I actually just got ice rage for my iPhone today and I really like the new tournament mode for single player
I'm more into the Raiden style shmups as opposed to bullet hell particles taking up the whole screen. Space Tripper any good?
I got Anthill a while ago and its fun. Its a sort of like in RTS where you set units to patrol a path. There's enough strategy to Anthill. The campaign is decently long, and the survival mode is a nice bonus. Not too long ago, a new set of campaign was added (I haven't tried it yet though). Ant Raid has a lite version for you to try. I really wanted to like this game (only tried the lite version), but I had some trouble. There's a bit too much scrolling to me, combined with some things are too small for *my eyes* making the game a bit hard to play. Granted, the original version was on the ipad so I can see it hard to shrink some things down. But the most trouble I had is in selecting units vs scrolling. I keep accidentally setting the select unit circle when I try to just want to scroll the map and vice versa. I probably just need more practice. It does look like a good game though, with a lot of content. Just wondering..what makes Paper Monsters less fun than Terra Noctis? The more I play Terra Noctis, the more its growing on me. Its quickly catching up to Frogatta as my personal favorite platformer on the iOS. Between DDPR and ESP2, its kinda preference on the theme you want if your not looking into the deep scoring system differences. Pick the style you want. If your want deep scoring though, gotta ask some of the resident bullet hell people though. To me, the closest to Raiden that I've played is Lightening Fighter. There's a lite version to try. Space Tripper is good..but its hard. Its sort of a mix of Tilt to Live (if you use tilt controls) and a shmup. I know its not even a related genre, but the difficulty of Contra with all the deaths due to running into enemies, all the 1 hit kills and starting the level all over (unless you play Space Tripper's easy difficulty or use the cheat code), and dying due to bullets you don't see. When everything clicks though, Space Tripper is soooo satisfying. Oh yeah, did I mention the game is hard? lol.. If you like difficult games and dying a ton of times, definitely get this game. If not..I say avoid (even though I feel bad for saying this).
Sorry for the late reply! Yeah, there's a lite version. I forgot about that. It's pretty much a frantic RTS/TD. Pretty much, you're sending out your troops to attack the incoming enemies before they can destry your base. I actually find Ant Raid to be more of a strategic challenge than Anthill, especially when trying to get all 3 stars and meeting challenge conditions. I'll admit I didn't get seriously far in Anthill because it wasn't as fun as I'd like for the type of game it is. As far as the iPhone size and Ant Raid, I haven't had any problems. Sure, I've done some scrolling, but it's minor an no where near the amount of scrolling for other games. You can zoom out as well. Plus, the ants will alert you of an approaching enemy. I'd say try out both lite versions to get a good feel. I'm pretty sure you've seen the Blot thread, and everyone in it has nothing but positive things to say. There's not on bad comment about it anywhere on TA--its thread, this thread, the runner thread, arcade thread. It's as close to iOS perfection you'll fine.

Suggestions: Terra Noctis-probly the best 2D long platformer on the app store. Tongue Tied-really nice little game. You control two dogs that are "tongue tied" and swing them around through a lot of levels. Death Rally- (i think it's 99c still) best combat racer available Greed Corp-little more complex than the average game, but a really good TBS style game NOVA 2-one of the best shooters on the app store. Really fun multiplayer Others: -If you have 2.99, get Lego Harry Potter. One of the best games on the app store -FREE-Eden World Builder, Shake Spears -If you have $5 and want an amazing 3D platformer-get Crazy Hedgy -Also look into Muffin Knight/Super Crate Box
If I were you I get all of them! they all great games... I got most of them some I have them when they were free for a day.
Blot - endless runner Blade Dash - action endless runner Ant Raid - RTS/TD (has a lite version) Zombie Bunnies - interesting runner shoot 'em up Sploosh - on of the nicest tilt based games IMO Blueprint 3D - addictive, casual blueprint game...lol Stretched - one, if not, the best puzzlers on the AppStore Critter Chaos - again, "one, if not, the best puzzlers on the AppStore" katana Jack - an awesome old school arcade game Russian Dancing Men - fun, refreshing take o the rhythm genre Paper Monsters - if you want a Mario styled platformer And many more...
If I read the OP correctly those are the ones he has. He's looking for another recommendation. My question would be, of the ones you listed which is you favorite? That would help narrow down the recommendations to what you like. and of course you could always look here: Mass "What Should I Get?" Thread 2012
Death Rally is free right now And the following games are 99 cent each: Silent Ops BackStab Fast Five the Movie: Official Game Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six®: Shadow Vanguard N.O.V.A. 2 - Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance Spider-Man: Total Mayhem Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction James Cameron's Avatar Assassin's Creed - Altaïr's Chronicles
Surprisingly really well! I love it! I'm able to get to round 30+ solo. Dead ops arcade is probably my favorite though!
First of all, pirating games is severely looked down upon on this site even for "testing", and could get you a ban. If you want a good open world, then GTA 3 is the best right now. If you liked the NOVA's and want great multiplayer the Modern Combat series is definitely worth checking out. Real Racing 2 is a must buy though it does go on sale a lot nowadays. Soosiz is the best adventure platformer imo by far, followed by Lumi. SFIV and King of Figthers are both excellent fighters (if you want the best overall King of Fighters, if you are more familiar with Street Fighter it might be better though). Epoch is an excellent cover shooter that controls similar of Infinity blade (but plays very different). Need for speed hot pursuit is still my favorite arcade racer. Lastly and most importantly, World of Goo is my highest recommended game and simple an incredible experience to play.
PAPER MONSTERS! seriously! It's a no brainer! 99c for that much quality and content is insane. My favourite platformer ever, and probably my favourite game on iOS and I have 300+ on my iPad alone..
