Is picking up War of Eustrath a good way to prep for Final Fantasy Tactics coming out? Eustrath is on sale for $2.99, and I've never played an SRPG before. Thanks!
War of Eustrath is fair introduction; personally I really enjoyed Knighturn (another SRPG; lite avaliable). Another popular recent release is Tactical Warrior. Although you will hear a lot of fanfare for Final Fantasy Tactics it will likely have a higher price tag so would not be my blind buy recommendation for an introductory title to SRPGs.
I think there probably is a difference, this is a screenshot I took of the lite: http://i52.tinypic.com/16gmznp.png ...and this is the App Store screen of the full version: http://a4.mzstatic.com/us/r1000/038/Purple/c4/94/ec/mzl.czqxtusi.640x960-75.jpg
Knighturn & Eustrath are both good, as is Shining Force (even though its wrapped up in an awful emulator... ) I might also recommend Highborn, for a new-to-wargames player.
I only have like two dollars left, and I'm thinking about getting SF IV Volt (don't have the regular SF IV though) and league of evil (not sure on that one, but it looks like it might be good). Any ones that would be better to get that are cheap in price?
Looks like I'm buying it then! It's strange though... I'm actually not very big on point & click games, I generally just want to get to the action rather than listen to the story or watch a cut scene, but the lite version really drew me in from the beginning and I need to know what happens!
Same. When crex suggested it to me, I was very hesitant as it cost 4.99 and I'm not very fond of point and click games either. But, I tried the lite version and it really got me going so I bought it. Trust me, it is an amazing game.
I might consider Robot Wants Kitty in place of League of Evil. Or 1000 Heroez. (Or Mos Speedrun if it was still a buck. )
Doesn't look like there's anything getting released tat I'll pick up tonight. I've been on a major purchase drought for quite a while now, with the exception of last week!
Spirit? Is there a new game titled that or are you referring to the one that's been released for a while? If so, I'd highly recommend it.
Why isn't there more discussion about The Dungeon Saga in here?! Seriously guys, a possible improvement on one of the most popular iOS games around these parts materializes and I only find out through sheer chance!
Okay 0:08. Hoping all of Europe doesn't get The App Store releases at uk time, don't wanna wait another 2 hours.
I've found The Dungeon Saga somewhat under-welming. It's an improvement to fight single battle after single battle and the developer is talking about expanding characters. The graphics are polished. However, on normal difficulty the game starts too easy and tile fields are often sparse resulting in my time being spent combing for only one possible move. Enemies often take non-sensical steps (such as going after experience tiles to no obivous benefit instead of attacking). There are no bonuses for long chain moves (6 shields nets +6 shield just like 3 gold nets +3 gold). Probably still worth a dollar but as not revolutionary as you seem to expect.
