Only if you're into casual games with almost no challenge. Or cuteness.

While I disagree with most of your reviews/descriptions (Legendary Wars 3/10? I'm fairly certain 1 guy made that iir), each to their own though.

Here, go check out Dungeon Raid. It's the only game you'll really ever need.

Hi guys, just need some advice on two games I'm thinking of buying. I'm after a couple of epic RPG's, and have been eyeing Lunar Silver Star Story and Avernum:Escape From the Pit. Both worth getting? Gonna cost me £13 though, so want to be sure!

Lunar is competently ported. It has a few issues. Path finding was not the best on one of the control options. You can play with a d-pad to alleviate that though. Aside from that I think updates improved the rest of the problems people had with it.
Lunar is a classic RPG standing right beside the best of the genre (squaresoft games). If you like RPG's and haven't played through Lunar, you should.

Looking for a great Western RPG. Something like Ravensword, Aralon, or Mission Europa.

There aren't a lot of Westerm RPGs on iOS; consider Earth & Legend or some older games like Crusade of Destiny, Xenome, and/or BattlEternal: Rise of the Half-Angel.

Edit: Forgot Horn; you might still be able to get a free promo code through ign... Check "Horn Free" thread under proce drops.

Have you tried Horn? I've heard great things about it, and though I've only gotten a few minutes into the game, they seem spot-on. Also, the devs for Ravensword & Aralon have another RPG in the works (though it's sci-fi, not the typical fantasy) that's due later in the year.

Bard's Tale is another one that I've heard great things about but only just started (I'm way behind on that one, at least Horn is pretty new. :p)

Definitely pick up City Sandbox if you are into simulation games.

    Bard's Tale.
It's a top down view as opposed to the behind the back.
One of the best games on the AppStore.

Any recommendations for games similar to Blue Toad Murder Files?

    Hi everyone-

I just finished playing the available chapters of Blue Toad Murder Files. What an amazing game. I loved how interactive it was, and that the characters actually spoke as opposed to just having scrolling text on the screen. The puzzles were engaging, and everything was just top notch.

I'd like to find games that are similar to this. Any recommendations?

    Thanks in advance.

I'm back for another suggestion, oh Sages of the Forum.

Gamebooks; I've never played one. How similar to D&D are they? I'll admit that the ol' D20 itch has been nagging at my sanity, so I'm curious if jumping into one of the popular (or obscure) gamebooks will scratch it.

You know what? Even if it's not D&D-ish, are there any gamebooks you recommend?

  14. Okay I'm looking for a good scifi rpg like gof or mass effect I've done everything in gof and gof 2 and I loved mass effect it has to be story driven and have good replay....

Hhmmm...nothing quite ticks all the boxes but Gemini Rue has a great sci-fi atmosphere and an even better story. Vendetta Online is a MMO in the same vein as GOF and is incredibly deep and immersive.

  16. I only have an iPhone... To bad already have Gemini rue how about some oldschool first person dungeon crawlers? I have all the quest games and quest lord and undercroft I want something like the quest at other ones out there?

They're similar in a very rudimentary way. You roll up a character, but there are usually only three stats. You can pick up items, but again not as many as in a regular RPG. Combat is dice based, but with 6-sided dice and at a simpler level than d&d - it's mainly doing attacks back and forth. The books/games are really more about the story and the choices you make than about RPG gameplay.

You're in luck though - looks like all the Gamebook Adventure ones are going on sale now for half off. I haven't played it on iOS yet, but House of Hell was always one of my favorite Fighting Fantasy gamebooks.

Consider SilverSword or Tumulus of Fen. SilverSword is a RPG with more depth and plot and Tumulus of Fen is more a first person roguelike. There's also Doom II RPG (which turns the first person shooter classic into a turn based dungeon crawler) or Wizardry Labryrinth of Lost Souls, which is a Playstation Network port I haven't played yet.
