Long plane ride coming up, need some games to play. Not super interested in RPGs, I love platformers. My absolute favorite iOS game of all time was Super Quickhook. Thanks!

You can try out the other hook games if you don't have em already. (Hook Worlds and Hook Champ).
As for platformers, there's a whole bunch. Off the top of my head:

    Swordigo
    Edge/Edge Extended
    Bean's Quest
    League of Evil 1/2
    Paper Monsters
    1 Bit Ninja
    Mirror's Edge
    Robot Wants Kitty
    Lostwinds
    Mos Speedrun
    Sonic CD

    Definitely a lot more though.

Edit: also check out Orangepixel's platformers like Stardash and Inc

Swordigo. It's a Platformer with RPG spirit, I know you're not interested in RPGs, but the platforming aspects are excellent. HARD game, very challenging.

I'm in the mood for a new game, preferably a hidden gem. Doesn't necessarily have to be in the top 200 apps or what ever that is apple has going. Doesn't have to be new but does need to be something that is still supported and updated.

Im looking for something around the 99-5.00 price range, something with lots of longevity, graphics don't matter but it can't look like it was done in a minute (I'm guilty of this myself but I am giving that game away for free as I believe customers should have value for money after all) any way back on the point, it has to late against all day gaming for at least a week+

Something around the simulation or action genre with high replayability would be good, and we are not talking about freemium fail either.

    Games along the lines of what I'm thinking of which I have are as follows;
    Junk Jack
    Defender Chronicles
    Ascendancy
Trainz (newest update made the UI suck by the way)
    Galaxy on Fire
    Starbase Orion

A game on my potential list is that iPad flight sim xplane but I worry about the fact it hasn't been updated for a while and nothing I can find says it will be again, plus I read there is no heathrow airport (how can a flight sim miss this place?). Any one know if this will still get updates or not?

Another game on my potential list is air tycoon but played the free version of that and it wasn't looking that great to me as the buttons didn't have much feedback.

Also flight tycoon deluxe looks good but it's a previous gen game so that one is on my unlikely list.

But essentially something that is long and even possibly complicated.

    Any ideas?

Oh yeah and I also looked at minecraft PE (well the lite version any way) and I must say after hearing so many epic things about minecraft I was completely underwhelmed.

Go pick up Dungeon Raid. It's $2.99 (I believe), is an RPG/Bejeweled hybrid, and has an infinite amount of replay value. It's not really updated anymore (some people said the dev is working on a huge update, or a sequel) but it doesn't really need an update, you can't improve perfection.

It's got a Lite version you can try.

If your a fan of puzzle platformers I'd suggest Bobby carrot forever, because there is heaps of puzzles, 15hrs + worth of gameplay, and it's fun and addictive.

I'd also strongly recommend 2 of the already mentioned, beans quest and junk jack, again the reason being TONS of gameplay and replayability.

I would have spent at least 40 hours on junk jack alone. And about 20 hours on Bobby carrot forever and quite a few hours on beans quest as well.. Mainly going back trying to get all the badges.

Pick up "bag it" too while it's free if you haven't already.
Great little puzzle game that makes time fly while your flying. Lol

Also, you can't go wrong with any of the sonic series.

    Cavorite is similar to LOE

frogatto is a decent oldskool style platformer.

Awesome land - another retro platformer.

They need to be fed - abstract platformer

    Chop chop caveman

Toyshop adventures - similar to little big planet- quite a hidden gem these days

    Have you tried Super Crossfire?

(it's not a platformer, but a galaga-esque type of game)

Just noticed Geometry Wars Touch is still a buck. Is it worth having if I already have a lot of DSS's?

Can you recommend me some good strategy or RPG games? Or some of the best games of the appstore no matter which genre is. Thank you :)

*cracks knuckles* "Don't worry guys, I got this!"

Go get Dungeon Raid. It's a mix between a RPG and Bejeweled/PuzzeleQuest. There's a Lite version you can try out.

It's my all time favorite app (looks at sig), and it has near infinite replay value.

Is there any strategy discussion happening for Dungeon Raid? I really enjoy it but would like to see what strategies people have come up with.

Thanks to all the folks for the suggestions for RTSes. Unfortunately, I can't say any of those lights my fire. Anything else that's perhaps of little renown? Wish Blizzard would come off their mountain and show iOS some love.

Any nice game to get? I have 99c to spare today. Favorite genres are adventures and puzzles. But open to all suggestions.
