yeahh ive decided to go with 3. things like the new camera angle, new difficulty level, custom parks made me pick it. Plus since its the more recent one, im guessing it has more support game-wise and custom content-wise.

Oh and I have THAW for the ps2 and i LOVED it. dont know why the TH games went so downhill after that but that was by far the best i had ever played at the time.

And a game Id like to recommend: toy story 3. only on 360 or ps3, wii version has much less content. If someone is even remotely interested ill say why i recommend, but not gonna write a full review for nothing.

Toy Story 3 kinda intrigued me a bit... Open world gameplay in a Toy Story world sounds kind of cool. Then again, I can't afford any 360/Wii games right now, which is why I'm curious which game to get. My main choices:

    Devil Kings
    Time Crisis II
    Ninja Assault
    Vampire Night

TH went downhill before THAW... that was part of the crapbucket.

Devil Kings was a dumbed-down butchered localisation of Sengoku Basara. For some reason, they thought it would be a good idea to take out all of the historical Sengoku (Warring States) references (the whole basis of the series in the first place) and replace them with random generic western fantasy references, and they took out some playable characters, making them non-playable among other gameplay changes. I really wouldn't recommend it.

    Quote from Wikipedia:
However, I know you said you can't afford Wii games, but Sengoku Basara 3 is coming out soon, and it looks impressive and stylish (well, like most Capcom games) so I'd save up for that instead.

Well... now I've changed my mind about Devil Kings... It looked pretty good in gameplay videos, but now that you put it that way I might just stick to Dynasty Warriors. Is there any way to play Sengoku Basara in America?

well for me, that was my favorite. Then again I wasnt around for the THPS1 glory days but i did have the series starting with 3 until project 8. And personally i think the best games were underground 1 and 2 and AW.

Well for me at least, toy story 3 is even more fun to play if you have a local co-op partner like a sibling. But I would look around if i were you to see where you can find a good price for the game cuz i bet its not 50 bucks anymore. And maybe get one of your siblings to chip in (If you have any).

The best Tony Hawk games (for me) in order:

    1.) American Wasteland
    2.) Underground
    3.) Pro Skater 2
    4.) Pro Skater 4
    5.) Underground 2

Up until Project 8, every Tony Hawk game was great. And although I did enjoy Project 8 (somehow), it was a huge step backwards.

And the reason that Project 8 on was terrible was the fact that they tried to keep the old Ton Hawk formula while trying to be more realistic, removing a lot of what made the game fun. All of those extra vehicles from Underground to American Wasteland like the cars, extra characters and BMX were removed, the skater creation was dumbed down by a lot, every other form of creation was removed, there was no story, the special meter was removed in Proving Ground, Proving Ground was a technical mess (then again, THAW was pretty glitchy too), the running system was overall dumbed down, removing a lot of the parkour stuff that made exploration in American Wasteland so much fun, stuff like freak outs and tagging was removed, and the last two games were just overall extremely dull. I think that about sums it up.

Yeah... I might get at most $10, and I've been wanting most of those games for a while. Also, most of them are under $5, making it easier for me to get, and I want the new TDWP EP badly.

Tony Hawk has been spotted in Failsville. True story.

Not sure I'm going to pick up Mafia 2 afterall. I've got hardly any time and to be fair, I'm pretty certain Other M is going to be the better game (and out a week later). I'm going to go for that.

The TH franchise really went wrong when it turned into Bam Margera's Whacky Skateboard-a-thon, which was around THPS4. Somehow though, the THPS4 levels appealed to me and it became my favourite, but the actual objectives were ruined, it was like something from kids television. The tricks and combos went beyond realism and into something far less fun than skateboarding really is.

    So my list would go:

THPS4 - Most imaginitive levels, best combo lines in the series.
THPS2 - This is probably the closest TH ever got to achieving sim status, blew everyone's socks off.
THPS1 - Defined the formula, turned a million geeks into skaters (Holy Shit grind FTW).
THUG - After the fall, but a few entertaining level designs (Moscow) and the introduction of online gave me a few weeks of enjoyment.

Well, Sengoku Basara 3 is coming to the West (it's already out in Japan, I think) like, next month or something for the Wii/PS3, so I'd recommend that.

I can see what you mean with your list. I completely agree that 4 had incredible lines. I remember being able to start at the top of Alcatraz and grinding all the way to the bottom. Its too bad theres no current skateboarding games with that in it. Anyway, Im gonna go pick up skate 3.

Yeah Alcatraz was awesome. Believe it or not you could actually grind up the entire level as well, the whole thing was a circle and you could go up and down forever if you had the balance. Skate 3 is awesome though if you actually like skating and don't mind doing slightly less crazy stunts.

Yeah thats something ill be looking forword too in s3, just working to hit lines and finding new areas. More realistic, but i cant skate in real life, so its still really cool for me. And I wonder if my THPS4 disc still works....
