Lol, well Nova 2 is there..and I thought that was better overall, especially the multiplayer. I didn't think Puzzle Agent was that amazing. Sure, the story was great, but I didn't find the puzzles to be too fun. It only lasted two hours in any case, meh. Not a big fan of point and click adventures. Phoenix Wright is the only game in the genre that I like, and it's not really even a point and click adventure, lol. Don't worry, I played the hell out of Plants vs Zombies when it first came out. It's one of the easiest games to play under your binder/book at school, heheh. The list is my top 50 though.
any good action adventure side scrollers i don't have? i'd really like another action adventure ones . here's what i got. * Marks my favourites -Frogatto ( I really want a game like this, just better executed) -League of Evil* -Mos Speedrun* -Earthworm Jim -Megaman 2 -Dark Void Zero -Grokion -Pizza Boy* -Illusia (i HATE this one, very repetitive) -Rolando -Soosiz* -Max & the Magic Marker* -Plunderland (kinda off limits for side scrollers though) non action/adventure ones: -Beyond Ynth -Jelly Car 3 -Shift 2 -Rocketcat's hooking games anything good i don't have?
Bounce On 2 Elemental Rage Rolando 2 Storm in a Teacup Robot Wants Kitty Perfect Cell You're missing quite a few good ones!
You thought Nova 2 was better? hmm. I thought it was worse. Some of the levels were actually boring to me. The only levels I remember that I liked were the final boss and the one where you had to build those tower defense like guns. But I agree with PW and PvZ. Robot Wants Kitty!!!
You might also want to make your criteria a bit more specific. I'll be including all my fav action adv side scrolling games here: Third blade (if you don't mind the grind) Sonic 4 Ep 1 (a sin if you don't like speed) Chopper 2 (couldn't help to leave this out. After all, it scrolls sideways ) X-MEN (the story is EPICALLY cheesy... LOL! Dunno if this is in store though. It's pulled from Aus store) Oh and btw is Puzzle Quest 2 worth getting now? 50% off sounds good to me... I remember a discussion between PQ2 and Dungeon *something some pages back but I prefer some personalized service . Can someone compare it to PQ 1 (the original)? I played it on DS and loved it.
Yes. PQ2 is a steal at it's current sale. You'll get a ton of content and replayability from it. They're both good to have to be honest. The only real gripe I had in comparison was in chp1/2 you get more character classes(big fan of the Bard) for campaign, but #2 is still a solid game in it's own right.
Well, actually, neither campaign were very memorable to me. FPS are all about the multiplayer for me so yeah..Nova 2 definitely wins in that category. I really liked the tower defense levels as well. Very creative level design. I found it funny that half the posts I found in the Nova 2 thread and on iTunes are about how the last level/boss are impossible to beat..can't say it took more than 10 minutes for me. But yeah, online multiplayer is always a big thing for me, heh.
Hey WHAT??? 576mb!!! Inf Blade and its EPIC Unreal engine graphics is only 584mb... Just surprised that's all... Got the game over Dungeon Raid for better graphics and production value.
Last boss in Nova 2 sorta stumped me as well. But once I read someone say Spoiler use the mines , I beat it instantly. Campaign wise, I actually thought the original Nova was better, although the final boss was sort of a letdown.
It's actually 919.4 MB once you install it on your iPod, but um, okay?.. Lol, yeah, I wasn't expecting the boss to die after mining it just once...the fight lasted like 2 minutes, if even. The only thing I liked about the first one was that charging plasma gun. That thing was pretty boss. The boss was a retard..some UFO thing that aims at everything but you, haha. It was a really good game for its time though. Not too many games at the time could compare.
That is also one of the reasons I chose Nova over Nova 2 for the list. At the time, absolutely nothing matched it in terms of graphics and gameplay. When Nova 2 came out, it didn't have anything that gave it an edge over the other shooters.
I just gained another reason to drop math as a subject. PQ2: 576mb in app description. 1.22 GIGS on iPhone 4. RAGE HD: 744mb app description. 1.18 G on iphone. One of the most extreme cases in size increase is Epic War TD ~80mb in app description and 374mb on device. Seriously?! Can someone explain this massive file size increase to me?
Puzzle Agent @Crex: I've almost grabbed Puzzle Agent a couple of times, but each time I stumble on this review from AppSpy, which puts me off. Do you disagree with his comments? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92P9_sR9kgE
I definitely recommend you grab it. A few puzzles can be hard but they shouldn't get to the point where it becomes frustrating. The graphics aren't the best, but i don't think it needs to be the way the art is drawn. You kinda have to see it for yourself. If I were to rate it, I would give it a 5/5 for amazing gameplay and art! Puzzle Agent!!!
I like the original Hook Champ the best, but I don't think it's better than any of the ones on my top 50. Number 35 and 20?..
