I already have that and didn't even realize you could use it to catalog your stuff. Thanks for the knowledge and the reply! Dave
No problem! But yeah, you can use the watchlist for stuff you haven't seen and create other personal lists.
Tap forms is what I use for my dvd collection. You can organize any way you want and it is useful for other things.
I feel like we need a thread to discuss chillingos releases each week, and whether they're worth getting or not.. This week it's a free game and another that seems to be getting no attention. But usually they have two paid game releases a week. I'd say I'm about 75% happy with everything ive gotten from chill... But now it's just getting too hard. Right now I still don't know whether to get tiny acorns... Last week it was I guess the only good chill realease, but still I think we should have a separate thread where we just talk about all the games for reviews and such... Games like stretched etc... Aren't getting enough attention just due the the fact that there's so many other games. Does anyone agree? Another suggestion would be just massive polls or some way to rate all the games. First adding all the previous games, while continue to update it each week.
You should have absolutely no hesitation picking up Little Acorns. Best game in a long while, especially for platformer fans...
I have to disagree with this. Jazz: Trump's Journey BlockHopper SZC: Beyond Dead is actually quite good and deep if you get past the GameSalad flaws. Star Marine is the best Contra clone on iOS On the Hop LoE 2 despite its many flaws Technically Terra Noctis, Lumi and Crazy Hedgy weren't released that long ago. IMO, Little Acorns is comparable to On the Hop LoE2. I do recommend it, but I had to say something about the 'best game' statement, especially if you're looking for deeper experiences. IDK how any person that loves platformers, especially long, deep ones, can play Jazz or Terra Noctis and say their not one of the best. BlockHopper just se a new standard for puzzle platformers and Star Marine is an excellent take on old skool run'n'gun platformers. If I don't mention how awesome Crazy Hedy is - it is, Squarezero will probably kill me. Cheezia was just released and is pretty great on my iPod. It seems as if iPad and iPod 4 32GB users are having some issues though. -------------------------------------------------------------- @DarthRonfar About Chillingo, yeah, their stuff has been lack luster lately, IMO.
Well I guess that's why it's my opinion but I definitely stick by it... Jazz and Terra Noctis are definitely good but different kind of platformer than LA. Blockhopper is fun as well. LoE2 is just a clone of its own year-old self, still a good game though just no need to buy it if you have LoE1 since that one is better IMO. Lumi and Crazy Hedgy are great as well. SCZ, wow that doesn't even come remotely close to a fun experience I'm not arguing that those aren't some great, must have games (aside from SCZ) but I am still definitely having the most fun with Little Acorns and spending the most time with it. I cannot find any issues at all with the whole package when I can usually find one or two in most other games. To each his own
Yeah, but LA is just another mini platformer. Most of those are full experiences IMHO. Do they come with a hiccup here or there...sure, but the overall experience is more satisfying. But yes, it's subjective. I just got bored of LA pretty quickly like PvS. And the reason I mentioned all of the fuller platformers is because you just said platformer. You didn't really specify a sub genre. I'd actually pick Run Roo Run as my favorite bite sized platformer.
The only game I'd actually recommend this week is ZiGGANUT. Clear Point, Lume, and Munch Time are all pretty good, but none of them are too special. I'd also grab M.U.S.E. on sale for $0.99. That's about it. Extremely slow week in comparison to last week.
So can I make a new thread? I'm gonna list all of their realeses... Then I guess give my own short reviews and ask others to vote, then cover all games to follow... Normally it wouldn't make sense but since chill is realizing 2 games a week I think it would come in handy. (I could also post links to threads, and I guess recommend stuff and have other people be able do thr same..
I would love a thread for just Chillingo releases. There are a whole bunch of what I consider lost gems that went completely unnoticed and should get some attention. Darth: The force is with you to create this thread...
Hmm...now I'm really thinking about it. I wonder if this will help other games get lost more easily. Usually Chillingo threads get more views than say something like Lumi or Dave vs. Cave. I think they get featured more often too. Hmm...
Which ones should I get? Hyper Snake, Neoteria(I know it's by orangepixel, but I don't generally like shooters like that), Lume, Munch Time, Ragdoll Blaster 3(I've heard it's not as good as 2nd besides graphics) and Little Acorns Which ones? 3 should be fine, maybe 4, possibly 5. depends on impressions.
Well, Lume is a "must have" if you like games with exploration, puzzles, gorgeous art style, captivating music, and realistic sound effects. If you play the game with headphones it's definitely one hell of an experience. It has the "soul" and visceral feeling that games like Hector lack. Did you like Lumi? If so you'll probably like this, especially from the art point-of-view. I like Ragdoll Blaster 3 a lot. It is different but it works. The extra challenge definitely makes the game more fun IMO. What were the reasons you heard for it being worse than the 2nd one? After the last couple of months of amazing platformers (Lumi, Jazz, Crazy Hedgy, Terra Noctis, BlockHopper), I think Little Acorns is just meh. I got really bored after I got to World 2. I passed on Munch Time for the same reasons. Plus, the impressions didn't really sell it. I have yet to get Hyper Snake, but I hear it's excellent. Edit Shat, I forgot about Neoteria. I'm going to have to pick that up ASAP. It has received positive impressions so far.
Got RB3 and Munch Time and will probably get hyper snake. Passed on neoteria cause not a fan of genre. When it goes down to .99 I'll ignore the dislike of genre and remember my op love
