I'd like to get some proper city building games for iPad (not freemium titles). I got Settlers & SimCity already, and they're both good. I'm also playing Virtual City on iPhone, and I like it too. Is there any games like Sierra/Impressions' Caesar/Pharaoh/Zeus/Emperor games or something like Anno/Dawn Of Discovery or Tropico?
Apart form Tiny Tower which is freemium... You can wait for Topia: Age of creation Here is its forum link: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=96821
Do you know aircoaster 3D?? I really love this game.... If you want you can check some tycoons if you like ( my bro enjoyed lemonade tycoon a lot!!)
Here's the best of the best. This is basically my top 50 that I've been working on. Its in semi-order but not really. Not everyone would have these in their top 50 but many people would call all these "must-haves." I realize I forgot Plants vs. Zombies, adding it to this list would mess up all the numbers. Also, Sonic Racing would be on this list as well, but I haven't added it since its so new. 1. Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP - unique, point and click kind of game with some puzzles, and the best music on the appstore. 2. Dead Space - TPS, the closest thing to a console quality deep shooter game. 3. Real Racing 2 - Racing Sim, best racer hands down on the appstore 4. GTA: CTW - GTA on your phone, its a no brainer, top down view 5. Galaxy on Fire 2 - space age adventure 6. Jet Car Stunts - racing/platformer, its totally awesome 7. Space Miner: Space Ore Bust - asteroids/RPG 8. Hook Champ Series - the Mario of the appstore 9. Call of Duty Zombies - nuff said 10. Lego Harry Potter - geared more towards kids, but still awesome 11. NBA Jam - EA comes through with a new take on the classic arcade game. 12. NOVA 2 - FPS at its finest, Halo close 13. Modern Combat 2 - FPS again this time CoD clone 14. Aralon - huge open world western RPG 15. Order & Chaos - MMORPG, WoW clone 16. Zenonia 3 - JRPG 17. Bug Heroes - DSS with RPG elements 18. Battle Heart - line drawing RTS 19. Infinity Blade - awesome graphics, fighting games, many people would put this in their top 10, but not me 20. Dodonpachi Revolution - SSHMUP 21. Fruit Ninja - arcade action 22. Game Dev Story - Sim time sucker, sleep losing, addiction, video game form of crack 23. Mission Europa - FPSRPG 24. Doodle Army 1&2 - side scrolling shooter, the sequel is online 25. Helsing's Fire - fun unique puzzler 26. World of Goo - awesome puzzle 27. Touchgrind BMX - thumb tingling good times 28. Labyrinth 2 - ball rolling at its finest 29. Zen Bound 2 - zen puzzle rope painting greatness 30. Puzzle Agent - just ask crex if you should get this game 31. Bumpy Road - awesome arcade game 32. Tilt to Live - one of my first loves on the appstore still great 33. League of Evil - platformer with super tight controls, tons of levels, and frequent updates 34. Carcassonne - cool board game with online multiplayer, steep learning curve 35. Sword & Poker - poker and an RPG in one, awesome 36. Boost 2- tunnel racing, has online multiplayer now 37. Puzzle Quest 2 - if you like match 3s, i don't 38. Mini Squadron - dogfighting 39. Peggle - Pop Cap coming through in the clutch 40. Angry Birds - gosh darn them pigs 41. Cut the Rope - cute puzzler 42. Tiny Wings - cute games do well on the appstore 43. Pew Pew 2 - DSS, space shooter 44. Rolando 2 - rolling platforming action 45. A good place to start would be to check out the games that got 4.5-5 stars from TouchArcade. http://toucharcade.com/category/ratings/5-stars/ http://toucharcade.com/category/ratings/4-5-stars/
I have to agree with this list . But there are definitely more quality games out there so limiting it to only 50 isn't exactly the best thing to do .
Neehan's got a great list there! jacobtan - if you tell us what type of games you typically like to play, we can be more specific. Also: just start at the end of the thread and start reading pages backwards, you'll find plenty of great suggestions.
Dark Nebula 2 and Gears are amazing too! As they're more of adventure/platforming type of games, I think they're better.
Playing through Backstab right now and so far it's really great!! Really, not enough credit is given to this game. Whichever of gameloft's studios did this, they probably worked way harder than any other gameloft studio has on any other gameloft game. The world is so huge and immersive, it's simply crazy. I might even do a user review of this game. And by the way, the voice acting is mostly not half bad, Gameloft is going in the right direction. All Backstab needs is a little more polishing, I really hope Gameloft takes the time to update the game, at least to stop the crashing. If you have a current gen device, definitely check Backstab out. I think I've put in about 7-9 hours into the game, and I'm only 60% done with the game!
Hi, I didn't want to create a whole new thread for this so, are there any good 3D Platformers? I've seen many 2D Platformers in the AppStore but the only 3D Platformers I've seen are the Scaredy & Action Cat Games.
