of tool to manage and change colors.
Thanks for all the answers. It looks like it should be fun for a wide range of play styles, with plenty of challenges. Really well thought out. I'll be looking out for this one!
Master of Alchemy - A new video (Gameplay) Hi TouchArcade Community. We have just posted a new video on our youtube channel. It is a video that explains a little bit about Master of Alchemy Gameplay. As usual - please, post some comments and ask us whatever you want! We need your feedback Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
I'm really looking forward to playing this game ! Any idea when it will be released in the App store ? I seem to remember something said about it possibly being released at the end of June. Is this still the plan ? This looks really cool !!!
We hope by the end of this week/the beginning of the next week... but it doesn't depend exclusively on us! Chillingo is still testing the game...but - by now - no problems. Than, it will depend on Apple. We are a new company and MoA is our first game...we and Chillingo think it is important that the game will be perfect! Master of Alchemy is really designed to maximize the capabilities of the iPad (it has been very hard to achieve this level of graphic details with a physics realistic stream of three different material states, creating particles that interact each others), so testing it is really important! As soon as we know something more, we'll let you know
All very good points, and I agree - too often games are released with the initial promises of fixes in the very soon update - this does not make the consumer very confident when the game is released, but does not work... So, take the time, make it right, and hopefully you will have great success!
Looks awesome! I've been wishing there was a contraption style game for some time. You've got your own slant on that theme, and it looks very very cool.
Some Delay + some "consolation" artworks Hi to Everybody.... Which do you want first, the good news or the bad news? Ok, bad news : there is a small delay....We haven't sent Master of Alchemy to App Store yet. This is not because bugs, but we have decided to implement some little improvements.. Good News : Francesco (our illustrator and MoA's concept artist) has just posted on our blog some beautiful Master of Alchemy's sketches and artworks. Moreover, he has spoken a little about the MoA' creation process. Stay in Touch!
The good, the bad, and nothing is ugly ! Good news... And bad news... Any idea on a target release date yet ? Can we expect this sometime in July ? This game looks better and better - I can't wait to give it a spin. You people are doing really good work over there !
MANY THANKS!! Yes, for sure! We hope to release Master of Alchemy this week. As I said, we have decided to implement only some little improvements...to make MoA's playability perfect! (i.e. Now player will unlock three levels at a time). Today Chillingo is testing the implementation of Crystal and, if every will be ok, MoA will be ready to be sent to the App Store. Meanwhile, we are working hard to create a version for iPhone4, to have Retina Display Support.
Woo Hoo !!! Now that is wonderful news! I've been checking this thread and the App store almost every day, in anticipation of the game's release. I've been watching for a few upcoming games, and this one is at the top of my list. To echo goiMot, I'm hoping to be playing this next week-end...
A Full Demo Level Solution Video Hi TouchArcade Community. Good News : Master of Alchemy has passed all Chillingo quality tests. Now Crystal's QA is testing if all the achievements are possibles and if scores are balanced ... then MoA will be ready to be sent to Apple App Store. This week or the next week? ...we don't know yet... but we'll keep you informed! Meanwhile, here a new video: It’s a full solution of a demo level (so, you can see all the video: it is a level that you won’t find when you’ll play to MoA ). We have uploaded this video, so you will able to evaluate a little more Master of Alchemy. Consider that it is a level with only one target, without physics obstacles, disappearing walls, buttons, etc. – Anyway, you’ll be able to appreciate the different behaviors of the diverse material states (because of the physics engine), the use of transformation tools in order to reach the required target, the management of colors, the use of the "pause mode". Wow ! This looks awesome. Those lanterns lighting up the board are a really nice touch. The gameplay looks like it's going to be a lot of fun to figure out. Can't wait to get my alchemy degree !
Master of Alchemy has just been sent to the Apple App Store Ladies and Gentlemen, we are very very very enthusiastic to announce that Master of Alchemy has been sent to the Apple App Store 10 minutes ago!!!!! Now, we are awaiting for the Apple's approval....we'll keep you informed! Bad News...I hoped for a big party in office...but we have decided to wait to the definitive approval.... Now, I'm hoping that when MoA will be approved by Apple, we won't decide to wait for a million of copies sold!!
oh man, can't wait to get this on my iPad! looks freakin awesooooome moooove your asses Apple and approve this asap!
