Yep, that's what I refered to with my upgrade. Helped remember some of the ones I had wanted to play but couldn't.
It's basically a shooter that is very faced paced and generally has a small map. Quake and unreal tournament are prime examples of these
Look at what FINALLY arrived! So I have a question to all: Do I need to play through IB 1 if I want to play IB 2?
A piece of paper? It is preferable to play the first because it is more difficult to go back after playing the second.
Lol, about time you got rid of that ancient 2nd gen. Getting my 4S early April xD. Excited I won't be needing to carry two devices everywhere I go soon.
Unless you are playing on an iPad, I wouldn't suggest Dangerous over Galaxy on Fire because the UI and HUD is way too crowded (tons of elements). Dangerous has a lot of depth and cool little details that make it unique and worth playing though (such as independent NPC ships that move around even when you are not there). Galaxy on Fire is one of my top three games for iOS. I absolutely love it and I poured a ton of hours into it and the DLC. I think the production values are higher (making it a more polished game) and the UI is clean and made with the iPod in mind. The biggest difference between the two (besides story of course) is the type of combat. Dangerous is intended to be played like Eve Online, where you select your target and micro manage your weapons and defense systems while the ship is on auto pilot. You can fly it as a dual stick shooter (the way Galaxy on Fire works) but it is not that intuitive or well designed - more like an after thought. So I suggest Galaxy on Fire first... but if you finish that game and are craving more of the same, definitely go for Dangerous too. In the end, both are great games. Good luck with the decision; I hoped this helps.
There are actually quite a few of them I'm interested in. Listed them in the "Game Releases" thread. Tons of platformers coming again. Not sure how many of them I'll actually end up getting. Edit: Even more added to the list now: Fireball and Chaos Rings II. Currently interested in 10 releases..
Yeah, you're right. I'm finding the older I get the harder it is to find a game that holds my interest. Kodp did it for awhile. Until it was becoming impossible for me to complete the quests.
I didn't find a better thread to ask this, sorry if there is. :# I haven't spent nearly as much time gaming on my Touch in the last few months before, when I did, mostly casual games/puzzles. Anyway, I saw a game fitting into these genres on a friend's iPhone recently, and I wonder what it was, because I forgot the name. It was sort of a level-based casual puzzler, where your goal was to make different colored blocks disappear within a limited amount of moves. Any ideas?
Even though this looks pretty good (I might even buy it), this wasn't it. The one I saw was in 2D. Also, maybe some gameplay helps me get through a little better. There was a fixed amount of blocks on each level, you made them disappear by mathing 3, by either moving one or gravity. Thanks for you help, though. :>
