Retro games Looking for games that have catchy 8/16 bit retro music (a bit like the recent Dizzy release, which I think is excellent). Can anyone help? Preferably iPad or universal. Thanks!
Check out League of Evil or Pix'n Love Rush (LoE is universal, Pix'n Love Rush has a universal edition for 1.99, a buck more than the normal, but I think it also has an extra mode.). Both of 'em are platformers, and really fun ones at that. Any more suggestions for fun games? Just suggest five* or so games that are a blast to play, and I'll be sure to look at 'em. *five is just so there's no matter what one i don't own
Dang...hmm, well I just tried out Sleepy Jack and Wind-up Knight. Both are a blast to play. I'll try to think of a few more. Oh, and +1 to the League of Evil recommendation.
Lol, just my luck that I've already got all those games.....well, since I got to the app store in early may, and to TA in around june/july, got any fun games from before then? Or lately, since pretty much all I've picked up is Sleepy Jack, Wind Up KNIght, Flick QB, and Bean's Quest (nothign else in the last month, besides Sonic CD, of new releases)...
LMAO. Alright. If you haven't tried Terra Noctis or Lost Winds I'd probably pick one or the other. Terra Noctis for a more classic and action oriented platformer. Lost Winds for really nice graphics and a unique control system (IMO the controls work great, and the tap to move is not bad at all). Another really good platformer is Oscura. They recently added more levels to it. The artwork in this one is gorgeous and the controls are good as well. Mini Motor Racing is bomb. Superman is alright but it gets old for me. I haven't tried Kinectimals yet, but I've heard its fun. I really like the new Batman game. Next week, you should really pick up Super Crate Box. Try out the comp version for free to see if you like it. It's frustrating on computer, but I think the touch controls will work a bit better.
Yeah, I'm planning on getting SCB, probably Lunar Racer, and sometime Crazy Hedgy (still on iOS 4.2, so I have to wait til the next update to play it). Same reason why I can't play MMR, except that game hasn't said a thing about an update. I'll probly eventually pick up Terra Noctis and/or Lost Winds; TN is releasing a free (mium?) version, which I'll use as a lite to see if I like it. Would you say Batman's better than IB1 (which i own) or IB2 on a 4th gen itouch? Also: my very short wish list: Ice Rage, Fifa 12 (i own 11), Madden 12 (i own 11), RR2, and (MOST IMPORTANT SINCE LAUNCH SALE ENDS TONIGHT))---Don't Run With A Plasma Sword. Which of those should I get?
Oh, just noticed Lunar Racer is coming. NICE. That's on my list too. Batman is way better than Infinity Blade in my opinion. It's more realistic and I just like the style a whole lot more. The upgrades and gadgets are awesome too. Your List: I can't say anything about Madden as I haven't played any football game ever. I'd wait on Ice Rage until Tourney Mode is added (I don't think the price will go up). Real Racing 2 is alright, but don't get it if it isn't $0.99. And, GO GET DRWPS NOW. That game is a really good runner/platformer with some awesome retro graphics and music. And there is some good humor and boss battles. Definitely recommended.
I just picked up Lumi and Super Crossfire and highly recommend them both for those who don't have them. Very fun! And Lumi is on a $0.99 New Year sale for this weekend only.
Great recommendations - picked em up and loving the league of evil so far. Yet to try pix n love rush. Mame is good for a retro fix but it's good to see devs release homages.
Name some good "portrait mode" games that have: lots of content, pick-up-and-play, or don't drain the battery.
How about Gears by Crescent Moon? Not sure about the battery aspect. Also the Full Fat and Pik Pok games are pretty good. Flick Kick Soccer is my favorite. Oh, Hypership Out of Control is fun but not much content. Touchgrind BMX has quite a few unlockable bikes/locations. If you like that kinda stuff.
I have them all except Touchgrind, and it's because I'm not into those kind of games. The only PikPok game I don't have is Flick Kick Fieldgoal, but is it worth it?
Anyone know of games where you can trade stuff online Think WoW Auction house. Or some decent freemium game that isnt Dragonvale.(I end-gamed it as far as the things I can do)

Dang. I don't think the Fieldgoal game is worth it if you have the others. Phoenix HD is surprisingly good and free. Ice Wings is a pretty good endless action flyer. Temple Run (But you probably already have it) The Blocks Cometh for sure if you don't already have it. It has portrait and Landscape layout. Edge is portrait and pretty fun. So is Tetris.
