iBlast Moki 2 is pretty great...nice physics puzzler with good sound and graphics and has user created content NBA jam is better than madden 12, madden 12 is pretty much 11 reskinned with the same problems (not to mention they updated rosters but didnt change rankings so for instance....the rams are better than the 49ers in game) Epoch is an interesting RPG/cover shooter/light shooter hybrid... Battleheart is a must have imo...can try a clone of it by triniti,i forget the name of it though, but its pretty much the same other than Battleheart is better and has a 'soul' to it if you will
So guys, I had a fun b-day today, but now that celebrations of New Years etc are over, I find myself drawn back to iOS gaming. Here's my question for you: What is your go-to game? Like, you have a few minutes, this is the game you will fire up. You have a bit longer, this is the game you fire up. You go to the bathroom with your iThing, you fire this game up. What is it? (doesn't have to be good, or casual, I'm just looking for games like this that you've ended up with. I have a couple like this, but I've had them for aaaaages.)
Well Echoseven first of all happy new year everybody some of the games id recommend are: -Train conductor 2 -Match Panic (by chaotic box) -Carnivores: Ice age (best hunting game on app store IMO and just went free today) -Hard Lines -Tiny Invaders Most of them are casual Also is sleepy jack any good kind of mixed reviews
I'm looking for the best bullet hell game for iOS. I've tried a couple, but none really kept me hooked. I only want one of this type of game installed, so which provides the most solid gameplay and longevity?
My toilet/waiting-in-line games: Canabalt Get To Da Choppa Solipskier Hanging with Friends Zombie Gunship Wind-Up Knight
Which have you tried? Are you looking for survival, bullet patterns or high scoring mechanics? Any of the Cave ones, Danmaku Unlimited, Phoenix, Fantasy Night are a few good ones. For non bullet hell ( but still intense), my favorite is Super Crossfire.
I've tried some I don't remember the names of, but I've also played Phoenix, which I enjoyed for a while, but then it went free and ads were added, and over time I just stopped playing altogether. I'm looking for a game where I don't necessarily have to learn bullet patterns, but can get a score and work on improving it. Something I liked about Phoenix was the scaling difficulty, so even two runs of the same thing can be very different. What I dislike about the Cave shooters is that a large part of the screen is taken up by the panel at the bottom. I don't really see why it needs to be there.
Phoenix has never been free, unless you're talking about Phoenix HD, and that doesn't have adds. You're thinking of ISUD....
You're right, I meant Phoenix HD, but I got them mixed up since I switched from regular Phoenix to HD. I remember there being ads in it though, but maybe my mind is playing tricks on me; guess I'll reinstall the game and maybe I'll figure out why I lost interest
Yeah, Phoenix HD is free and has no ads. The best non Cave bullet hell I like is Danmaku Unlimited. Try the lite version. It has a simple scoring system (only a grazing mulitplier..ie: be as close to the bullets that passes you increases the scoring multiplier). And..Danmaku Unlimited is on sale for 0.99 right now. =D Well, for the Cave games, the "dead space" your speaking of is actually a good place to place your finger without covering up the playing screen where the bullets and your ship is. One of the harder things for me is moving ships near the edge of the screen to dodge bullets, so the dead space is nice to have. Some find it easier to play with the smallest screen, but the largest dead space. Personally, I like large screen, but it makes it a little harder to play.
I played the lite version of Danmaku... Bought. The game is absolutely stunning. Thanks for the recommendation.
Which of the current sale games (and a couple non-sale ones) are most worth getting? Looking at all these games: which are the best? Starfront: Collision, FIFA 12, Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor, Trainyard, They Need To Be Fed , Zombieville 2, Monster Hunter: Dynamic Hunting, Real Steel, Tank Riders, Fight Night Championship, Crazy Hedgy (I plan on getting this one, but I have to wait for the next update to play it. Get it now with the launch sale?), Ice Rage, and Don't Run With A Plasma Sword (DRWAPS). Also should I get any of the Sonic games on sale? Any help is REALLY appreciated. Also any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated as well. All I want is really fun games with a decent amount of content!
Anomaly, Battleheart, LHP 1-4, Epoch, and iBM 2 are all great games. NBA Jam is much better than Madden 12. I'd say get Battleheart first.
I've been doing a lot of PC gaming lately, so I got used to some big games. Tomorrow I go on vacation and I only take my phone, so maybe I can load some "big" game to carry with me. I need something with a cool story that will get me hooked, mostly to play at night while everyone is sleeping. Maby some pick up and play games too, if I ever get bored. Checking my wishlist I found these, what do you recommend? "Big" games: The Bard's Tale Chrono Trigger Rayman 2 Pick up and go: Sonic CD Perfect Cell The Incident Never played either Bard's Tale or Chrono Trigger on other platforms. I'm a fan of adventure games (got most of them already) and not so much of RPGs but I heard good things about those. I'm open tu suggestions too, thanks for the advice and happy new year!
Bard's Tale is definitely a great one, and how do you feel about ShadowGun? Both certainly pretty big games. As for smaller ones - if you're a perfectionist and love hard platformers take a look at Wind up Knight. If you're not averse to tilt controls in a platformer, Crazy Hedgy feels a lot like Rayman in spirit and has very high production valules.
I'd skip this.. For me, I found the controls pretty finicky, making it hard to pull off attacks vs wanting to move. Trainyard has a lite version..so try it out first. The lite version is meaty and supposed to have levels not in the main game.
I already have Shadowgun, wich is impressive but I'm finding it a bit hard. I suck at cover mechanics hehe. As for Wind-up Knight, I got that too and love it. Would you get Bard's Tale over Chrono Trigger? Crazy Hedgy looks interesting too, thanks!
