I tried the free version of H&C and had trouble with the controls, but I'll give it another shot.. heard so many good things, gotta try!
Just got my S4 (sorry iPhone, you won't really be missed), what are some of the best games on iPhone that have been ported over. I've looked at the Android section, and it's fairly barren.
You get an android first and THEN come up here to ask what games android offers for gamers?? Next time try doing it in the opposite order... U will be more fortunate. But seriously go have a read here: http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2012-10/31/android-games/viewall http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2013/02/android-vs-iphone-games/ Back in the old days i had an htc, and i switched to iphone 4 so fast my visa card spinned on by itself for months. Main reason: gaming. It was like living on the desolate side of the river and watching the green pastures on the ios side filled with great games games games games and then some more upcoming great games.
Your last paragraph kinda answers your question. His priority obviously wasn't games games games games and then some more upcoming great games. ...probably wasn't apps at all, judging by the state of them on Android.
You really need to calm down. I've had the iPhone since the 3GS. I'm just now switching over. I know there are Android users here who use their iPods as their primary gaming device, and I figured that some of them would know what apps on the Appstore have been brought over without losing too much.
For one, your favorite game Dungeon Raid is there! Most of the recent major (EA, Gameloft, Rovio, etc.) games come to Android at the same time as iOS, but only the really commerically successful smaller games get ported. There are still quite a few great games, like Knights of Pen and Paper (which actually started on Android IIRC), 10000000, Punch Quest, EDGE Extended, and Super Stickman Golf 2. I don't like the Gameloft and EA games that just try to clone console games since it just provides a scaled down experience, so games like these are the ones that I really focus on and enjoy playing. Having said that, it's painfully obvious that there are far more games like that on iOS (and the ones on both platforms run better and use up less battery on iOS), so even though I like my Nexus 7 a lot (especially the emulators ), I'm never going to choose an Android device over an iOS one if I have to choose between the two. That's only one of the reasons why I feel that way, but if you play games on your phone a lot, it's a really big one. Also, I haven't tried it yet, but Pixel Dungeon seems to be very popular in Android gaming communities, so you should try it out if you like roguelikes.
So... Infinity Blade 2 or Ravensword Shadowlands? They're both $6.99. Or I could get both, or I could not, or I could wait for IB: Dungeons & Ravensword/Aralon 2..
Buy both. They are worth it. Or wait until IB 2 drops to 2.99 then buy it. But you should get both. They are amazing.
Thanks man! I actually left the gaming scene for awhile with my 4S, and I knew going in with Android that the app market is not as good as it is on iOS. But I figured there had to be at least some good games.
IB has been $2.99 a lot so wait for the inevitable price drop. Shadowlands didn't do it for me. It's a really well made open world RPG, but I just didn't find myself having much fun playing it. Perhaps that's because I've played through skyrim, and shadowlands is a really dumbed down version of that game in a lot of ways. That being said, a lot of people on here love it, so you may enjoy it.
Anyone suggesting me which were the best final fantasy games? Square Enix released many on Ios but the price of each is not cheap(for sure). So i need to decide carefully.
I don't have any personal experience to help, but check out this thread here, it may have info that'd help you decide. I also have an RPG question (I feel like there are a lot in this thread): I like roguelikes / dungeon crawlers, but I have a number of them and don't need another. Is Sword of Fargoal Legends worth adding to my collection? Same question but for a different game - I like puzzle RPGs, but again, I don't lack them and need one immediately. I'm really loving Dungeon Plunder, is King Cashing 2 a good addition, or more of the same?
Considering you can get Minigore 2 for free from IGN this month (and it's the newest and probably best of those), that might be your best bet. http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/05/03/ign-free-game-of-the-month-minigore-2 Also, a lot of the games in your signature are also my favorites, so if we share taste in games, you should definitely check out the game Slayin.
Thanks. I have played bit of the first Minigore and didn't care for it at all. Is Minigore 2 anything like that or an improvement? By the way I've played Slayin. Liked it a lot.
I actually liked Minigore 1, but for some reason the second one feels too bloated and easy for me. Not in terms of performance; it runs really well. It's just that it seems like there's too much going on at the beginning that's unnecessary. With autoaim enabled by default and the ability to just run around in circles, the game wasn't so much fun as an exercise. I didn't like Age of Zombies either though, so I might just not like dual stick shooters (Bastion's combat was great though, so I don't know). No harm in trying it for free.
Sadly it isn't free in my country. Thanks a lot. I only played Minigore for few minutes.. i didn't understand it. is it an endless game? how do I go to another map or level.. those same monsters kept coming.. so I gave up.
