It doesn't involve any fighting but you'd really enjoy all the Kairosoft games.

If you've never played it BIG yay. Well worth the $8.99
If you have...? Meh. Skip it. Play Chrono Trigger or something else, Final Fantasy Tactics is amazing.

Gave Game Dev Lite a try (I'd heard good things about it) and maybe if it didn't look like there was wax paper on my screen I'd have given it more than 5min. But my God... really? That's not even standard def, it looks awful. I don't mean the pixels, it's just all... fuzzy! That's a pass.

The game is actually $15.99, but yeah, it's probably the best JRPG there is on the AppStore.

For RPGs with long lifespans you won't do any better (on any platform) than The Quest (and it's insane multitude of expansions).

If you want a one off traditional JRPG Fall of Angels is good and lengthy but I'm not sure about replay value.

Seconded. Maybe not what he's asking for though, but it's still something everyone needs. My wi-fi's been down for like almost a week now and since I can't play Charadium II or MC3 online, I've been playing A LOT of Dungeon Raid.

Huh, that's not exactly what I'm looking for (I have a thread in this very forum about my dream game, give it a read).

But I've heard good things about this game. Dungeon Raid that is.

The Lost City? If you like beautiful point-and click adventures, that is. Also, The Secret of Grisly Manor by the same author is still free and everybody should grab it! It is supposed to be short, but for an entertaining freebie that makes no difference.

Is Fieldrunners still worth picking up despite being so old? Is it updated for retina? Lots of maps and still stands out among current TDs?

Haha yeah, it has that effect! Wanna go to the bathroom? Play Dungeon Raid wile doing your business. Wanna play a little before going to bed? You'll play for a lot longer than planned. Taking a bussride? You might miss your stop. Damn, it's so simple and weird and yet I can't put it down :D

Been hooked on a few ones lately, most of you probably already know the first 2 but for what it's worth :
Squids : great adventure game with ... squids. Took me some time to get into but now I can't stop playing it.
Triple Town : city-builder meets match3 - caution : extremely addictive. To be accurate I play it on facebook and they just released an iphone app.
zPulse : found that one because I know the developer. Not flawless and a bit difficult, but I do love my rhythm games :D
